Good food good service in a diner where classic meets modern. You could see it is a staple in the community. While we were there the town was celebrating their anniversary there was a photo on the wall of a young woman and the same elderly woman was sitting at a table with her family. The owner served us and was super friendly. The was classic Diner food. Delicious

I was very excited to eat here again since i had such fond memories of eating here two years ago. The fish sandwich which was so good two years ago had less fish and more breading. The pickles were so limp i couldn't eat them. I think they may be short staffed since there were ads for weekend and night cooks on all the napkin holders. They now add an automatic gratuity to all checks as well. I think the worst thing is that the woman who i think is the main person/owner with glasses is quite grumpy and borderline mean. My mom is a little old and doesn't speak English well and she was almost shouting at her about what table to sit at. The older woman who i think might be her mom was really, really nice. I get that they are understaffed but if you run a restaurant your mood affects your customers.

Ambiance (4/5): The diner is located just a few minutes from the Taconic State Park. Our party of 4 visited on a Sunday around 11am and was seated immediately. The inside has your classic retro diner look and feel. There's a bar top seating, booths, and throwback decorations on the walls. The establishment is tight but relatively clean, bright, and not too loud. Service (4/5): There was only 3 staff members bustling around to serve the guests and as such, we didn't expect top service. The ladies were doing a stellar job bustling around and attending to all their guests. They were friendly, polite, and gotten all our orders correct! Food Sadly, all of my party was not impressed by the taste of the dishes but the dollar value to the portion was great. Iced Coffee (1/5): very weak and watered down Hunter's Omelet (2/5): There was nothing special about this but perhaps the kielbasa which is a Polish sausage, often smoked and has a distinctive garlic taste. I'd say it was mildly flavored and complemented the sautéed onions. I asked for the home fries to be cooked well-done and they were! However, the potato bites were not seasoned at all.

Good food and friendly service. Everything you would want in a diner and more! A must stop if ever in Copake.

Went for lunch. They had soft pretzel with cheese sauce. Delicious. Good food for sharing. I ordered a scup of chili and Greek salad. My brother ordered the crock of mixed salad and a baked potato. Everything was tasty and service was quick and friendly. I've had their breakfast in other occasions. This is a solid place for good diner food.

    Buffalo Chicken Wrap was delicious!!!

Great food, generous portion. Reasonable prices. They have a great prime rib dinner on the weekends. Soups are homemade

Did I know what I was getting into when I stopped for lunch in Craryville?…read more No. Sometimes you're on a road trip and you need to stop to eat. Often, these meals are nothing special - just fuel for the trip. But sometimes you get lucky. We stopped because we were hungry and because the map said there was a place to eat just off the Taconic. Right off the exit we were greeted by an old-school stainless steel diner that looked well-maintained and inviting. At this point, my expectations for the stop had already been exceeded. Inside, we learned that this was an old Silk City Diner from 1958, and the decor reflected this history. We took a comfortable booth by a window. Service was friendly. One of the day's specials was fried scallops. Now, many people might think an old roadside diner that's 100 miles from the ocean might not be a good place to order seafood, but I had a feeling I was making a good choice. I didn't even ask the waitress how the scallops were - I just ordered. The scallops were perfectly cooked, enjoyable to eat, and exceeded my expectations. They came with fries, gravy, and broccoli, which were all fine (but nothing special). It wasn't all perfect. The coffee was weak, and it didn't seem like all the food met the level of the scallops. But for a random rest stop it was fantastic. Will I be planning a trip to Craryville just to go to the Martindale Chief Diner? Probably not. But would I stop in if I was traveling through this area again? Absolutely.

What a gorgeous restaurant in a magical setting - right in the lake…read more A golf cart whisks you to and groom the parking lot - or you can take a lovely walk. The menu is simple. Snacks. Appetizers mains sides. And desserts We had a cocktail the Grey Lady gin plum Liqueur lemon egg white.. foamy and good But we waited and waited and waited. It took an hour for us to get our food. Finally: Fish croquettes came out with our appetizers - Scallops gratin, beet orange radicchio salad, asparagus with hazelnut vinaigrette. Found a fish bone in the croquette ... but other wise everything was delicious. Salad was small - could have used more beets and oranges and not be plated in a bowl. Then we ordered three entrees: black bass, chicken and the steak preparation. All entrees were wonderful and well seasoned. The bass was sadly dry and overcooked tho. And the chicken in tarragon leek jus was truly special - but the plate felt empty. Two broccolini were a bit lonely. The juicy chicken with crispy chicken skin was our favorite bite. The steak atop sugar snap peas and tallow fried potatoes - with an herbaceous chimichuri type sauce. It was a complete entree. Chocolate pudding for dessert was yum Finding a gem like this in the Berkshires is not easy. We will be back but we would like our food to arrive sooner please
