The Dachgarten located on the 6th floor of the hotel serves as a breakfast room for hotel guests or, you can rent the room for private and corporate events. The room is gorgeous and does have a buffet area adjacent to room as well as a bar / lounge at one end of the room. There is a reasonable sized outdoor area with tables and offers an excellent view of the beautiful monuments in the old city center.
My review is made up of three parts:
Personal event we had here - 5 stars - amazing staff on the evening and, everything worked beautifully well. It was an amazing evening for us and our guests. Florian the head waiter for the day was absolutely fantastic and his team were on top of every single detail. Not one guest felt they had to ask for a single thing and that's really amazing.
Breakfast - 2 stars - the choices are weak compared to other top end places in town and lack vegetarian choices.
Event management - 1 star or even 0 star - the worst event management team I have ever worked with, and I have worked with many :-((
First, about the event we had here. Organizing this event was like pulling teeth and, they got the contract wrong multiple times and, failed to respond for weeks on end. We almost cancelled the event on the basis of this.
On the night of the event however, the staff at the event venue were amazing. They took care of every detail and ensured the guests were happy. They were extremely well coordinated and paid a lot of attention to detail. We had tons of nice compliments from our guests about the wait staff on the evening. If it had not been for this, I would have given this place 1 star at the most.
The breakfast here is ordinary. The vegetarian choices limited and, the buffet is nothing special. I have had way better in other hotels of this caliber and, I would not eat breakfast here again. It's an expensive breakfast for what is, ordinary food. The whole food display was pretty ordinary. The cooking staff in the egg station could barely keep up with orders and as a result, got a few orders wrong.
It's a difficult review for me as, trying to provide a collective review for two completely different experiences in the same place, is hard to score. Part of me wants to downgrade even further based on the event management experience but I will stick with this for now. read more
