I loved the paprika and sour cream sauce. I ordered the roast beef sliders with the horseradish aioli on the side. They were amazing! I wish I could cook roast beef like these sliders. (I learned about the sliders on their website promotions page.) My husband had the Classic Hot dog with macaroni and cheese. He ate every bite! We ordered the Lemon Strudel with ice cream for dessert. I loved the signed buns hanging on the walls. Fun decor! I am glad that I was able to come here for the very first time.

Her partner at the time was deeply into pickles. And Packo's is almost synonymous with pickles. If there is any doubt, stick your head into the gift shop. As good as everything is, the pickles may be the best part. For the sake of full disclosure, I am still continuing to dial in my perfect order at TPs. I think I was pretty close on the last trip with stuffed cabbage and a Hungarian "hot dog" with chili, onions, and mustard. Personally, I find adding this cheese to these hot dogs does not add much beyond calories and fat (and not the kind of fat that equals flavor, there is already plenty of that in the sausage and chili). But the hot dogs come with pickles. And they are magnificent. It's kind of like the fun that comes with eating shishito peppers. You never know which one is going to be the spicy one. The spicy ones are especially delightful. One of these days I'll get the fried pickles. I am sure they are divine, and may bring the place up to 5 stars. But I need to bring a crew with me, and regrettably, my family just isn't into this type of cuisine. For me, the stuffed cabbage tapped into some ancient ancestral memory and brought me an unreasonable amount of joy. So it goes. Personally, I found the pierogi to be a bit dry, but my basis for comparison is Polish. Perhaps this is precisely how pierogi are prepared in Hungary. But the bottom line is that Tony Packo's is a regional treasure. If you haven't been, go. If you've gone, visit them again. These are trying time for restaurants and if we do not support them they may shutter. That would be a tragedy.

Every flavor popped...the perfectly cooked eggs, crunchy bacon, tender crisp fried green tomatoes, solid, flavorful, hash brown patty and the light buttery croissant. The hollandaise was a thick, creamy and very rich addition that perfectly complimented the sandwich in moderation. After tasting it, I was thrilled that i had asked for it on the side as I felt it would have overwhelmed the savory goodness of that stacked perfection. Each flavor and texture played beautifully with the next. I will definitely return on our next Toledo visit!

Despite that my meal came saturated in barbecue sauce. Furthermore, when I pay $22 for a brisket sandwich platter. I expect sliced brisket. This was like shredded beef. There isn't much meat on the sandwich and the meat that is there is so drowned and sauce that you can't even taste the flavor. The two stars are for the service. They were very fast. But I couldn't even get ice for my drink so there's that.... the mac & cheese is decent and so was the coleslaw, but when I pay that kind of money for brisket, I want a sliced brisket sandwich, not shredded meat

My first visit to that location led to many more when I lived in the area. I have been spending time at St Charles Hospital and on a "lunch break" yesterday afternoon, I was driving on Navarre Ave trying to figure out what would hit the spot. That is when I remembered Deet's now has a location on Navarre, not far from St Charles. I enjoyed the Big Pete sandwich (massive) and some peach cobbler. Both were very delicious and fairly priced. By all the trophies on display, Deet's is still knocking it out of the park with their BBQ. The store was very clean and orderly. I was promptly met at the counter to make my order by a friendly, courteous staff member. Well done...
