The young employee who took my order from the sidewalk was incredibly kind and apologetic when she let me know one color of roses had run out. She worked with me and suggested lilies, four roses, and baby's breath for each bouquet, letting me know the price of each flower and calculating the total for me before I confirmed my order. I appreciated the step by step transparency. I'm sure you can find a cheaper florist or less pricy bouquets from a corner store but I was in a bind and they were open later than all other florists. I called ahead of purchasing to ensure they would have the right colors of flowers that I preferred and was told I would need to wait until the next day for delivery so they could source the flowers. We specifically requested no pink/ lilac / or any light colors in the bouquet. Only deep red/ magenta/ black colors. We received a photo from our client that we purchased the flowers for and were extremely disappointed to see all the flowers we ask specifically asked to not be in the bouquet. Our request had been completely ignored. The florist told me there was no pink or any light colors in the bouquet. There is even a blue color which was not in the original bouquet or the request. Very disappointed in the service . I called and sent the photo of the flowers and they person argued that they didn't make any money on the flowers? I paid $250 for the arrangement and it's a flower business. They also argued about the colors saying no pink or light colors were used. I know I may not be a florist but I do know colors. I was searching for a small business in New York to send flowers to for my friend's birthday since I'm in another state. Came across their website and was thrilled with the arrangements I saw and thought the price points were fairly reasonable for what they advertised. I happened upon this lovely shop while in Chinatown today, so glad I stopped in. They have a number of rare house plants that I haven't seen in the nurseries near my place in Brooklyn. I bought a beautiful Polka Dot Begonia, and the price was better than fair. I usually buy certain plants online as they are hard to find in my area of Brooklyn and/or can be expensive. This plant was actually less than what it would have cost to buy online, and much taller than what I would have received. So was definitely a great deal. There was one particular very rare plant which I had never seen before that I asked the price on and it was quite expensive, the owner told me I could probably find it online for cheaper, which is true as I looked it up later. I really appreciated his honesty and that there was no upsell at all. They also have many more common house plants and beautiful flowers too. Everything in the shop looked super healthy, you can tell they really love what they do. I know the general prices for many plants- their prices are overall very fair or even better than what I've seen in shops near me and online. It's nice to buy from a local family owned business. They had such a variety, prices were reasonable, and the young woman working there was so friendly and sweet. Little cute flower shop with very good service. I was buying some narcissus for my house and found some here with good quality. The saleswoman was nice and taught me all the details I need to know to keep the plants in good conditions and she also cleaned up the bulb for me to make sure the plant in the water wouldn't get moldy in the future. HOWEVER, the big downside of this flower shop is that everything is overpriced. The narcissus I got is $5 for each bulb - can't you believe it?! I got one before in UWS and was only $2~3 I swear. The little pot of plant was ~$15, which I originally wanted to buy. At IKEA, each little pot is lower than $5. I am not familiar with flower market but given my limited experience, this high price is unheard of. Maybe I have been spoiled by the low price I have been luckily entitled to at IKEA and UWS. The plants are mediocre, but the customer service was great - so for that reason I'll give them a 4. As soon as we started looking at the plants outside the shop someone came to assist us. We had a woman who was very knowledgeable and helpful - you can tell that she knew what she was talking about. We got a jasmine that's already not in the best condition, and it's only been a couple of days. My advice: don't get a plant that's been sitting outside the store. I'm no botanist, but these extreme temperatures can't be good for the plants (unless it's a cactus). The ones sitting outside looked scorched. read more

I went into those flower shop expecting beautiful pink roses. I asked the lady there to show me pink roses. I saw some pretty ones and I told her I'll get those and she said she has to sell the ones in the front first. And the ones she took out pink wrinkled dying flowers.. I stopped her after seeing the flowers and said I'll get the red ones instead and she gave me that rude look like I annoyed her or something for a second. She took out the red roses and I was expecting the roses to be better quality. This is a small flower shop. They usually have a lot of plants placed outside of the sidewalk. When I walk pass by, it may get a little overwhelming with plants in the way and tourist walking by and with locals standing in front of the shop looking at the flowers. Two staffs, I dealt with was pleasantly nice and helpful! I had brought plants and flowers from here a few times. They also have a good insect killer, but they are always low on stock somehow. They need to order more! I have gotten a flower bouquet delivered to me from here ;) and I have ordered a flower bouquet to be sent out. When I placed an order on a flower, I have showed them a picture on something I wanted and they suggested something similar which was still pretty. The price was reasonable and they had delivery. I was torn between giving this place 2 or 3 but thinking back to what happened on my wedding day, I relented and decide to give it a 2. After searching at least 8 different florists between Flushing and Ctown, I decided to go with Manhattan Florist mainly b/c Susan spoke perfect English and really seemed like she had an eye for design. You'll probably save a bit of money by getting your flowers here compared to other florists in Manhattan but if cost is your # 1 factor, then I would go with other chinese florists as their prices were alot more competitive (plus they charge tax here which is uncommon for chinese florists). Anyways, so we had discussed getting calalily arrangements for my bridal bouqet. I really wanted calalillies and that's all I ask about when I was shopping around. Susan was extremely thorough and even put something together for visualization which none of the other florists had done. So what happens on the morning of the BIG DAY when my BIL picked up the flowers back to my apt? No calalillies! It was the only thing I looked for and nowhere to be found. The flowers still look gorgeous but still.. I had made that my # 1 requirement and paid a bundle for it! I was stressed out as it is and what she offered was to knock off a small portion of the bill. I was ok with that b/c what else can I do? Of course at the end of the day, it wouldn't have mattered as much but still.. still.. still.. Lesson learned - always call the week before to confirm your order. But who knew!! It's a really nice little shop with flowers displayed all over on the outside. So as you walk by, it's like walking through a little garden. So glad I stumbled across this charming little florist shop yesterday. They have an enticing array of houseplants. Everything was in top condition very healthy and vigorous. I had trouble picking out just three things including a very fine looking juniper bonsai. I wanted to buy one of everything! Any one of them would make a fine gift. Naturally I had no idea what to get, the shop keepers where very helpful in picking out the flowers with me. They gave suggestions, showed me samples of different arrangements. And was being very helpful and sincere with all of my questions. You know it's a nice bouquet when multiple random strangers ask "are those for me?" Consistently great floral arrangements, family from out of state used to rely on big chain florists to deliver flowers to us during the holidays, they were always pedestrian and substandard. We ended up just telling our relatives to STOP using the big chains and just call Susan - ever since then our floral arrangements from family and friends have been GREAT!
