Hands down the best donut i had!! By 10 am on Saturday they were almost sold out it tells you something. We tried lemon custard and custard french cruller. It's hard to mess up a donut and they didn't! Lol I like the simple design and layout and it was very clean. Huge parking lot so that was a breeze. Staff was nice and made some good recommendations. The Strawberry Moonrock, Bowtie and Buttermilk were all fire. read more

I ordered about 10 doughnuts for our small office on National Doughnut Day last week, giving my credit card and order to a gentleman over the telephone. He was helpful, quick and cordial. Unfortunately there were a few flavors we wanted that they were out of, but that happens at a lot of doughnut spots - if you're not there before things sell out you're SOL - so, I do not fault the place for not having a few of the flavors we wanted. Price point is good and the doughnuts we did get were delightful. See the photo I posted for the yums we got. This is a great neighborhood spot to check out when you need that sweet morning sugar or are going to a get together and need to bring something for the gang. read more

I didn't know this place existed until my friend told me recently. It's definitely better than other donuts. I'm really glad they had the good flavors people told me to try. Came here to get my paczki for Fat Tuesday. I arrived late morning/early afternoon and there was still a decent selection and not a long line at all, only one person ordering in front of me. I got a 6 pack, 2 raspberry, 1 strawberry, 1 apple, 1 buttercream, 1 custard. When I got home I was disappointed that instead of the apple, I was given the lemon, which I did not care for at all :( I even watched him grab each one, so I'm not sure how it got mixed up. Overall they tasted good (minus the lemon one) and I would definitely come back for other items! read more

Avon Donuts in Pontiac was closed so we had to look for a donut shop in Telegraph or Woodward. Thru Yelp reviews, we decided to try this,or the duck donuts in Troy. This location was much closer to us going home. There's a variety of donuts to choose from. I like their fruity pebbles. Only disappointment is that there is not enough cereals to cover the top. The moonrock was also small in portion size. The cruller looks like it's not store made. Regardless, the flavors of soft and sweet donuts is there. I've heard wonderful things about Daily Dozen and decided to give them a try. I specifically ordered 2 dozen donuts for my daughters birthday party, over 1 week in advance and prepaid for the order (a mix of red velvet - my daughters favorite, glazed and sprinkles.). We also had a kiddo with a peanut allergy and heard that they take it seriously and will take precaution to ensure there is no cross exposure with nuts and or shared baking sheets, etc. Two days before pick up, I called to adjust the pickup time slightly and the owner was not recalling the details of the order. He said that if I pick up by 7am, there should be no issues having the donuts I wanted available. I stated that I had pre-ordered, therefore I wanted the donuts I ordered, boxed up and ready to go. Otherwise...what is the point of pre-ordering. He said "no problem." Fast forward to pickup day. My husband walked in and only half of the donuts were packed up in a box and the owner said he ran out of red velvet!!! Why he didn't pack up the order first thing in the AM is beyond me. My daughter was heart broken. Word of caution, the owner seems friendly enough but is NOT reliable. I was also concerned that he didn't take the nut allergy seriously. As for the donuts. They are average. I'll be taking my business back to Donut Cutter! read more

So strange. I swore I had a review posted on here but it was gone. I had to try out this place out as I make it my business to check out any viable donut shop within the state and if I am anywhere near it. I always get the plain, glazed and sour cream, those are my litmus test for donuts. I took a couple of bites of each and found them to be decent, not special. I will say I had the misfortune of going on a Saturday afternoon when the picking were rather slim and I was hoping to check out a fancier donut but they were running low by the early afternoon. Additionally it wasn't busy at all when I went and it was just me myself and I. Was that a bad sign? In a pinch this place works but if there were more offerings that day I might have been more impressed. read more

Great donuts and a nice variety. We got there at around 10:30 and almost everything was available, though selling quick. Super friendly owner, we left saying we want to be that happy at work every day! Honorable mention: moon rock, coconut custard and apple stick, they were top notch. Plus, they serve Hyperion Coffee signature blended for The Daily Dozen. Next time will try traditional and chocolate glazed. Totally worth a trip. read more

This was OK. Nothing spectacular about this place. I can't say the donuts were incredibly good, but they weren't bad. Service was fine and I was the only one in the place at 9a on a Sunday, so it was quick. Lots of variety to choose from. Their toppings for the chocolate dip and fruity pebble donut reminds me more of frosting than icing or a glaze, so I wasn't a fan. read more

The long awaited second location of Daily Dozen is open!! They opened last week just before the Dream Cruise festivities. I do love me some donuts so I stopped in on my way to work this morning and got a custard filled crueller (yes custard filled) and a maple crunch. The very nice gentleman behind the counter even offered me a free dutch crunch donut hole, how nice. The donuts were rally fresh and super tasty. I loved them both. There were so many delicious flavors to choose from that it was hard to decide so I will have to come back soon to sample the other flavors. The shop itself is small, but you do not need much space for a donut shop, since they just opened a few days ago I think they are still decorating yet, but again, I came to grab a donut not for the interior design. The who employees were super friendly as well. read more

One of the best donuts you'll have in metro Detroit. It's not quite on the overall level of Avon in Pontiac, but you can't get a bad donut at Daily Dozen. Not only that, they stay fresh even left out overnight, which indicates its top notch quality. The salted caramel sour cream donut, however, is one of the best donuts, if not the best, I've ever had. Certainly worth a trip to this place for that single item. Soft, chewy, and the perfect consistency which is the true standard of any donut, Daily Dozen hits this one out of the park. My only complaint is that they run out of them too quickly! read more

Meh. I tried a honey glazed chocolate donut. It was ok. It is no comparison to Holy Moly Donuts chocolate glazed donut. Yes, both donuts are black chocolate cake donuts with a clear glaze all over, but Holy Moly's are more chocolatey. Daily Dozen's honey chocolate glaze didn't have much flavor in general. FYI - I have no financial interest or am I part of the Holy Moly organization. I'm simply a fan of their donuts. read more

I love this place and it's become somewhat or a ritual for me and my son to head here on Sunday mornings when we feel a craving for donuts. The service is fantastic and my little guy loves that he gets a free donut hole every time we go in. On top of that, the donuts are amazing! The sour cream donuts are always delicious, the moonrocks are my personal favorite, and my son thinks the custard cruller is the greatest donut ever! The best part though goes back to the service, even if the donuts weren't as good as they are, you get a great experience every time. The fact that my 4yo gets acknowledged makes him feel like he's a part of it too and he loves going with me there. Today I was finally able to try the daily dozen. I love donuts and heard a lot of great things about this place. I was a bit skeptical as I also heard great things about a donut shop on Southfield rd that turned out to be very sub par. However, daily dozen definitely does not disappoint and the reviews proved to be true. I got a bakers dozen and tried multiple flavors everything was moist and flavorful. My favorite donut, the sour cream, is what I judge most places by; it was also great with a crispy outer surface and very moist inside. I'd definitely go back. read more

I can't believe I haven't gone in here sooner! On a recent Sunday, I ventured out solo, left the boyfriend in bed, and ran out to get some donuts. Walking in this place was pure joy -- They had good music going, art on the walls, friendly staff, and the donuts were great. I got a chai tea for the boyfriend, and it was delicious! Super gingery. The only thing keeping my review from five stars is that by 11 am, the donuts as fresh as at a shop that continues to make donuts throughout the day. read more

My sugar rush has been satisfied!!! I've been wanting to try this place for so long & I finally got my chance! Pleasant service & a nice selection of doughnuts! The parking lot is awful but you can park around the corner or in back. The sour cream cake doughnut was to die for!! My friend LOVED the apple fritter & nothing can beat the lemon filled (maybe just a teeny bit more filling! ;) -- I was totally planning on sharing with my co-workers but after tasting them I decided to covet the rest & take them home! Will definitely be back soon, I NEEDED a plain sugar dipped glaze but they were all sold out so I didn't get to try one today. I know they open at 6am so perhaps I'll have to get there sooner! Make sure you physically speak to someone if you are placing a special order. I wanted to order two dozen chocolate kream donuts. I placed an order through the "contact us" section their website, but heard nothing in the way of a confirmation. The next day, I made a phone call around noon to again confirm, but got voicemail. The morning I went to pick up the donuts they, of course, did not have my order. As far as the food goes, my students enjoyed the chocolate custard donuts. read more

The first attempt to get donuts was to get some paczki for Fat Tuesday a few months ago, but the box of dozen wasn't much of a savings than buying them individually. Was only $2 save for a box of dozen. Individual paczki $3.50, a dozen for $40. :/ Today I decided to grab a half dozen for our staff at the store. I got a glazed donut, apple fritters, custard with chocolate frosting, cinnamon roll, red velvet and a sour cream donut. Half dozen was $12, that's $2 a donut. Oh my. The apple fritter and the cinnamon roll donuts are rather big, that usually worries me, big donuts doesn't always mean it's better. The apple fritter was crunchy and textured, not mock apples and a lot of dough bumps, which isn't a bad thing. The cinnamon roll was big and billowy, got a big of the cinnamon flavor in the bullseye, but not much hint through the rest of the donut. The sour cream donut wasn't bad, it's not as sour cream or buttermilk flavored as I was hoping. The red velvet and glazed were decent. The custard chocolate was disappointing to me, the custard wasn't as good as I had hoped at all and rather sparse too. All of the donuts are light and fluffy as far as the dough, it's not bad.

Service was super friendly and patient, allowing me to take my time to pick out what I wanted. It's hard to decide with the selection they have. It's a very clean and updated decor, to go only. The donuts are insulso, period. Supported by only a good concept and sheer will for a fan base out in the real world. I like the idea of tearing apart bite sized Tim-bit-like balls, total reimagining of what a donut could be. I think it's cute; but does it serve me well? Not me, or my partner agrees. It looks unassuming from the outside, but don't let that fool you. I went in the afternoon and there were still lots of donuts available. Service was great. The chocolate glazed was A++++++. I've been going to daily dozen for 15 years and have never been so pleased! The whole family is great and will go out of their way to make you what doughnuts you want when they run out! The new shop is awesome but I still love the good ol Warren location as well! I have never had a better doughnut in my life and if you haven't tried this place it's a must! Really good. Get there early or its slim pickings. Coconut custard is awesome and so are the strawberry anythings! They have espresso and friendly service. Great place. Reasonable as well. read more
