a half eaten hot dog on a piece of paper

Came here with my husband to try the place out after passing by a few times. We first ordered the hot dogs with chips and drink and then went back thru line to try the ice cream. We unfortunately are not fans of the hot dogs. I tried the chili dog. The chili or hot dog sauce is not bad, but the hot dog itself was lifeless. It was not hot and didn't have any flavor. My husband didn't order his with chili and he said the hot dog tasted raw and overall didn't taste very good. I give this review 3-stars because the ice cream was quite good. It was creamy and sweet and much needed on a hot day. Will return for the ice cream.

I absolutely adore this place! They've been in operation since I can remember. Here's the set up: It's drive thru-only at this location and in the summer, they have picnic table dining behind the restaurant. You can grab the perfect summer meal for less than $10 I usually order 2 coneys (because they are too amazing to have just 1!) w/ onions & mustard (no fried food here!) but you can get chips as a side if you need one. I also LOVE that they serve Vernor's which you can mix in a variety of ways with their ice cream. Be aware, that this place is ~SEASONAL~ which adds to their greatness. They close sometime in the fall and reopen in the spring.

This place knows how to make a chili dog! We go back and forth between this place and Rudy's but they are both so good. Nice steamed bun, great hotdog, perfect amount of mustard onions and just the right kind of chili dog chili. Plus at a great price too! I wish they would come down to FL where we live. Ice cream is great as well with crunch coat. I hear they are only open during the summer so call to make sure they are open.

Good old school Detroit style coneys. You may hate them but I love them. I also can't resist a blue raspberry freeze.

Otherwise I love that this place is local, natural, and uses the ingredients that it does! The smoothie is delectable as I'm sure everything else is. They have such a nice selection of all things delicious from little snacks to sandwiches and everything in between. The prices are very high but none of the menu items have ever disappointed. We've been several times and the owners & staff are great folks delivering a very welcoming and pleasant experience on every visit. It's a cute, quaint spot in downtown Sylvania with a great vibe. Erin Ann's is a much-needed place for allergen friendly sweets & treats. Folks who need GF and/or DF, this is the spot! The coconut milk-based ice cream is superb to the point that you would never know it's coconut. They always have rotating flavors and they are all unique and tasty. Amongst others, I loved the maple-bacon, which was delicious. Their HOMEMADE (!!) gluten free bagels are without a doubt the best GF bagels I've ever had. They are dense and flavorful and ready to handle whatever you throw on top. We've started ordering them by the pack to stock our freezer at home (we don't live nearby). I highly recommend the avocado & egg bagel sandwich, served open-faced, and absolutely loaded on both halves with savory avocado mash, sliced hard boiled egg, and everything seasoning...get it on the 'everything' bagel and you won't be disappointed; very filling...and addicting. Honestly, this is the menu item that keeps bringing our whole family back, even with all the amazing sweet treats on the menu. Juices and smoothies are outstanding. I've tried the Green Monster and Fall Harvest juices, and both are packed with goodness and flavor. Healthiness delivered in a delicious drink. On the treat side, I highly recommend the Cashew Chocolate Protein bites, GF pretzels, brownies, and these Snickers-like bars that taste just like their namesake (I can't recall what Erin Ann's calls their version though - I just know they are phenomenal). Give this spot a try, especially if you need GF items or non-dairy ice cream. You won't be disappointed.

Maumee Valley Chocolate and Candy is wonderful…read more We were walking along the riverfront park and I saw a sign that said chocolate, so I walked over here to check it out. This store has so much candy! Lots of retro candy, plenty of foreign candy (multiple flavors of Kit Kats including flavors of chunky kit kats, hi chews and some other Asian candies (a bunch of options, but I can get all of them in Chicago's chinatown so I didn't pay attention), Aero bars, Terry's oranges, and other British candy. There were so many retro candy options, plus every kind of candy you've ever heard of. (I eat too much candy, and know a lot of types of candy and I was blown away by the options). They also had lots of types of pop, but I didn't pay much attention to them. I wanted my sugar in chocolate form. I am a chocoholic, and I was very happy to find this place. I got some creams from the case (dark chocolate raspberry cream, orange cream, strawberry cream, vanilla cream). They were delicious. These are better than my former favorite Fannie May (which sadly isn't as good as it used to be). I also got some chocolates in the bulk chocolate section. The chocolate covered cherries are amazing as is the chocolate covered orange peel (though jellier than I was expecting inside). The chocolate covered pecans are fine (but I don't usually get these so maybe chocolate covered pecans aren't my thing). The store is cute! It had a Lego Willy Wonka set! This place is in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Maumee Valley Chocolate and Candy is Toledo's best retro candy store. Hell, I'll go so far as to…read moresay that it's the best candy store in town. Period. There was a time that title belonged to Boyd's, but Boyd's has been slipping for a while now. Walk in here and you'll find every kind of candy that you could want. The candy selection is flat-out unparalleled. Bun bars, Necco wafers, saucers, Zero bars, salt water taffy, the cheap-but-still-damn-good Willy Wonka stuff - you name it. If I ever saw it in a candy store as a kid, it's sitting on a shelf in this place. They've got the "finer" items, too: solid milk chocolate, actual truffles, bonbons, the works. Sugar free stuff? Yeah, that too. And the retro/craft pop ("soda," for those of you who never learned the proper word) is outstanding. Then, for a little depth, throw in a few kitschy tin signs and magnets, and few retro (think Scooby-Doo) lunchboxes. Oh yeah...they scoop their own ice cream too. Five stars, no regrets!
