I visited The Lucky Duck because they advertised having "free" crawfish. Let's just say I was deceived. First, I found out that you could only get the crawfish if you ordered a drink. Then, after buying a second drink, I found out that you were only able to get one order of crawfish. I was highly disappointed. Nonetheless, the drinks were pretty good. They had a deal where you could get $7 champagne bottles (mimosas), so I gave them a pass. They did a good job at making sure tables were clean and ready for use. You gotta check out the restroom if you're wanting a cute photo op. I won't give any details, but trust me on this one. Decent music, kid friendly, & good vibes!

Loved the live music! Open, spacious bar with upstairs seating as well. When we got there they were having FREE CRAWFISH with any drink ordered! I felt bad that the place next door had crazy loud music. But I really enjoyed lucky duck. Will definitely be back!

They have a new food truck. I'm not gonna say it's not. Bomb is pretty bomb. The service is quick fashion efficient. I honestly just love being here. I always have a great time. It's really chill. It's fine. He plays hits of all different errors. I love it.

The bar is open air/outdoors with some covered roof and two floors. It's very casual and laid back, and for drinks it's a full bar. The upstairs rooftop has a second bar to order from. They have arcade games and a photo booth along with a big screen they'll put games on. I've always had friendly service here and while there's no food here there's usually a taco truck parked outside which is a highlight of going here.

Very cool spot. Another newish bar next to Bentleys and Artisan. Nice open space concept. Colorful vibes. A change from the normals spots you may go to. Definitely worth checking them out or add it to your list of spots to hop around at in the area.

Instagramable moment's throughout

Great drink offering with a good mix of craft and traditional cocktails along with a decent beer selection. Bartender was friendly and I enjoyed the indoor/outdoor space.

Did I show up to this place for the content? Yes. Was it worth the hype? No. We went on a random Sunday afternoon. The ambiance is absolutely laid back lounge vibes. I love that they have a rooftop bar area and have fun games for you to play. Adults like drink, enjoy a rooftop bar and arcade games. There were only a few people so the service was pretty prompt and we were able to comfortably walk about, take pictures, create fun content. Why 3 stars? I didn't enjoy this place enough to spend $10 a drink. Honestly though, I'm a dive bar person at heart though, so when I go hang out with my friends I don't want to chill for awhile and enjoy a few drinks. I couldn't see myself doing that here on a regular basis unless they had a really good happy hour or drink specials. Games drink and great energy. This place is for those looking for a good time on the weekend. No drama just care free good times. The drink selection is on point and the service is top notch. We had a great time here. There are other bars around to. So that's a plus. It's like a destination area for locals and tourists alike.

This place has been nothing but a good vibe! For slow days it's great to go get a beer and conversation. When they have a DJ it's a great place to dance and have fun! Prices aren't too bad for the area.

We actually ran into…read moreHans Kim and ended up walking over with him -- we genuinely had no idea where we were going and had never even heard of this place before. The scene was very different from our usual spots and definitely felt like a throwback to our younger days: lots of young people, lots of alcohol, and high energy. It wasn't the cleanest -- there were empty cups and napkins scattered around -- which felt more like a lack of courtesy from some patrons than the staff, but it's worth noting. That said, the bartenders were friendly, service was quick, and there was plenty of seating. We were able to grab drinks easily and settle in to enjoy the show. The dueling piano performers were a blast and play songs based on requests -- the bigger the tip, the better your chances, which adds to the fun. There were multiple birthday and engagement celebrations happening on stage, and the crowd energy was contagious. All in all, we had a great time and would absolutely return -- especially if you're looking for something lively, interactive, and a little out of your normal routine

There's never anyone in a bad mood here. All you see are smiles. The cocktails are actually pretty solid. Our cocktail waitress was very on top of things and super helpful and nice. The location is right on "Dirty 6th" which is not my favorite area but it still has a lot to offer. I visit the area every once in a while and do still enjoy it. If you are looking for a visit this area and don't want chaos, I do recommend going early in the evening on a week day vs. the late night on the weekend.

I know nothing about this, but thank you for the heads-up on it. I haven't experienced it, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. - The owner is Taxi, he plays the drums at the bar. His job is to engage the audience. Don't complain when you are being encouraged to join in, just join in. Don't want to join in? Sit in the back of the bar. - I was here when it was J's Bistro, and when J's actually opened. Yes, I'm an alumnus. It's the same thing, but with a different owner. That can change things, but it seems like he's trying to open the bar up for more interesting events; bands, open mic night, etc. Again, it's just like J's so don't compare the two like their ever so different. - It's a bar people, not a 5 star restaurant. - It's also in a college town, so it's not the same expereince when you're not in your mid to early twenties. My sister, brother-in-law, my best friend, and I return every year for homecoming and always come to Taxi's, formally J's, for some fun and drinks. We've even adopted a tradition, which Taxi and the piano player(s) don't like but a $20 encourages them to play the song anyway. We don't order food, but when I went to school in San Marvelous I wasn't exactly impressed with anything. Thankfully, the "bistro" has been removed, because this was never a bistro to begin with. It does get crowded, and I've seen this place so packed that it's pointless to move. Last year, 2012, it started out crowded until the bar crawl group of drunken frat boys and sorority girl left. Only then were we able to find a table. We mostly laugh it off because we were all young on campus once, only I wasn't a drunken idiot and hopefully they avoid this place when I'm there. I don't like the smoke. I haven't smoked in 3 years. It irritates my eyes, it inflames my sinuses, and I stink. I understand that there are smokers, but until they change the laws down there I'll just have to suck it up for one night a year. It would be nice if there was no smoking indoors. We have experienced poor service, but it's a bar and they don't hire career servers/bar tenders...unless they do now. You just do your best to remember who your server is, and try to close out before the mad rush at the end of the night. Sometimes you will get a great server, so tip them well. This place is fun, but being in a college town you have to deal with some compromises. It's nostalgic for me to go here, and I have stories from back in the day as well, so we try to go for homecoming. One thing I'd like them to do is learn other songs, or newer songs. I do get tired of hearing the same stuff. CHEERS!

There were a couple of other rooms in the place, affording a little more privacy and intimacy if that's your thing. The "wine bar" has just that... wine! The wine list is a thoughtful collection of wines curated from the US and around the world by the owner Taylor. It's also a piano bar, where Andy, the co-owner and husband, plays fun sets of sing along music! We shared glasses of champagne and cava inside, with a "sweet and salty" bowl, a combination of popcorn, stick pretzels and dark chocolate chips. It was a fun combination! The wines were good, hat tip to the champagne... LOL When it was time for the event to begin, we moved outdoor to the very chilly front porch, but heaters and blankets provided by the wine bar kept us cozy. Delightful evening chatting with the various folks who came and sat outside with us. More champagne and popcorn keep things lively! It was a fun evening, and Cuvee was very hospitable. Taylor and Andy have created a very inviting space (the chairs could be more comfortable... LOL), where guests can spend a few minutes or a few hours enjoying wine, music and singing. The more the merrier! We'll definitely get back by Cuvee! PS There is an air b-n-b loft room for rent upstairs, looks really cute, cozy and comfy. Check it out on their website. We may try that next time we're in town.

Service was good, they were informative and prompt. My not great review stems from a few things. This is a VERY small room with a full sized piano in it as well as far too many "tables" and chairs. (See photo for table size, lol) The piano music was fun and lively, but very loud if you're seated in the same room. When we went to pay the bill, I inquired about the $40 reservation fee and asked if it is applied to our bill. We were then told it was a cover charge. I'm curious if anyone walking in off the street also gets charged this "cover"? It just seemed kind of sketch that we didn't know it was simply a fee to be there.
