Yuck. Gross "food" that is waaaaay overpriced for what you get and the "food" tastes like it was made a few days ago. They also got my order incorrect, but I had made it home before I realized this. I ordered chicken strips, but they were rubbery and tasted old. This location is right next door to me. It had been my lunch place throughout my high school years. I don't go often as I used too any more but I still love the place when I do. I got to say though, I used to love their fries back then but now their just thicker and tasteless. Still tastes good with ice cream though (come on! Everyone is so nice at this Dairy Queen!! The food is great, quick and my orders have never been wrong. Plus!!...they never run out of ice cream (like Sonic down the street does). I like the variety of food from burgers, salads, and tacos to treats. I think my favorite part is the "Bad Attitudes" sign before walking in. BEWARE do NOT go through the drive thru unless you want damage to your vehicle or unless you have a very, very small car. What a joke of a drive thru and my order wasn't correct! I'll never go here again! It's not funny when there is over $4,000 worth of damage on my large SUV due to the tall bumpers you put towards the inside of your drive thru. It was either hit the fence on the right front bumper or take a hit on the back left side of the vehicle. I couldn't back out after I saw how very tight it was due to multiple cars behind me so I was FORCED to go through. This is NOT your neighbors fault with the fence they installed. As an owner I feel you need to be more responsible re: how very tight the drive thru is and close it to ALL large vehicles or close it period. People need to not be lazy and get out of their cars to place an order. read more

I have really tried DQ. I love your snappy jingles and blizzard specials, but EVERY TIME I have come here you've messed something up. Now I admit that time I got pissed because your dive thru is tighter than a chimpmunk's hole in the ground and scratched my car was my fault because I didn't read the sign (NOTE I HAVE A JEEP WRANGLER 4DOOR). But the second time I asked for chocolate in my blizzard to make the ice cream chocolate, that didn't happen and yes you did let me keep the vanilla one and gave me a new chocolate one but this is the third time and you put chocolate in both not just one. I do have to say that this location is awesome. It is always clean and the staff has always been extremely friendly and courteous. I was here about 2 weeks ago and decided to dine in alone while on a lunch break and the staff greeted me as I walked in took my order and the food came out hot and quick. It was lunch for nearby Crockett HS and it was full of students but was pretty quiet and laid back. I went back today thru drive thru and my order was quick correct and the lady at the window was very nice as well. Love this place. An the ice cream is good as well! read more

The only thing I've ever had here is a blizzard, and that is enough for five stars because the blizzards are amazing. The trick with any of the chocolate-based blizzards is to make sure they make it with the HOT FUDGE not the cocoa fudge. I know, cocoa fudge sounds good, but it actually tastes something like Play-Doh. (Yes, I remember what Play-Doh tastes like... don't kid yourself, so do you.) And the people who work at this location are incredibly friendly. I get better service here with my blizzards than at fancy restaurants. So go get yourself a blizzard. Well, I guess it was time to have a big mess up. It was due at some point. We are regulars at this location (we drive into south Austin from Dripping springs for the last several years due to the previous exceptional quality at this location). We ordered 2 large baskets (8 piece) of steak fingers and chicken fingers through the Drive thru. The girl taking our order was nice, the guy at the window was nice...BUT, the food was missing about half the "fingers" in each basket. Thank GOD we actually checked our food order (as we normally dont have to). We got Blizzards as well for all of us (Lg Heath was missing a significant amount of chocolate chunk). Considering our order was over $40, we were stunned that we were missing half our food! Never happened before, so we turned around, parked and went inside....and waited in line. The nice girl at the register clearly SAW me as i entered and that i had a large bag of DQ food (bag) in my hand (obvious to anyone) and yet, I waited and waited, until it was my turn. Could she not have said to someone to go see what my issue was (there were multiple workers just behind her talking and chatting with friends, etc..)? I can only imagine her training isn't quite finished yet, as she looked young and new. I explained my problem, she was quick to add the missing steak fingers and chicken fingers....but no apology? Really?? Is there a new crew working back there or am I missing something? Mayfield has set the bar super high but I guess it was time for failure. it happens I guess.... Blizzard's don't come with enough of the chocolate bar spread throughout the ice cream. They bust sprinkle a lit bit on top of the ice cream inside the cup. They need to mix it around and put more in it so that you can get some with each bite, not just the first 3 bites. read more

I've been going to this one for over 17 years, so since I was 9 years old, and every time I came here I would order the chicken strip basket. Second worst Diary Queen I have ever eaten at in my entire life! I felt completely ripped off. The food was so not worth the price. I ordered The "Dude" country-fried steak sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger.
