When I moved back to NW Ohio from over 2 decades in Southern California, thanks to Yelp, I was led to Deet's BBQ in Maumee. My first visit to that location led to many more when I lived in the area. I have been spending time at St Charles Hospital and on a "lunch break" yesterday afternoon, I was driving on Navarre Ave trying to figure out what would hit the spot. That is when I remembered Deet's now has a location on Navarre, not far from St Charles. I enjoyed the Big Pete sandwich (massive) and some peach cobbler. Both were very delicious and fairly priced. By all the trophies on display, Deet's is still knocking it out of the park with their BBQ. The store was very clean and orderly. I had Deet's BBQ at the old West End Festival a few weeks back Let me tell you the food truck version is amazing so fresh and tasty But the restaurant is very ordinary I rate it 2 out of 5 And they don't have any water only soda & tea The service is fast tho our food didn't take long at all And inside the restaurant was clean so was the bathroom also it was small tho probably not great for big groups of people read more

Horrible horrible customer service. I managed to fill up their "customer loyalty card" a stamp for every $15 purchase made per visit after 10 visits. Which total $150 spent there. Long story short I showed up and they couldn't honor it because apparently the "Big Pete Sandwich" isn't just a sandwich for them it's a specialty sandwich. Had their wings, and they were awful. Dry, over cooked and rubbery. Price was exorbitant and the manager was not very friendly. Any barbecue place with that many trucks for remo work should have been much better. It's a good thing I'm being rei for my food. read more

First time to Deet's. And it will be my last time food very pricey. I ordered pulled pork sandwich very bland and way too much sauce on it. I got the brisket and beans as a side and the red potato salad as a side the potato salad was very bland and the brisket and beans was just pork and beans from a can there was no brisket whatsoever in the beans no seasoning I would not recommend this place to anyone way overpriced. Here's the Deet's on my 3 star review... *pause for laughter* Well wasn't the greatest experience I've ever had, and that's disappointing seeing as how we were craving a good pulled pork sandwich. Stopped by the restaurant in Oregon this evening. Order was punched in wrong, leading to overcharge. We asked for a receipt and found the issue. Lady at the register says 'well you said this...' and argued her point instead of correcting the honest mistake. Rolls her eyes, calls the manager over, then huffs and puffs her way to the back to complain to her coworkers. We found this behavior odd, seeing as how we did leave a decent tip on the overcharged bill. The manager handled the situation perfectly and we can't thank her enough for her understanding and promptness in correcting the problem. As far as the food goes; the 'one handed' is a slider sized sandwich. Flavor was okay, but a little pricey for what you get. Corn muffin was really nice, not warm but I didn't mind. Mostly felt awkward and ate the meal quickly to get out of the situation with the single irritated employee. Probably will stick to other locations if we choose to go back. read more

Food tasted good, but we did not get what we ordered. I also didn't get the pecan pleaser that I ordered. I didn't realize that until it was too late. They added queso to nachos that we ordered without queso. They put pork instead of chicken on an order of nachos. read more

The food is absolutely amazing the only thing is the potatoes with the dip are no longer sold in store you have to get catering in order to get it which is a bummer because it's my favorite side . The service is very nice and professional ,the inside of the store is very clean . read more

Ordered a half rack of ribs, one side and drink, totaled over $20. A little pricy but maybe it's really good. I put my card in the machine, and I'm prompted to leave a tip. First of all, this is a fast food style place. You pay at the register, they hand you your food over the counter. Why am I being asked for a tip? You don't tip at Wendy's. You don't tip at McDonald's. Second of all, the only options are 18%, 20%, or 25%. Since when is 25% the new standard for good service? Let alone a fast food style place that is already pricy? I remember when 10% was standard and 15% was for excellent service. Tipping is getting out of hand. Pay your employees more. Last but not least, the ribs were mediocre at best. Food was mediocre. We got the brisket sandwiches, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. The brisket was Not bad but definitely dry. The potato salad and Mac and cheese were yummy. We didn't have a great experience with customer service. We are driving through on a weekend trip and stopped into this location at 9pm not knowing it was closing. As we were standing at the counter deciding what to order, the one employee said out loud "told you we should have already locked the door". We told them we would leave, especially cause it was awkward now, but they insisted it was fine. Just made us feel unwelcome. Anytime you order delivery, the meal is very small. You'd think paying 45 dollars for two average weight people they'd be full. Nope!

The staff was friendly and did a great job with customer service. The macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw were good. The ribs had a great flavor, and the sauces were also good. The ribs did not fall off the bone but were not tough either. Overall very good. read more
