I hired DAD's Construction to remodel my bathroom because of their design process. Unlike other company's I talked to, DAD's (Dan - the owner and general contractor) personally wrote down everything I wanted along with suggestions (design elements), provided professional drawings, and a very detailed estimate before I was committed to the remodel. He was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. A very nice family man. Nothing like those pushy salespeople from those bigger remodeling companies and home improvement stores. Dan did not try to sell me anything. He genuinely cared about what was best for me and how he could help me have the bathroom I wanted - not what he wanted to sell me. Like he said in the beginning, Dan was there, physically working with his team, every day. If I had a question - he was there ready to answer and help. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and pleasant. It was getting harder for me to get in and out of the bathtub. I needed to replace my bathtub with a shower. Dan explained the entire process and gave me lots of ideas and options that I could choose from. DAD's completely overhauled the bathroom area installing a larger low curb tiled shower with an adjustable hand shower on its own pole. They also installed floor heating (this is really nice!), comfort height toilet, new solid wood cabinet (not that stuff made out of sawdust) with quartz countertop, exhaust fan, recessed LED lighting, door, and all new switches and outlets. They also replaced all the drywall and insulated all the walls (what a difference this made!). The work and installation of tiles, fixtures, and everything else is very high quality. DAD's Construction does not take any short cuts or cut corners. Dan always keeps you updated on their progress. Nobody shows up unexpectantly and you know every person by name who is working - all very nice people. Everything installed in my bathroom remodel is very solid, durable, and placed with care and perfection. I noticed that the lumber that was used was "nice looking". Dan explained that they always try to use lumber that is rated as #1 or Select (that's the best and strongest). I also noticed that the fixtures were not plastic with metal plating. All the fixtures were solid brass with strong, long-lasting brushed nickel finishes. Watching as they performed my bathroom remodel, I can now see why DAD's is so much better than all the other companies out there. I know my new shower, solid wood cabinet, fixtures, and beautiful tile will last for many years without any issues. I will absolutely have DAD's Construction perform my next project. read more

Letter of Recommendation:   We hired DAD's to completely remodel our hall guest bathroom (taking the tub out and creating a walk-in shower), master bathroom, powder room, replace all windows and front door, re-pipe the entire house, add and upgrade recess lighting, paint interior, and add garage lighting. We started with the guest bathroom and it came out so beautiful, we immediately hired them to do all the other work! So I didn't want to do this but a lot of people have told me I should. I hired Dad's to remodel my bonus room. But before I was to get an estimate I had to pay $3500 for drawings for the project which I was told was non- refundable. Ok. I figured my neighbor used this company it must be ok. We'll long story short, my first estimate was mind blowing! Almost $100,000 to paint, install baseboards and crown molding lighting, speakers in ceiling, new ceiling fan, a built in desk/wall space, and a built in Murphy bed. So I said I'll do without the Murphy bed. That lowered the price close to $20,000. So I kept doing away with everything and ended up just saying that I'd like him to paint and do the moldings and baseboards. Final price $50,000 and the $3500 wasn't a part of the price. So bottom line, he's EXTREMELY overpriced! I'm almost done with the room now and had to hire separate contractors to do the different jobs but in all, even with my new furniture, it's getting done for half that price. I know you're never supposed to have a contractor do a job without the estimate first but I really didn't expect for his price to be that high!! Lesson learned! read more

DAD's Construction has performed work for me many times over the past 16 years. They have built me a large beautiful room addition, remodeled my guest bathroom, master bathroom, kitchen, added a tankless water heater, added a new 200amp service panel, completely remodeled and refurbished my garage adding overhead storage, and replaced all of my doors, windows, and flooring. They have also removed all of the acoustical (pop-corn) ceilings, added recess lighting, replaced the HVAC ducting, painted both the interior and exterior, and insulated the attic. DAD's has always performed exquisite work for me. Therefore, when it was time to remodel my kitchen, studio, dining room, master bathroom, and repipe my home, there was naturally only one person to call - Dan at DAD's! This was a major job. I met with the owner, Dan, who was a very nice man. He listened to our plans to remodel a bathroom, and followed up with an emailed quote. However, the quote was very high compared to other quotes I received, and the cost included the company providing all of the materials. When I asked if it's possible for me to purchase my own sink, fixtures, etc., and have Dad's install it, Dan said it's just not possible, and he has no way of charging me for the labor. We had also discussed two options (a major and minor remodel) when he visited, but he only quoted me for the major. He seemed to be bothered by my questions, and ended the email with "good luck in your project." This was disappointing, especially since their website specifically suggests that clients can buy their own materials, and even do some of the labor themselves. It's misleading and frankly confusing. It leads me to assume he wants to purchase the materials and bump up the prices to me, rather than letting me buy them myself. read more
