Great ambience and great music. Come here for great Jack specials and all walks of life. I really like Amber and Miriam for great service. I took away a star for the balding guy who asked for my ID and didn't like that it was a month expired and asked my friend if he had a knife/box cutters. Very strange. Maybe some issue has happened here that I'm unaware of. But seemed as if he was profiling since my friend is Hispanic and trying to prove something. We've never been treated this way before. Minus him it's a great spot. Would like to return but probably will stick with Zombies and Hidden Tavern. These spots have never disrespected my friend and have great sound systems.

Karaoke, drinks and fun.... 7days a week!!! Yes please. The only issues I've run into coming here is the limited parking space.

Not your average karaoke bar. Don't be surprised if the ameture Mariah Carey or Lynard Skynard lead vocalist shows up. Bring your A game!

Cool dive bar, would be better if the DJ's didn't put all the employees in line to sing over the customers. Every time!

One of the employees informed us we could not take them into the room due to "possible spills on the wood floors". When asking for clarification why we couldn't bring cups or even tumblers when we're already going to be buying alcohol etc., and those cups would also be "open" and without a cap, they totally shifted gears and just told us they wanted us to pay for water, as if the $150+ for the room was not enough. Another higher employee came in very rudely lecturing us about people "taking advantage" of their "generous hospitality". The whole interaction was so needlessly intense and awkward we would have left on the spot if we hadn't already put our card down. The room itself - karaoke setup is really just YouTube with a sound system. There was a horrible lag so we spent about 2 minutes between songs just trying to get things working. And to top it all off, they added a 20% gratuity to everyone's individual tab on top of a 20% gratuity for the room. They don't even provide any service to the room! we each individually had to go to the bar and take time out of the room to order food and drinks. None of this these policies about the water or gratuity was mentioned up front, despite questions we asked in advance. Do not waste your money or time at this nickle and dime establishment. You have YouTube at home. Just buy a nice mic and speaker.

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Can't wait to do another Moz Smiths Disco here. -- Panic On The Streets of San Antonio

BLUF: Downtown gem, if you have a dog, bring them, they'll love it and so will you. Great drink…read morespecials, coffee, and food truck on site. As a downtown dog owner, I really can't say enough good things about this place. My apartment has a small fenced in dog "park" but it pales in comparison to the offering here at Hops and Hounds. They have a big and small dog area, and during peak hours there's a park attendant monitoring dog behaviors and keeping the area clean and safe. All of them are very attentive. Don't have a dog? Still a great place to hang out and have a drink. They have several beers on draft, with rotating taps, all of the in-demand can options, and a full bar. They also recently added a coffee and pizza venue. Love the coffee, but I haven't tried the pizza yet so I can speak to its quality. Weekly drink specials, of note are Margarita Mondays and Tap it Tuesday. The Monday offering is savings on their delicious margaritas, and the Tuesday offering is savings on any of their draft beers. Things worth knowing ahead of time: The dog park isn't free, you have to download an app, and make an account even for a day pass. The day pass is $5, but there's a monthly pass for $25 that is worth it if you live in the area. Children under 18 aren't allowed in the dog park, for their safety and the dogs, which I appreciate. On weekends there's a staffed bar that you can order drinks from without leaving the enclosed dog area. No on-site parking, but there's a paid lot adjacent to their property, and earlier in the day you can parallel park on the street for free. (Street parking is always free, but there's rarely open spots during peak hours) They have a food truck on site, Benjie's Munch Truck is a mainstay, and sometimes they have a second food truck.

When I ordered two…read morecans of soda this past Saturday 4/18, the bartender had already pre-selected a 25% tip on the screen after I tapped my card and before handing the device back to me to sign. Thankfully I always review my bill before signing, so I was able to remove it--but that shouldn't be necessary. I completely understand tipping and have no issue doing so when it's earned, but automatically pre-selecting a high tip--especially for something as simple as handing over canned drinks--feels inappropriate. Charging over $3 for a can of soda is one thing, but customers should still have the freedom to choose their own tip amount without pressure. What made it worse was noticing the same thing happen to the customer in front of me, who only bought a single can of Coke. The bartender (tall female with blondish hair) also advised the previous customer that they couldn't pay with cash when he brought out a $20 to pay. Are you serious!!?? This kind of practice comes across as dishonest and reflects poorly on the establishment. I hope management addresses this, because it definitely impacts the overall experience.

I'm always drawn to cocktail bars with a strong theme, and places like this usually live or die by how well they commit to the experience. Right away, the space is visually striking. The pink-forward aesthetic isn't totally my lane, but I can appreciate how fresh and easy on the eyes it feels. That said, it leans more high-energy lounge than intimate cocktail bar. For me, it's missing a bit of that dim, red-lit, date-night allure that makes a true cocktail spot feel seductive and immersive. At times, it feels closer to a club atmosphere than a tucked-away lounge. What really pulled me in, though, was the speakeasy concept and this is where Pink Shark starts to shine. The hidden entrance in the back delivers exactly the kind of exclusivity I was hoping for. Inside, the vibe shifts: loungy, modern, and just the right amount of sexy. The minimalist design works, and the lighting and décor pop without feeling overdone. Music can make or break a place like this, and on Saturday (4/25), the DJ nailed it. A smooth mix of EDM with reworked classics kept the energy up without overwhelming the space. Paired with a solid sound system, it elevated the entire experience. On the drinks side, there's a bit of a split. The signature cocktail menu is solid and clearly the focus, but for a speakeasy-style bar, the overall selection feels a little limited. I did appreciate seeing El Tesoro Reposado and Blanco on hand; always a good sign. I went with an Old Fashioned using the reposado, and my date had a Paloma with the blanco (based on a prep recommendation). Both were well-executed, and the bartender was accommodating and easygoing, which goes a long way. Service was smooth and quick, and we lucked out with seats at the bar at least for a while. Fair warning: around 11pm, they clear out the bar seating as the crowd builds. It shifts the energy again toward more of a standing-room, nightlife feel, but if you can snag one of the couches, you're in a good spot. Overall, Pink Shark has a lot going for it and even more potential. The speakeasy element is easily its strongest feature, and I'd love to see that identity pushed further especially with a deeper, more classic-leaning cocktail list (think Black Manhattan or a proper Boulevardier). There's something really good here it just hasn't fully settled into its lane yet. I'll definitely be returning soon. Texas Mozzer
