Delicious foie gras starter
Ryan R.

My husband and I came for a wonderful dinner on the evening of the 25th. It was a six course meal with some pretty delicious and surprising dishes. The first course was a foie gras platter with some sweet bits that complimented the foie gras. The second course was an amazing chestnut soup. I would never have thought chestnut soup could be something delicious, but Pfistermühle completely proved me wrong. Third course was a baked fish dish wrapped in pastry of some kind. It was good, but not my favorite. The 4th course was a raspberry sorbet palate cleanser. 5th course was a delicious prime rib. The 6th and final course was a dessert course, a mouse pastry. It wasn't the most amazing thing, but it was tasty. The table next to us had brought their dog with them and he was so cute and well behaved. He just sat under their table the whole time with a little bowl of water. I thought it was really cool how the restaurant would let them bring their dog.

Made reservations online for an early Sunday dinner (around 1700). Didn't really need to, plenty of people walked up and got tables. Had the 4-5 course meal and it's really tasty. The outdoor seating is perfect on a beautiful day. You not only enjoy the weather but can people watch. Great place just to stop and have a small break and a drink. I saw more than 1 couple do this.

Amazing looking hotel/restaurant.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Decor & Style: 5/5 This was our favorite "higher end" restaurant in Munich. It was high priced with small portions, but the quality and taste was very, very good. We only ate starters because we wanted to leave room in our bellies for more eating later on that evening, oh and also to keep our wallets full as well :) We ordered the Marinated beef tatar (truffle, mustard ice cream, cream of egg yolk, grated horseradish), Smoked saddle of sucking pig (praline of sauerkraut, black pudding, stock from ham and bread, marinated pomegranate), and Cream of potato soup. We're no connoisseur so I can't describe exactly how it tasted but I can tell you it was amazing! Just those three items and our bill was already about 50 Euro before tip and tax! If we had the money I would try the entire menu. Overall this place is highly recommended if you have the wallet for it!

As my husband just said, all restaurants will have to compare to Pfistermuhle. There's just no going back. We had their tasting menu in November of 2021 and it was phenomenal. The scenery is warm and welcoming. Our server was not only excellent at his job (while also training a new server), but was funny to boot. The food was excellent and truly a memory we could never forget.

Charming outside seating or cozy indoor setting. Your choice.

Das ist lecker! A must stop for anyone really craving Bavarian good tastefully and eloquently prepared. We had lamb and potatoes au gratin with cream of mushroom soup. Excellent. Great pairing of white wine as my sister-in-law had fish with mushroom risotto. I cannot say enough to about the fine service and friendly staff. I will go again. For such a large restaurant the seating rooms were intimate and cozy. Dessert was offered but out of the question as we were quite replete!

Asparagus and potatoes with ham.

Excellent food and wine. Marco did a stellar job taking care of us. Our first course was white asparagus and potatoes which were delicious. We shared the sea bass for the main course. It was cooked to perfection. Marco suggested a Austrian Sauvignon blanc that pared well with both. We shared a dessert combination that was to die for. Sweet, but not too sweet.

Yummy chicken!

Followed Yelps enthusiastic reviews and strolled into this very charming restaurant. The food was delicious. The salad tasted as if the greens had been picked on the way to our table! Incredibly fresh! Both chicken and veal dishes were superb. A memorable night in Munich!

We were walking to the Hofbrauhaus and planning our meal when we stumbled upon this place. We were just looking for something other than sausage and potatoes. This place was a pleasant surprise. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice German weather and views. The food was different than other meals we had in Germany, but was still pleasant and a nice change of pace. The prices are not low so be careful.

I have wanted to try the historic Pfistermuehle restaurant in Munich for years. Located near the Marienplatz, I have loved the old restored building, that had once been a flour mill, and watching its exterior change with the seasons. On a beautiful day, you can either eat alfresco or inside. Either way, the ambience is cozy, comfortable, and inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed my three-course lunch. The Bavarian food was light and lovely. The service was attentive and pleasant. You can book on-line reservations at www.pfistermuehle.de

I'm glad I had the opportunity to dine in this beautiful 150 year old restaurant. My review comes after its closure but it serves to honor the restaurant in hosting my visit. The Building is amazing where the walls and ceilings act as palettes for beautiful painted art. Stepping into the restaurant feel as if one is stepping through a time portal where one feels they are dining 151 years ago which is how old the building is. The ambiance is quite lively and energetic. Although the highlight is the space, the food is also very good. Their pretzels are served warm and fresh with a firm exterior and an interior that melts as it enters one's mouth. The soup is flavorful and healthy with not even a drop of oil pooling to the top. The schnitzel is as tender as it gets. The servers were knowledgeable and fast but it is always so busy that the restaurant should consider increasing staff as to improve customer service. Perfect location right in the heart of Marienplatz where the Glockenspiel is a stone's throw away. Overall, a wonderful restaurant to dine with great food and a beautifully historic setting!

We waited a bit outside - maybe about 15 minutes before we were given a table. Our waitress was great, but it was very obvious that they had a lot of tables to take care of in the extremely giant beer hall. If you need anything after you order and in between getting your food and paying, you'll need to wait a while. That being said, I think we're just used to extremely fast service in NYC. I had the Pork knuckle which was a whole roasted pork knuckle with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. We also had the Crispy roast pork with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. Both were excellent and the beer was also quite good. I had their signature wheat beer and then an Oktoberfest beer (because why not) and really enjoyed it. I do think I liked their signature wheat beer better, and would've gotten another one of those over the Oktoberfest one.

We got right in after maybe a 5 min wait and we were seated quickly tomorrow private table upstairs. There were 5 of us so it was very spacious and not too loud. We enjoyed beer and wine first and then we enjoyed several dishes that are in the pictures here. All were very good as most food in Munich at these restaurants is. Our server was very polite and she took our orders and suggested some items as well. Food came without too much delay and was very tasty. We stayed and enjoyed for at least 2 hours then back to the festivities once they cleared the bomb threat and started letting everyone back in. If you're in Munich for any reason - Schneider is a great place for some beer, wine and german food! Keep Munching!

Located just behind Old Town on Frauenplatz, it's a little off the beaten track, but not too hard to find. This Bavarian gem has been around for over 125 years. The food was so good. Here you will find traditional German, Bavarian food. We stopped by for lunch and it was packed with mostly locals. We were seated a large table with 3 other couples who were all from the area. One person brought his dog who kept running under the table to sniff my leg. Minus the dog, this was a treat and everyone was so nice. We even toasted when the cold Augustiner beer arrived. Again, we were told to order the sausages so we did. I ordered the 6 and my husband ordered the 8 sausages with sauerkraut. These looked like what we call breakfast sausage, they're thin but pack a a ton of flavor and were delicious, especially with the fresh sauerkraut. The staff was friendly and helpful with an English version menu. The atmosphere was cool and very authentic. Exactly what we were looking for when in Munich.

We got the Glöckl Platter which was a mixed plate of sausages. I could not decide which sausage was my favorite because I liked all three. The sausages in Germany taste more pure and less processed than the ones from the United States...and of course they are better in Germany! The side order of roasted potatoes was also delicious, with a crispy bottom, kind of like a cross between hash browns and home fries. The portions were smaller than other beer gardens I have been to though (1 star off). I was not familiar with German beers, so just told the waitstaff the glass size (1/2 L or 1L) and one was selected for me. It was light with some hops -- great with sausages and for summertime. We sat outside at a table squeezed between many other tables, but did not mind the crowd. It was great for people-watching in a busy part of town on a relaxing summer evening.

The Worst Experience of My LIFE !!!! (Das Schlimmste…read moreErlebnis meines LEBENS !!!!) This restaurant visit ruined what was supposed to be a wonderful day near Christmas. The service was shockingly unprofessional, unfriendly, and, most disturbingly, blatantly racist and discriminatory. Here's what happened during our visit on 20.11.2024, from 19:00 to 20:30: (Dieser Restaurantbesuch hat einen sonst wunderschönen Tag kurz vor Weihnachten vollkommen ruiniert. Unfriendly and Hostile Behavior When we ordered drinks, the female server practically threw the beer mat onto our table, displaying an outright lack of courtesy. (1. Disruptive Conduct During the Meal While we were eating, she carelessly threw items intended for other tables onto ours, disrupting our meal in the most unpleasant way. (2. Inappropriate Comments During Payment During the payment process, which we handled one by one, the card machine malfunctioned briefly. The server sarcastically remarked, "Thanks to the energy of the table..." or in German, "Die Energie des Tisches..."--a completely unnecessary and rude comment when we were simply sitting quietly and waiting. (3. Insulting Treatment After a Complaint After one of the guests at our table expressed dissatisfaction with the service, the server retaliated in an incredibly degrading manner. She used two beer mats to carry our used napkins into the tray, as though we were disgusting or unworthy of respect (see below illustration). This happened even after I had tipped for my part of the meal. (4. Dismissive Attitude While Ordering At the start, when I tried to order food and drinks together, the server rudely interrupted me, refusing to let me finish my sentence because I mentioned food (Schnitzel) before the drinks. (5. The service was not only terrible but deeply offensive. As a scientist, I am committed to reporting facts accurately, and every detail I've shared here reflects the absolute truth of what we experienced. This dinner, so close to CHRISTMAS, should have been an enjoyable and peaceful experience. Instead, it was destroyed by the disgraceful behavior of the staff. I do not know what we did to deserve such treatment, but I strongly urge anyone considering this place to think twice. If you value your peace of mind, avoid this restaurant--it could ruin your day too!
