The perfect amount of pressure. One of the best massages I have received. My facial was also lovely. I particularly like the hand moisturizing treatment with the warming mitts. First the good stuff: all personnel where very nice and helpful. Second out of 5 spas I called that actually responded. Massage and facial services were great. Not so good stuff: The lobby of the hotel has been maintained but the spa has been neglected. The shower was not clean when I used it to change, decided I would not be taking a shower after. 1 reason I choose this place is they had a sauna and steam room. I went in and started looking around and decided to leave the sauna as I did want to get sick from mold! Checked the steam room and it was not very clean and smelled, no thank you. The locker room walls also showed signs of prior water damage. Not a big deal but dated with using spa music on old CD players in each room vs a sound system. Lastly, I had reservations at another spa that answered first, but this spa called back & was about $30 cheaper with both being part of a major name brand establishment, so I switched. I was told on the phone price was $150 and the 20% gratuity was already included. However, the information was wrong, they add it on top not included. I had upgrade to add facials for $216 so I was expecting it to be more but not an additional $80 on top for the two of us for tips. I said something and also mentioned the mold in the sauna and there was no effort to compensate just a sorry for the misunderstanding and she tries to make sure the girls say it the correct way, they included it for you on your bill but it's not part of the quoted fee.... Poor service in this case. Oh and I could never find pricing and services online prior to going. Would not recommend! read more

Most bizarre spa experience of my life. I wish I had looked here before I booked. I was traveling for work and staying in the hotel and needed a massage. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by a friendly woman in church type clothes. She took me back to the locker area and then to my room, it was a ghost town all around. She then came into the room, I was expecting someone else since she didn't say she was a massage therapist and she also wasn't dressed like one, and I didn't see a certificate for her or anyone else posted. The massage did not feel correct and her nails were long which made it more uncomfortable. I wish I had never set foot in the place. It was also EXTREMELY expensive to boot. read more

My husband and I booked a couples massage at Magnolia Spa to celebrate our anniversary while on a trip to Savannah. In the last 15-20 years I have had upwards of 30+ massages, and I have to say this was by far the worst. I rarely, if ever, feel compelled to leave reviews (especially not negative reviews) because I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt (they might have been having a bad day, not feeling well, something going on outside of work, etc.) but my husband's experience was exactly the same. When it came time to pay, they automatically added a 22% charge as a tip for the massage therapist, which is fine and I would normally tip in addition to that, but for a total of $435 for a 50 minute massage that was essentially someone wiping oil on my body with a flat palm, I couldn't fathom adding anything additionally. We also arrived early and signed our forms quickly and made it into the room at exactly our start time, but with introductions and changing we didn't start until 8 or so minutes in, and they started the clock when we entered, so the massage itself wasn't even the full 50 minutes. As I mentioned before, I never like leaving negative reviews, but for the price we paid, I'm hoping others don't end up in this same position. read more

Service was wonderful! My husband and I got a couple's massage, and both enjoyed it. I had a lot of knots, so it was somewhat painful at times, but we both left feeling very relaxed. There is a nice relaxation room and steam room and sauna to enjoy as well. read more

We had high hopes for our appointments here and we're deeply disappointed. I highly urge you to read reviews and their menu to understand what you'll be receiving. I did a pedicure here and to the tune of $66+, I could've done better at any other salon in the area for half the price. They don't have massage chairs or even a proper pedicure chair. Just an armchair with a foot bath, like you'd buy from Amazon. The technician was fantastic but I had noticed her timer had been set prior to me entering the room. So my 55 min pedicure began at 42 mins and some odd seconds because she'd already been running the time. I really felt shorted in the massage which lasted five minutes max... She was very polite and courteous otherwise. The polish was also beautiful so I feel unfair selling her so short as I imagine it's the spa pushing more customers in than they can accommodate since they only have ONE person working at a time. To finish off the pedi, they had no toe separators so they had to use rolled up paper towel.. it's a salon, this shouldn't happen. Other mentions: The relaxation room is four chairs in a room with ocean sounds playing on a broken CD that frequently skipped. They told us to show up 20 mins early online but there was no one in the salon. After 20 mins, I had to notify the front desk to assist. The bar outside had a dead fly on it. Less than pleasant for somewhere we are consuming food and drink. read more

I went for a 80 min Magnolia Signature massage and a Magnolia Pedicure. Complete waste of money. While the room and massage therapist were nice, it did nothing to relieve any kind of muscle tension was a extremely light touch even after I was asked what type of pressure I wanted. Med/firm.....Def not worth the $145 price and the mandatory 20% gratuity The $65 Pedicure was a joke. Started with just a reg chair not a nice lounge or massage chair, from there the girl had me put my feet into a boiling hot tub of water, yea!!! then proceeded to add a pitcher of cold water even then was still very hot. Never opened a pack of cuticle cutters,file my nails a bit.... asked if I wanted by heels sanded /smoothed, i said yes but may as well not have as she barely touched my feet felt like nothing being done at all, no pressure at all. Put my feet in plastic bag of wax for 2 mins ,Used hot towels to remove wax. Then proceeded to polish my nails with my feet just hanging there. No Massage at all..... No toe separates...... just gobbed on polish that proceeded to get all over and between toes then tried to clean up her mess. I would have had a better Pedicare done by a 6 yr old. I asked her how long she has been doing this she said a few weeks her daughter taught her how to do ..... WHAT....... i would think a spa would have licensed professionals especially for the price. She did say she was a master cosmetologist for 10 yrs but that is hair! They could not even get any one to fix my nails because she was the only one to do nails.......... I was staying near Savannah on vacation and found a Groupon for a spa day (50 min massage and 50 min facial) for a great price while my husband went golfing across the river. From the moment I inquired about an appointment, to making my actual appointment, and being welcomed on the day of, the manager and front desk trainee were so sweet and helpful. The spa itself is modest but nice and well kept, on a Friday and with the way they staggered spa appointments, I pretty much felt as though I had the place to myself for 4 hours! It was awesome! My facial was first and I was blessed with Johnnie's magical hands cleansing my skin and relaxing me to the core. I like how she greeted me with an introduction, mini consultation and a breakdown of what she was planning on doing during my service. Honestly, I have never had such a wonderful and soothing facial in my life, and I am a seasoned spa-goer. She was a total professional with the most gentle & goosebump-inducing movements and yet deliberate cleansing techniques, even better than a $200+ facial I had at a local boujie spa in my hometown of San Diego not too long ago. Every single minute of Johnnie's facial was pure bliss, I was sad when it was over but incredibly relaxed and ready for my massage. I might have just been so obsessed with Johnnie that I forgot my therapist's name, but she was wonderful as well and did a great job on my massage. I was able to upgrade my Groupon to a prenatal for the original price difference of $15. Perfect! She propped me up with pillows and gave me a good deal of pressure considering it was supposed to just be a relaxation massage, I am grateful for the deeper tissue massage I received in the areas that needed it. I sipped hot tea, had an apple and read my book for an hour before one last quick steam with cool peppermint towels on my face and belly, then a long shower to wrap things up. I took my sweet time dressing and blowdrying my hair and was never rushed. Checkout was as pleasant as check-in, and I left super relaxed and ready for the rest of my fun day around Savannah with my hubby. I'm sitting in the parking lot typing this because I'm still in Bliss and I need to share it!! I used Groupon and I had what felt like a 3-hour deep-pressure massage (it was only 50 minutes). I have a hip injury and I carry stress in my neck and shoulders. I left with what feels like a new neck and my hip is barely uncomfortable (it is typically an issue even when bending down or sitting up straight). My massage therapist was Vashni and I prefer minimal (no) talking. She asked basic questions up front but after that only directives were spoken. It was so relaxing. The magnolia also offers access to their full spa amenities including a steam room and sauna. I had the entire place to myself for over 45 minutes. It was so relaxing. I highly recommend grabbing a chilled peppermint towel for the sauna, so nice. read more

This was honestly one of the worst massages I've had. I was on a conference with my husband and booked an 80 minute signature massage for $140. The pillow rest was broken, so I was inverted. When I suggested something different, I was given a pillow to place under my torso straining my lower back. During the 80 minutes, my face, head, neck and chest were never touched even though I suggested these were areas of pain during our consultation. The only saving grace was the steam room. I returned home to my regular massage therapist and she worked out all my kinks for half the price. read more

I don't leave 1 stars often, but this literally was the worst experience I have ever had. My husband spent over $200 for a massage and a 55 minute pedicure. The "sports" massage was nothing of the sort. She stretched my legs one way, one time. Now on to the "spa" part.. they put me in a room for atleast 20 minutes and just told me to wait for the next appointment... i waited longer for my pedicure than my pedicure lasted. It was $65!! No massage chairs, no nothing. A chair and a bucket that my feet were bigger than. Pissed is an understatement. read more

Amazing massage! My husband and I visited Magnolia's Spa when we were on our anniversary trip in Savannah. The facilities were very clean and well stocked. The actual massages were fantastic-- we both asked for a little more pressure and they definitely we able to target a lot of our tension spots and knots. The staff was really sweet too. I was in town for a conference and wanted a good massage. Wow! Absolutely fabulous work done by Crystal. You must ask for her. She has a passion for this work and it shows! The facility itself is beautiful with a wonderful locker room with all the amenities one could want. You then wait for your masseuse in a relaxation room. I wasn't sure what type of massage to get but Crystal recommended the "Magnolia" which is a combination of deep tissue and swedish and she was so right. I have never felt so relaxed and she got rid of some bad shoulder pain I was having from carrying suitcases and bags over the past week. I highly recommend Crystal and this salon. read more

The therapist was very nice I could tell she is a sweet gentle soul and sometimes it helps to tell your story of struggle to help healing, however not during a professional service I am paying $100 for. She talked so much I was exhausted. I requested a deep tissue (I am a massage therapist) and I received my skin rolled and gentle stretched for half the time. It felt fine but should have not taken that long. She never touched one knot to work out the entire time and trust me I have plenty. The whole experience was very strange. I told the desk I was only going to pay for a Swedish because that's what I received. She asked me if I was sure I didn't get deep. Um I'm sure. This place needs a major facelift. read more
