The hard serve ice cream flavors that my family and I have tried over five visits now have all been very good to excellent. The soft serve is the same as EVERY other place.. the flavors are added when you order and are from a bottle. For a new place the service has been up to par on every visit. Prices are fair especially compared to the boys from VT. I've had a good experience on each visit and I'll continue to go back. Have to say that most of the other reviews on this place as of this date pretty bogus and are the type that give consumer review sites a bad name. If you are ordering flavored soft serve you KNOW what you are getting, so don't be a tool and give a new small business a two star review over it. Giving a lousy review because the location requires you to drive around a rotary and is located on a busy road across from a Motel 6 is bush league as well. Be real and be reasonable people. read more

I've been twice got the hard packed icecream the first time and the soft serve the second time. The hard was ok. Average. Nothing special. The soft serve! I had the vanilla and quite frankly it was bland. Had no real flavor. My son got a flavored soft serve. I think cookies n cream. The flavoring in the soft serve is a a liquid they add. I am not a fan. For 9 dollars for 2 cones I would expect better. Had high hopes for this place. read more

I love ice cream -- all kinds and I have been to countless places but this Daddy's ice cream is the WORST place ever! Don't waste your money! Dairy Freeze in Quincy has great soft serve and they sell Richardson's ice cream! The best! read more

I wanted to love this place. We tried several soft serve flavors and bought an ice cream cake. The soft serve is made with squeeze bottles of liquid flavoring which makes the ice cream taste more like a flavored ice. Very sweet and processed tasting. The process takes tine as well so there was a bitnofva wait for three small cups. The ice cream cake was good. Perhaps the non-soft serve ice cream is better. read more

I've been to Daddy's 3 times, twice at the Randolph location and once at Braintree. Both locations were extremely underwhelming. The hard ice cream isn't anything special and the flavors upon flavors of soft serve ice cream aren't flavors at all, just syrup mixed with vanilla soft serve (yuck). Most of the time, it just tastes like vanilla ice cream with a slight hint of whatever "flavor" you got. Complete waste of money. Will not be returning. read more

I've visited 2 of their 4 locations and found basically the same thing at both. Young teen aged girls wearing (IMO) inappropriate see through leggings. Service is hit or miss. The hard ice creams are Giffords which are definitely a quality ice cream. However, I went in the first time, lured by a piece Chronicle did on them & 80 flavors of soft serve. I will never try any of their soft serve flavors because as others have mentioned, they just add flavored syrup to vanilla to make their 80 flavors. My real pet peeve with them though, is their "rewards" card. You get one sticker for each visit. 12 visits gets you one "regular" size cone, regardless of what you purchase on each visit. So if you spend $5 or $50 in a visit, you get the same one sticker! Considering the reward is equal for all, you would think there would be a better way of earning it! read more

We had the hard ice cream. Nothing more than typical super market ice cream. When looking at the side of the containers when they were scooping the ice cream, it had a different company name on it. The price was ok since it is super market ice cream. I can only review what we ordered, maybe the other items are better. All in all, it was disappointing. read more

The ice cream here is amazing and reasonably priced. I love that it's open year round!!!!! The service was kind, and funny. I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We were first timers at Daddy's Dairy after only hearing good things. We were a group of 2 - after the first ordered we got a "what else?!" Instead of the common "anything else I can get for you". Shrugged that off. We get to the register, we give her our rewards card to get a sticker for our orders and was told no to those - we simply asked why only 1 sticker instead of 2 (being newbies and buying 2 ice creams) and we got "that's just what they tell me!" . Advice for the woman working, if you hate your job you should probably quit. Advice to Daddys, take more consideration into your employees and their communication skills. Sadly, we'll only be back because we have a gift card. read more

Pretty lame, honestly. They're prices are pretty high for what you get in comparison to other ice cream stands (not like Ben & Jerry's or anything), the Cookie Monster flavor which at most places is LOADED for chocolate chip cookie dough and Oreos had like 2 clumps of cookie dough.. And the entire parking lot reeked like a dumpster. I don't know how people were sitting outside with their ice cream. It was disgusting read more

Love the ice cream -- truly well-constructed sundaes! But the poor customer service left a bitter taste. While we lucked out w/ a good person at the counter, I witnessed inexcusably dismal customer service. Someone needs to take time to train these young, clearly inexperienced counter people. For starters, when someone walks in the door, you approach the counter, greet them with a smile, and tell them, "I'll be ready when you are to take your order!" Instead, three then four young girls stood in the background, looking serious, and talking among themselves -- two held their backs to the service counter. Meanwhile, two potential customers were trying to get service but no one could be bothered to help them. When they made it clear they'd been waiting five minutes, not one person had the sense to say, "So sorry! Let's place your order right now. And while you're waiting, would you like to taste some ice cream? What flavor would you like to try?" Seriously. Excellent customer service, even when the product ain't so hot, will bring many happy returns, and a much healthier bank deposit. $$ After training folks on the value of customer service, and then testing them, how about some directions for the clientele? "HERE TO PICK UP ORDERS" "HERE TO PLACE ORDERS" read more

What a disappointment, will not return. Standing in line waiting to be helped, one of the associates on a busy Saturday evening felt it appropriate to make an inappropriate comment about a special needs child. Wrong on soooooo many levels. The hard ice cream case was disgusting as there were drops of other flavors in the buckets beside them. I mean if I order cake batter ice cream, I don't expect to find cookies and cream in it. Then they have a sign that says please notify your server of any allergies. what the sign should say is: if you have allergies, go someplace else. my husband is allergic to tree nuts. couldn't have hard ice cream because they scoop ice cream into walnut cones over the tub itself. then they claimed the same for non parelles and hot fudge. Daddy's dairy was a huge disappointment and I will not return. Nor will I suggest this as a place to go for friends and family. read more

I rate this place a 5 star ,But I do have to say I've been going to daddy's dairy for a long time now and I'm pretty friendly with the girls at the Brockton /Easton line .Those girls are so friendly every time I go in there .There is this older women that works there and she is so rude .I'm pretty sure she's the owner .Seems to have an attitude towards customers .You would think if your the owner you would be smiling and greeting the customers when they came in . read more

I am only giving two stars because of a very specific employee at the Braintree location. Her name is Courtney and being served by her was miserable. I came in there on Saturday after the parade and was greeted unpleasantly by Courtney. She didn't smile at all, was very curt about answering any questions and made myself, my children, and my husband very uncomfortable. I also heard her being rude to a girl that looked like she was in training. My husband was going to say something but we wanted our kids to have a good time. I will not be coming back to this location because of this employee. I spend a lot money at all the different Daddy's dairy locations, but will definitely not be returning to Braintree and will tell my friends to do the same. You should really consider hiring employees with a good demeanor who treat others with kindness and understanding because it is a real reflection on your establishment and management. read more

Jay you may scoop gourmet ice cream but you are cheap on portions and overpriced! You scooped my large 3 sample sized ice cream personally and it was to say the least disappointing! Like I told you I am a local to the area and will never return. Heidi's Hollow route 58 in Hanson does it better (5 star)worth the ride!. Cabbotts in Newton also(5 star also worth the ride! Closed on Monday's). Jay as the owner hold your head down until you scoop an ice cream worth what you charge! ( 1star only because you have to . No stars for Daddy's Dairy!) read more

The service sucked plain and simple. Ice cream was good but when you are first in line and they are not helping you after 7 mins I started to walk out and you think they would say oh can I help you. Nothing. Exactly what I am giving them for Business NOTHING!!! It's unfortunate because we live in condo community I could of made them a lot of business. read more

Tried Daddy's Dairy ice cream at the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival yesterday. I tried the M&M cookie dough. Amazing! Creamy with just the right amount of candy and cookie dough goodness. Wish there was a location closer to me. Good quality ingredients that make good quality ice cream. Friendly staff working event. read more

Place was great last summer. Not this summer! People work there suck! Completely ignore me. Took 2 people ahead of me and i came in b4 them. Then i asked for a specific ice cream. She didnt want to make it! I dont mind paying extra. But still skimped on toppings. Then i got attitude when cashing out. Will never go there again!!! read more

This place is great! We brought my three year old here so he could choose his ice cream cake for his birthday. They did everything to make it perfect - including calling the decorator who makes the cakes to ensure find out what would fit for the hand drawn design. It was delicious and we couldn't have been happier. read more

They list all the soft ice cream flavors, but not the hard ice cream - it can be difficult to know what you want when there's people standing in front of the cases that house the hard ice cream. Ice cream is tasty but pricy. My real issue however is that they sell candy cigarettes. A huge turn off. read more

I tried the black raspberry chip yogurt here and it tasted really good! The only downside I'd say is the smallest size cup is one scoop at $3 and change... read more

In all honesty could not tell you about the ice cream because we didn't stay to order. Went with my young nephews and was shocked at service. Staff seemed more interested in own conversation than helping us, then when did address us were extremely rude finally just said nevermind left and went to another establishment. read more

Great place, decor is so cheerful & the place is very clean. The employees are friendly and even though there are lines they move quickly. So many flavors & beautiful ice cream cakes.
