I again explained the situation and sincerely apologized, asking if the cancellation fee could be waived given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the response felt cold and lacked empathy. I was told the charge could not be waived, despite this being a true emergency completely out of our control. We were not just charged a standard cancellation fee -- we were charged the full cost of the massage, totaling $250.00. I also requested that a manager or owner return my call to further discuss the situation, but I never received a follow-up call. The lack of response was especially disappointing and unprofessional. I understand and respect that businesses have cancellation policies to protect against no-shows and last-minute cancellations. However, there should be room for compassion and discretion in genuine, unavoidable emergencies. Customer service and empathy matter.
