We are new to the area and searching for the best donut shop in the area. Their selection was great and the donuts were good.

A lot of reviews say locations sell out of the speciality donuts early, so I made sure to get to the shop early (6:30am on a Saturday early). All donuts were still in stock and they had a great selection. As soon as we walked in, the owner say my daughter and gave her a donut hole to snack on while picking her donuts. Absolutely loved that gesture! We got a dozen ($16.00), and my daughter picked the fruity pebbles and fruit loops, of course. My favorite donut has always been blueberry cake and a sour cream glazed. But i've seen a ton of good reviews on their cherry chip, so went with that over blueberry. Got home and had the sour cream glazed and it is PERFECT! I love the crispy edges, yet soft center. I came here because I had a gift certificate. The donuts were actually very tasty. The white cream filled donut was plentifully filled, and wasn't all dough like some shops. The sour cream donut was also firm, but nicely glazed. Besides the donuts, though, the woman working behind the desk wasn't extremely friendly, and she was rather irritated when I inquired about some of their more unique donut flavors that I wasn't familiar with. We make a point to try to get doughnuts everywhere we travel. After research of doughnuts in the Detroit area we settled on making the drive to Daily Dozen in Warren. It was a great choice! We got an assortment of doughnuts and all of them were fantastic. Got there about noon on a Sunday and there was still a decent selection. No wait and a friendly gentlemen helped us promptly. All the doughnuts were quite fresh and had a great taste. My favorite was that powered sugar one with a delectable cream filling. The price was great too compared to a lot of places we visit, we felt like we were stealing for such a low price for a dozen. If you are into doughnuts- you won't be disappointed. read more

I don't get all of the hype about this being good donuts, I don't think it's any better than... Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's, which I think are both below average. I ordered the strawberry fritter looking thing with cinnamon, 2 buttermilk, 2 cinnamon and 1 custard and chocolate donuts. I think the buttermilk is okay, but the dough is too mushy, should be more crispy with the buttermilk frosting, the dough on the custard and chocolate was decent and the custard and chocolate was pretty good. All in all it was okay, but no where near the caliber of donuts of Dutch Girl Donuts. read more

I am not a fan of donuts...but I am now! OMG, these are the best donuts ever. I don't have any pictures to show of the donuts because I ate them. Mom and I arrived relatively late for donut hour; we arrived at Noon on a Saturday. Most of the donuts were picked over, meaning there was a lot of empty bins but the remaining donuts were delicious! They all looked so good I decided to order 3. I had the coconut custard, dipper and the sour cream donut. I liked the dipper because I thought it looked cute with the little handle poking out, turns out it was cute and full of crispy, vanilla deliciousness. The coconut custard had a toasty coconut outside which covered all of the donut, not just the top, and the inside was a light pudding. The sour cream was not too sugary and full of creamy smoothness. I will return at an earlier hour. I swear I'd like to get there when they open at 4am just so I could taste them fresh from the oven. If you are near 9mile and Schoehnerr do yourself a favor and stopped by for the best donuts ever! P.S. I believe they now have a store in Royal Oak. P.S.S. Best place to get donuts ! I ended up with a dozen which only cost $9, you can not beat that at all. They only take cash so there was no tax :-) I got bunch of different donuts all which were good but I have to give a shout-out to my top 3 blueberry, red velvet and strawberry moonrock. We went early to ensure fresh donuts and that they would be fully stocked. I wish I lived closer because I'd go at least once a week but I think I will make this a monthly treat for sure! This is a wonderful place to get donuts. The variety and selection of donuts is one of the best that I have seen. I have been several times and have been pleasantly surprised with their ever-changing donut of the week. This week's donut was the Strawberry Shortcake. A French Cruller filled with strawberry jelly and creme in the middle. The myriad donuts we have had include the Oreo, Red Velvet, Samoa, Apple Stick, Lemon, Moonrocks and many others. I'm sad that I visited this place so late in the day because all the good flavors were gone! FYI late is like 1pm on a weekday. I drive by all the time and finally stopped in. I tried the Dutch Crumb donut and it was so good. It tasted so fresh and moist..I was pleasantly surprised. That particular donut was very messy but I would definitely get it again. The donuts here are excellent! Unfortunately, they tend to sell out by 10am and the Sterling Heights location has VERY limited hours. I wish they could make enough product to offer more hours. I have encountered closed doors and/or little product available enough times that I don't even try anymore. The sour cream and glazed doughnuts smelled and tasted greasy. So disappointing. Maybe they need to change the oil more often. The gentleman behind the counter did not wear a mask or gloves, during the COVID19 pandemic. His fingernails had black dirt underneath. This is not sanitary food handing even in normal times. He used a wax paper square to pick up the doughnuts but then left it in the box. Clearly they need training on food handling. Needless to say I will not be going back. read more

Sadly, as often happens with a successful business, the owners decide that more is better. Now the Daily Dozen has three locations and the quality has suffered. The donuts are smaller, the prices have skyrocketed, and it has lost the once "corner donut shop" ambiance that made it special. Trying to support too many family members? Wow! What a great spot! I ordered 5 dozen of the cider mill donuts for a church event. The service was absolutely fantastic! She let me try a few donuts before I decided which one to get and was just super friendly in general. The interior has that cozy diner vibe, where it feels like everybody knows everybody by name. It's cash only and the hours are a bit complicated, but they are open on Sundays until 1pm. I tried four different donuts today and they were all delicious! Wow! I am a huge fan of custard donuts and this place is IT! The custard is supreme and they put it in a French crueler chocolate topped donut! Did I die? driving around the east side, my husband and i saw a sign that said hour detroit best donuts 2018. we are always on the lookout for a good donut. we stopped in and they were almost completely out of donuts, but they smelled great. we decided to put it on our list of must try places. returned the next weekend and we were not disappointed. we love a good cake or sour cream donut, and these did not disappoint. they also were 10 bucks for 12 donuts, you don't see that price anymore now that donuts are the new fancy dessert. can't wait to come back for another dozen! love, juston read more

These are the best donuts for the price in the area, and it is a family owned business. I think the only downfall for some are they don't have a drive thru, but they are extremely quick and friendly! Haven't had a donut better than these anywhere in the country. Owners are absolutely awesome. My husband's favorite is the large cinnamon rolls. The Michigan cherry with chocolate on top is like eating chocolate covered cherries. Chocolate on the lemon filled come in a close second. read more
