I would definitely recommend Daddy Jones! Came here for a work dinner and they were extremely accommodating to our group of 10. The service was friendly and fast. And the food was delicious. I had their chicken gyro and my friend gave me one of her falafels to try. I wolfed down the entire gyro! The one thing I wish they had was cider on draft! I tried one in a can - see the pic- it was OK but not my fave! Regardless, I'm planning on bringing my hubby back. :)

Came here for date night and my husband asked how we haven't found this hidden gem sooner! Our waiter was so great, service was excellent, food and drinks were delicious. The ambience was nice and loved their choice of music. We ordered the spanakopita, triple dip and rice/falafel large plate. All delicious! Can't wait to visit again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of the menu at Daddy Jones, which was unique, interesting, and all sounded incredibly delicious! My group of three had the Gyro Souvlaki Platter, Keftedes Sliders (includes 3), Falafel Fritters (also 3), DJ Threeway, and Lemon Potatoes. The souvlaki was definitely the star, and the keftedes and falafel were also good. Ultimately everything was satisfying and the waitstaff was AMAZING. But we felt the dishes all fell a bit short -- they seemed undersauced (I would have loved more than just a hint of the fig honey on the fritters!), and while I love me some carrot dippers, we were underwhelmed by the $16 veggie plate. (I would at least hope for a LARGE portion of hummus when ordered!) The lemon potatoes also seemed a bit over-fried. My friends had been to Daddy Jones before and fondly remembered it, particularly a mac and cheese on the menu (I'm mentioning in the hopes they'll bring it back!). They also did not remember the three TVs on the walls, which don't seem to match the classy, chic vibe. I'm listing a lot of negatives, but overall I did enjoy my visit and I would absolutely return to give it another chance and try other menu items. They also have bingo on Tuesdays at 8PM and trivia on Thursdays at 8PM! Not crossed off my list just yet.

Nothing particularly special, but a solid greek salad. Not entirely sure the vibe they're going for--pretty classy interior, but three TV screens, two of which had sports and one with anime. Will definitely be back to check out the other offerings.

Mr Jones and me tell each other fairy tales. We stare at the beautiful women. Pass me a bottle, Mr Jones! Everyone calls you daddy Jones for a reason. Entering Mr. Daddy Jones' establishment you are taken back by the groovy vibe that encompasses the atmosphere. In the back there is a large mural of a cock, i mean Worcester, i mean rooster. Honestly, i don't know how to pronounce that name. Regardless, a beauty mural on the wall and adjacent, a vibrant TV playing Bob Ross showing how to paint your own mural. The restrooms are non binary, so you feel the freedom of not having to be oppressed by social expectations and norms. Daddy Jones is above it all. Whatever your pronoun, we are all welcome here. The bar: well kept and fully stocked. No matter your get down; gin, whiskey, vodka, tequila... A spirit for any spirit. No shanking a vato here. Selection is amazing and the pours are generous. Staff is genuine. They love being there and made me feel at home. Had a great conversation with John, bartender. Well versed and eloquent, never shyed away from any topic. Arlett is another amazing bartender, knows her drinks! Asked for a suffering bastard and made this bastard feel like there was no reason to suffer. Hallelujah i been cured! Food: hands down like a dashboard confessional, made me feel vindicated. Loved every morsel of everything we ordered. Honestly we ordered all the appetizers and each were great, but what stood out from the items were ordered; Chris' Burger. The burger was juicy and made to order. Medium well. Nice and color was perfect. The spicy aioli was the perfect contrast between the caramelized onions. The bacon gave it the right amount of crunch. I had to get the name of the cook who prepared this meal, Milton! I asked Milton to come out so that I could shake his hand and parade him with a great gesture! I had to give him a hug because the burger made me cry and i promised myself i wouldn't. Bravo Milton! Mr daddy jones and me starin at the video, when i look at the television i wanna see me starin right back at me. When you come to daddy Jones' you will feel like a movie star. And you will somehow hit with nostalgia without even breaking a sweat.

DJ is that friend who is cool, but also knows he's cool, so he doesn't try all that hard. But you still love him. Cuz he's cool. We walk in on a Monday evening, ask for a table for 4, and the host points at a few inside. We say, "Are there any on the patio?" "Go back there and look for yourself." Alright then. We go out the back & up some stairs to the patio, and it's pretty packed for a Monday. We find a table and steal some high chairs from others. After sitting for a few minutes, we realize there are no waiters to be found. So we head to the outdoor bar where you can order drinks and food. This guy was awesome! He gave us samples of drinks so we could make our decisions (which all ended up being Springdale's Pearly Wit which was on tap) and was also super patient despite our indecisive food decisions. After ordering, we received a painted wine bottle with a number to stick on our table and indicate where our food should end up. Then we waited. For what seemed like a really long time. However, the wait was made much better by the beers, nice outdoor atmosphere, and the random 80's flick they started playing on the large inflatable screen (today it was the 1987 movie Mannequin, which we didn't even know existed, but thoroughly enjoyed laughing at). Finally, our food arrived in two waves. Bacon-wrapped dates (hot & tasty! great mix of sweet & salty), spanikopita (flaky & spinachy in the best ways, accompanied by a yummy yogurt sauce), grilled lamb (literally just a plate with grilled lamb pieces, would not consider an actual appetizer), Mac Daddy (mac & cheese with bacon, nothing too special), moussaka (Mmmmm. Those spices tho!), and the sweet potato fries with feta & honey (SIMPLY HEAVEN). We hung out with DJ longer than we were expecting, but the time went by quickly, and overall we really enjoyed it. He's def one of the coolest guys I know.

I ame here because this place caught my eye before quarantine and I'm happy to know they reopened. They're ordering set up is pretty unique and is mainly outdoors. You'll be getting up to place your order at the window. Most booths seat 2 which have cool wallpaper backgrounds for a fun time taking photos while you wait. Although packed with an appealing Greek menu I was please to find that they have Dominican dishes which brings me back home to NYC. I'll be coming for that another day. I liked the idea of the Athena Burger, a Lamb burger dressed with LTO, red pepper and feta dip (I skipped the bacon). Accompanied by sweet potatoes fries -- dressed on feta cheese and then they recommended drizzled honey and it couldn't have been better planned. The food was delicious, the beer was good and I'll be back for some Spanish food. Thanks guys my girlfriend and I had a great time!

Can't believe I've been living in the area for over a decade and never thought to check it out…read more Ironically, I only discovered this place because I had to park nearby and walk nearly 3 blocks to the Mediterranean Grill which proved to be an underwhelming experience, but noticed this place due to the "Zagat rated" sign in the window which piqued my interest. Well, sometimes the best things happen by pure chance...and thus I came back to try out this place a couple weeks later, and found it to be far and away the best Greek/Mediterranean food I've ever had in the entire greater Boston area! It's easy to see why this place is Zagat rated. Easily beats out bigger, trendier and fancier-looking, much pricier "Greek" places such as Zo Greek in Somerville's Assembly Square (review upcoming) as well as the more downmarket hole in the wall places like Falafel King. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. Loved the Sampler Plate for two, everything on it was absolutely scrumptious and next time I might order one just for myself so I don't need to share it with anyone else, hahaha...really brings out your inner greedy-S.O.B.! Also loved that their fresh-cut french fries are actually pan-fried, not deep fried...first time I've ever encountered that anywhere in this city, and they were also crazy good...instead of just tasting the oil as happens with deep-frying (especially if they are frozen fries with that yucky mushy cardboard texture) you actually get the full flavor of the (gasp!) POTATOES, and do not need to drown them in ketchup or salt the living daylights out of them. Truly a "homemade" experience! We tried both the "Greek" fries and the regular fries, both were rave-worthy...and this is from someone who normally avoids fries in restaurants because they are usually made from tasteless frozen potatoes. Lamb kebab and moussaka were also excellent, as was the baklava and galaktoboureko. Baklava outside of the Mediterranean and Middle East tends to be very mediocre and overly sweet...not here! Lastly, it's a beautiful and charming spot. It doesn't make any attempt to be trendy or gimmicky. Just has a warm friendly ambiance, which also describes the service. Can't recommend this place enough...will definitely be one of my regular go-to places!

I love Greek food and I knew from my husband that Boston has a big Greek community and great…read morerestaurants if you want a traditional Greek fare, exactly what I wanted. The places he used to go are gone, some replaced by local chains, casual in line with national chains. I wasn't interested in that sanitized version of Greek food that I knew it's lack authenticity. I did lots of research looking for a family owned restaurant (Yelp wasn't helpful at all). Found the Greek Corner in an article about best Greek restaurants in Boston, after looking into the menu and address, I realized that it was close to our accommodation, a few minutes of walking away! Greek Corner it was meant to be! We dined there after our first full day in Boston, after long hours of walking, working and sightseeing. The restaurant was cozy, nice decor, with a few regular customers. We were greeted right away, asked to sit where we wanted, so we picked a table by the window. Got water from the house right away. Customer service is attentive, not hovering, just right. We order portions of gyros and souvlaki, they both come with salads and fries or rice. Avery, our waiter substituted for free for us regular fries with Greek fries (they come with cheese, sprinkled with oregano), and we thought that was so nice and welcoming! Food was great, classic, traditional in the good way, the meat is tender, flavorful, the salads are fresh, the feta cheese is outstanding. The gyro plate coms with pita bread. We got Mythos beer to go with the food, not amazing, had it before in Greek restaurants but why go with anything that's not Greek? For dessert, we shared a Galaktoboureko, a cheese/vanilla custard pie in phyllo dough with cinnamon sprinkled on top, it melts in your mouth! Perfect place to chill and decompress after a long day, relaxing, great service, good food! We also came back here during our last full day in Boston. It was a change of plans. This year, we seem to go on a new personal trend while travelling - we love a restaurant and keep going back LOL! It was a rainy day, we were tired and wanted to stay away from tourist traps so coming back to a nice neighborhood spot where you know what you'll get it was comforting. We were recognized by the staff right away, picked the same time and ordered Greek red wine - Vin de Crete (just OK) and I got a Moussaka, a nice hot dish, loved the potatoes and eggplant, a classic dish, I chose rice pilaf this time around. My husband went for the Pastitso, perfect for a cooler day. He also got rice pilaf and the dish was perfect. They both come with the Greek salads which we loved! For dessert, we went classic again, shared a portion of Baklava (my husband had his eyes set on in from our previous time), and it didn't disappoint! Prices are reasonable here, service is nice, we loved having Avery taking care of us, nice to chat with, very fun and kind. It really feels like a cozy neighborhood spot where you are taken care of! I wish I could still walk to it! Can I have it bought to LA, please? Great Greek restaurant in Cambridge! Loved everything about it!

Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.

The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender.
