When I first found Dahing plants I was stoked. I buy a lot of plants and I'd prefer to spend money on local businesses. The prices were cheap and the plants were full and looked nice when they came. That lasted all of a month before they looked like crap. I wrote in to the company for advice twice. At this point I had placed 2 ordered because the palm (only plant still alive) at the time wasn't THAT bad and a great price (still dying though). I thought it was me but I tried all the advice as well as spent $100s of dollars on new pots, soil, fertilizers, humidifiers, plant lights etc to keep these plants alive...I did EVERYTHING I was instructed to do by the company and they have all died rapidly. I know there is no guarantees with plants but I have 32 others plants that have no problem and I'm not an idiot nor did I neglect. Though the company has been very sweet and helpful this doesn't help me with the now over $500 worth I've spent including the plants. I understand also that they won't give me my money back (which I never asked for honestly) or replace the plants (which I'm afraid would just die as well). So unfortunately this is my review. I give it 2 star for the great customer service. read more

Best flower shop! They have the lowest prices in NYC and the staff is actually very friendly.

Honestly this place is great. They have a good selection, great prices and healthy plants. Customer education can use some work but I only go there when I know exactly what I'm looking for so it doesn't bother me much.. but it is something to consider. There is a trendy neighbor, around the corner that sells a lot of the same stuff at a much higher price than Da Hing. They have excellent service.. but u pay for that in retail price. Now I make sure to go to both places for a price and quality check because sometimes The trendy competitor has unique stuff that's worth the cost. But I almost always end up buying from Da Hing. And no, my plants don't die the next month. I've had some of my da Hing plants for years. Case in point.. I've got a large pot that I wanted to put a ZZ plant in.. similar size and Health. Competitor : $75 with a $20 potting fee Da Hing: $50 with a $5 potting fee See what I mean? read more

I bought plants from here twice: One, an ivy, was infested with spider mites upon 1 week of quarantine (always quarantine your new plants and observe for bugs). The other one which was great for some time, but soon had scales on it. I was wondering why the leaves were falling off with black fungus and had thought I overfertilized it, but no, it was scales! Avoid at all cost, the price is good but it's a waste of money. read more

Great family owned plant shop in the Chinatown/LES neighborhood. They offer an array of plants and get new inventory every week. The family who works here are also super nice and try their best to help you. They are also much more reasonably priced than other shops in the area. ****Beware of prices and getting ripped off.**** I was told by a friend this place sold a plant I was looking for for 15. When I went to buy it, Calvin decides to charge me 25. Asking why my friend just purchased it a few days before for 15, he claimed the price went up. A few days later another friend went to inquire about the exact same plant and he told her it was 15. You may get charged more for no reason. When I confronted Calvin about this he claimed he mistook the plant for another one. (LOL) Im pretty sure as a plant seller he knows the difference. I cant support businesses that do this. These people are unfair and greedy. read more

I come to this plant shop often, as it is near my mother's home. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, plants are well taken care of. They also always have a great variety of things to choose from and the prices are good. I was pleased with my original purchase about a month and a half ago. I was trying to use local NYC to help after the pandemic. First delivery communication great delivered with care. So I decided to order again, so today I wait for an order, delivery person refuses to bring up the large planter and leave it at the apartment door which they had done in the previously. Also refused to leave it with the doorman. Instead, I had full contact with delivery person less than 2 inches in my face as he tried to pass me a large planter in a bag that never made into my apartment. Look I get it if he didn't want to bring the items up however I live in a doorman building and he didn't want to leave it with the staff for me to retrieve. I bought a monstera deliciosa here a couple weeks ago, and soon realized that the plant was infested with three types of bugs - gnats, spider mites, and spiders. A plant store shouldn't sell infected plants generally, but three different types of critters is excessive. When I reached out to them to try to remedy the situation, they were firm that they couldn't do anything. I'd be weary about buying plants from here :/ read more

After stumbling in on this plant store and seeing their amazing selection, I made sure to make a note to come back. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, with extensive knowledge on their entire inventory of plants. My girlfriend and I ended up purchasing not one, but two incredible plants. A beautiful 6 foot Fiddle Leaf Fig and a small Burgundy Rubber Plant. They also re-pot your plant for no charge if you purchase a pot. AND they deliver. Bought a Monstera from here. The plants here are not quite as groomed as the more millennial-focused places like the sill, but the selection is wider and the prices (on pots especially) are lower. The staff is knowledgeable, English speaking, and always willing to give advice on plant care. The monstera is doing great, will come here again. read more

Found this gem of a store when I was going to 99 Favors next door for hotpot. Da Hing doesn't look big from the outside, but there is actually quite a good selection of flowers and houseplants inside. There are cute succulents, blooming orchids, hanging philodendrons, and gorgeous floral arrangements. They also have pots, planters, gardening materials, and traditional Chinese decorative pieces in the back. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are open to answering questions. Da Hing is a great place to pick out some greenery for your apartment. read more

First off, I LOVE the variety in plants in this shop. It's like going to a Sephora for plants! I've bought a few plants from here. I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, so initially I took the risk with buying a $15 baby monstera (had no split leaves). I repotted it in a slightly larger pot a few days later (i usually repot after purchase), and it's been thriving for the past couple of months. It has grown so many new leaves, and the most recent ones have started developing splits too! It's become one of my favorite plants. Recently, I bought a few other plants from there -- a small bird of paradise in a 6 inch pot (hard to find in NY), a rubber tree, and string of pearls -- all for very good prices. It's been a few weeks and no issues so far! Will update if there are any. Generally, I know if there's a plant I can't find, this is the place to go! :) read more

I went there the other day looking for some plants, the gentlemen there was acting like he didn't speak English, I asked about a prayer plant he didn't know what I was talking about, when I asked him how much a plant cost that was outside he said 80 dollars, I looked around some more and found the same plant for 70 dollars when I told him that it was 70 dollars he acted again like he didn't speak English. I ended up going to West 28th street between 6th and 7th avenues and found so many plants. I will not be going back. read more

Her service was so excellent and her pricing so reasonable that I asked her if I could hug her at the end of our transaction. Extremely rude and unfriendly. I was ignored upon entering this establishment by the younger guy who was casually hanging out in the back and turned his back to me after seeing that I was coming his way. I went on to ask the florist for assistance and she immediately called upon the younger guy who obviously couldn't be bothered . Once I was able to communicate to him what I was looking for he without any instruction quickly walked me outside to the sidewalk to show me the plants. Once we both realized he didn't have what I was looking for he then told me "if you don't see it then we don't have it" and promptly walked away. I want to make it clear that I was the only customer in the store at this time. I will never set foot in this place again and I'm sure they wanted to make that the point. read more
