This is a wee bit old, but figure better late than never. I see my friend wrote hers a little late, too. Ha! Anyhow, we had a large group of friends during Halloween weekend and after our dinner on the River, a friend said, "Hey, lets all go to Be Kind & Rewind!" We said, "Um, okay!" We were already in costume so that was great. The place is pretty big and you pretty much dance everywhere. There are several bars. It's easy to get overlooked by the bartendar so you have to be prepared to stand your ground and not get bumped to the side (with the customers and not the staff). The drinks were good (not the greatest) but I loved the syringe shots. Those were fun. It was fun trying to walk around the whole place when it was packed. Very difficult but entertaining. Ladies, don't wait last minute to use the restroom. There was always a line! Overall, a lot of fun! .. ...
This place is my vibe!!! So flash back from the past but cool!!! This is a must try place!!! Service is awesome and the bartender is cool!!' Food is available for a little snack if needed but up to you!!!
Drinks are top tier. Wait staff was kind and amazing. We had our co-ed bachlor/Bachelorette party here. And omg it was such a great time for these 2 millennials.

This is a novel place with loads of fun throw backs to meander about and look at! I loved the 80s, 90s, and 00s music videos playing and the free arcade games. So fun and nostalgic! We went during a very slow time. We're in our late 30s and late 40s so we don't start our nights at 10. We usually end them then. Haha! So the bartender was quick, neither super friendly or rude. We didn't eat so I can't say anything about that (if they even have food, which I'm doubtful about), but we had two frozen margaritas. They were out of a machine. They were meh. This is definitely more of a club spot so not totally our style, but we really enjoyed checking out the nostalgic decor, playing a few games, and looking at the fun Christmas decor. I'm happy we visited, as I've been curious about this place, but I think I got my fill in the one visit.
Such an impressive venue. Security in front is in point, majes one feel safe. Bartenders were so sweet and helpful. Great drinks, service and experience. Music got everyone into the groove. I really want to come back .
One of the coolest bars I ever went to! I decided to pull on a weekday during happy hour to avoid the long lines and huge crowds. I was able to fully experience the bar and take my photos in peace. They perfectly encapsulate the 80's , 90's and early 2000's aesthetic giving you nostalgia overload. They had music from various eras playing which takes you down memory lane. The ambiance was amazing and very nostalgic. I liked the different sections throughout the place. This place is a must if you're ever in San Antonio!
Lot of fun video games to play which most are free. Guard with a bullet proof vest frisking you when you come in, I appreciate safety but not being from area makes me think that this place gets wild at night. Glad I was there around dinner time. Not a remarkable drink selection
I really wanted to have fun here but... This place really tried hard to be a different bar experience. There's pinball machines, retro displays, a ton of places to take some fun photos, and a bunch more. I understand they wanted a retro vibe and fun atmosphere, and I typically LOVE places like that, but this bar really just... missed. Instead of creating the cool aesthetic they were clearly going for, it made the place feel old. To be honest, it was lame. And then there's the alcohol. Never in my life have I had such a watered down drink. It was downright insulting to watch the bartender fill my 'drink' literally 75% of the way with water before adding any form of booze. I paid $15 for a whiskey sour to essentially get a water bottle sour? No thanks. I'd wanted to try some of the fun looking Halloween themed drinks, but after that I stopped at the one. If it wasn't for the group I went with, I wouldn't have stayed the thirty minutes I ended up staying before I bailed. 'Disappointed' doesn't begin to describe my feelings for this place. Biggest waste of my time this year. Unless you are going out of your way to find an 'older' bar with a slower vibe, find a better bar. You deserve better.
Cute nostalgic nightclub just off the Riverwalk! Could not resist the 90s/00s theme. Loved the music and whimsical theme nights. The fact they have a $1 Tuesdays special makes me want to come to San Antonio just to try that. Lots of fun video and arcade games in the back room. Do not miss the human claw machine (not sure it's meant to be that, but if you figure it out you'll get a great photo opp). Definitely worth a stop in your bar crawl.
I have seen this place all over social media and we had a girls night and decided to come check out this place. Love the theme of it and they're currently all decked out for Halloween so it's that much cuter. This place is bigger than what it looks like, highly recommend you walk around the whole place (past the big dance floor) and check out the other rooms :) Bartender was great and got us drinks super fast.

My husband and I came here for a drink based on a recommendation, and unfortunately, our experience was pretty bizarre. After just one drink, we were told we couldn't be served anymore. The strange part was that we had only had one drink, and neither of us were being disruptive, belligerent, or otherwise out of line. We ended up going to another bar afterward and had absolutely no issues being served. The bar itself is very cool and nostalgic, but the service really left us confused and disappointed. Definitely not the experience we expected. 0/10 would recommend! read more

Be Kind and Rewind is a great place to spend the evening dancing to retro music and enjoy drinks from the bar. The decor is so cool and a great photo opportunity. I've always had great service from the servers and the bar no matter how busy they are. My only wish is that they had a larger dance floor as it can be limiting. read more

When I went the drinks were expensive and all the games were broken. the service was good but the place was mostly empty. The ambiance looked exciting but seemed dirty and run down. I would go back if they kept the place in better repair. read more

So here is an update. Its been over a year since we have been to BKR and the place is still badass! Staff is super friendly which is weird in San Antonio. The people watching is on point! So much tacos de ojo here. Jams were great but way too much Beyoncé is played here and she is the DEVIL! I also wish they played the Spanish jams from back in the day but oh well cant have it all! I cant wait till we get another night away from my kids to come back to BKR and party badass! read more

This just might have been the coolest bar I've ever been to. It was recommended during a river cruise on our recent trip to San Antonio and it did NOT disappoint. If you love music, neon lights, VHS, arcades and anything else reminiscent of the 80s, you MUST check out this bar. Let's take it back. Wayyyy back!!! We're talking about that 70s, 80s, & 90s kinda vibe here. I imagine if I was old enough to hit the clubs back then, this would have been my experience. All the old school jams and decor, makes this place one to remember. For all the young people reading this post, "No cap..it's cool asf!" For the oldies, "It's super rad and far out!". Seriously though, it's a whole vibe. I'm not a huge fan of their drinks, although they aren't bad either. In my opinion, they are a tad bit basic. With that said, the bartending service is on point. Depending on the night, they can get pretty packed, but it doesn't interfere with how quickly they get your food & drinks out. Saving the best for last; decor! One word: WOW!!! I refuse to believe anyone comes here and doesn't pull their phone out to take pictures. Fellas..be prepared to be annoyed at your girl. She's definitely going to want you to take bookoo pics of her. We definitely had a good time here. The music was on point and the space was spread out enough to not feel like your on top of one another. The servers were quick with our drinks and we weren't waiting for a long time to get a bartenders attention. Only downside is that it's downtown and we had to park at Rivercenter mall in which we paid 15$ for parking and walked to the bar. Also, at the time we went the restrooms were broken which forced us to use the porta potties outside. read more
Make sure to take an Uber here or plan on paying almost $30 for parking in the parking garage because Be kind and rewind is located in the middle of downtown near the Riverwalk. We arrived around 11:45 on a Saturday night and the lines were outrageous...i think next time we will arrive earlier to avoid the lines and crowds from the other bars nearby. To start of my night I tried the disco punch with the disco ball cup, which is extra, but it's for the aesthetic. The drink was excellent and I was able to reuse my cup for my second drink! & Of course the music was on point but I've always adored 90's music anyways! Sadly because of the crowd, I didn't experience any of the photo opportunities they had nor did I see the game room!! Oh, and to add the floors were gross and super sticky. As a child of the 80's what can I say? This place is amazing. Super Retro and soooooooo many memories. This place is decked out in so much 80's memorabilia that it was hard to focus in just one area. Everywhere you looked, you spotted a different 80's gem that triggered another memory. We met some friends on a Sunday night and apparently it was karaoke night. Not just karaoke night but 80s karaoke. Let's just say it was fun watching/hearing 1) Millennials sing some of these classic tunes they were unfamiliar with 2) Tipsy GenXers sing songs from their youth 3) Someone really familiar with their choice of song and having them sing and act it out (dude, singing Like A Virgin, I'm looking at you) Not sure what I'm more impressed with, all the memorabilia they managed to collect, their amazing drink menu or their awesome playlist. So-so. Beyond Instagram photos, this place is a pass for me. Stopped in on 22JAN23 @ 415pm. Place was almost dead. Location is the only thing working for this place. The staff isn't rude, but definitely lack personabilty. Wife and I each ordered a drink and were closed out; weren't asked to open a tab or anything. It seemed like they interact more with customers they know from outside the establishment who stop in for a hook-up. Downstairs was closed which was unfortunate and don't get me started on the bathroom situation. If you've ever been deployed, the "cadillacs" will look very familiar. Then again, this is Military City. Drinks are about $10/ea and the margarita is easily one of the worst downtown; taste like straight mix and extra sugar. The decor and different themes throughout are cool but I would only stop in here for a drink to either kick my night off or end it. read more
