Terrible service. Can't get through on the phone bc they keep their phone off the hook. Forced to order online, and selected curbside pickup. After 30 minutes of waiting curbside, and phone being off the hook so you can't call, I went in and was basically laughed at. Manager was beyond rude. This is always been a favorite of mine, and I go here with my family. It has huge portions, so some of the meals are definitely shareable, and the pizza is fantastic. It is good quality food, however, the prices have gone up quite a bit. I think it's a bit expensive to charge $12 for one piece of ricotta toast. However, it was very delicious. Went for lunch with a group of 6. Service was good. Love their rolls. They have a good selection of salads that you can add chicken, steak or salmon. I was tired of Caesar so I was thankful to have choices. Had the DaCapo salad which had roasted red peppers, radishes, roasted onions, etc. would get it again. Chicken was tasty. Large enough that I brought half of it home. We split the roasted veggie app and ricotta toast app and all had salads (except for one woman who had chicken parm) and we were all happy. read more

Found DaCapo when looking for a place to hold 30 people after a wedding rehearsal. We were treated like family from the time we walked through the door. The salads, we ordered two of each kind, were fresh and amazing! We ordered 13 large pizzas and a gluten free pizza. Each one, no matter what kind, was cooked to perfection and tasted so good. The staff, especially Gregory and Mya, made our experience at DaCapo a joyful one. They kept up with our drink orders and made sure we had what we needed. The restaurant gave us our own section, enough room for all of us to be comfortable and enjoy the night. I am looking forward to going back! My small group of friends has dined at Da Capo for many years. We went often as the pandemic eased because of the safer outdoor seating with heaters when it was chilly. We now favor outdoor seating because it's much quieter and we can talk easily during our meal. (Indoors is very noisy and conversation is nearly impossible). The food has been consistently good. However, our last meal on Sept 28 was very different. There was now loud, intrusive music more suitable for a dance club than a restaurant. We could barely hear one another. The staff said they "couldn't " lower the volume. What used to be a pleasant refuge from noisy restaurants has now become one. Maybe loud music and shouting patrons are what passes for a trendy dining experience these days, but it's not much fun to have shout across the table to have a conversation with friends. Our group may be older and used to a quieter dining experience. But if this is the "new" Da Capo, it will be awhile before we go back. read more

For the price and portion size I had to knock off a star. The bolognese tasted really good but definitely not the best dish I had. The peppers they cook with the bolognese sauce was not that good for my taste. But garlic bread and marinara sauce really did impress me. Service was very good our waitress was very nice. Visited here for lunch with my girlfriend and our daughters on a Tuesday afternoon. Great kids menu, very reasonable and large servings! Excellent thin crust brick oven pizza and the BEST parmesan truffle fries! Great service and nice ambiance. I came to dinner at DeCapo with a few friends and we had a great experience! The wine menu was extensive, having plenty of options to choose from. We had penne ala vodka and truffle fries to split. The penne ala vodka was delicious and the portions were big enough so that we had leftovers to take home. The service was quick and, though it was a weekday, they sat us immediately at a table of our choice. I would love to come back and try the pizza next time! read more

Sooooo... my boyfriend brought me here for Valentines Day this year. He thought this was a super fancy restaurant and did not do his research. What it is, is know for its delicious brick oven pizza. ‍ But because it was supposed to be a romantic evening, we ordered the ricotta bread, Caesar salad and I had the short ribs. What a wonderful surprise!! Everything was fantastic! That ricotta bread with honey is the bomb! The Caesar was exactly the way I like it - light and not drenched in dressing. And the short ribs were excellent. (We did bring a pizza home for my tee and that was also great!) Would def. go back, but I would probably wear jeans, boots and a cute top next time! read more

Unfortunately we were constantly looking around to get our waiters attention, in fact if we didn't, we'd probably still be waiting to give our order. Anyway, despite his lack of attention, we were able to get better service from another tables waitress when our waiter was missing in action? Actually had to ask for bread.....and then when it came, we noticed no butter, which yes, we waited a few more minutes, signaled to the waitress at the other table once again and got some butter. This occurred a second time at the end of our main course during desert and coffee, we got the desert and coffee, but yes you guessed it....we didn't get the cream for the coffee.....yep had to signal the waitress from the other table and finally got the cream. New to the area, we stopped in for lunch, uncertain of what we would find. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a genuine welcome, and we're pleased with that since it is not always the case. Our server, Chelsie, was also extremely friendly. since we were new customer, she brought us some samples of breads and pickled vegetables, which were excellent. Not only was she friendly she was efficient and made sure that everything was perfect. Now to the food... Because pizza was 25% off today we opted for our favorite pizza. We are very picky pizza eaters, and this was by far the best that we have ever had. The flavor was amazing. When I told Chelsea that I asked to meet the owner. He came over and was very gracious and genuinely interested in our comments and happy to have us as new customers. Interestingly, we met the two people who were at our adjoining table and struck up a conversation with them. We think we will become fast friends with them. My bridesmaids and I came to DaCapo after our dress shopping for late lunch/early dinner on a Friday afternoon. The decor (including outside) was really cute, and the interior had plenty of seating. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and our food came our surprisingly fast. We shared a variety of apps and plates from both the happy hour menu, and the app section of their regular menu. Everything was delicious, so we wished the portions were a bit bigger! Our entrees were incredible - some of us had pizza, others had pasta and seafood. The biggest turnoff was the "fresh bread"- our waitress brought us bread for the table but made a comment that what was in the basket was "all they had left at the time". The rolls we received were overcooked/almost burnt, not fresh, and there weren't enough for all of us at the table. We found that to be very odd. My only other criticism is the confusing vibe; DaCapo has incredible food and a lot of potential, but the restaurant seemed like it need a bit of a facelift. We were seated in the bar area for lunch amongst a surprisingly large crowd there drinking on a Friday afternoon, and it gave off a bit of a bar/lounge vibe rather than an Italian restaurant. I understand you can't turn down customers and it's great they have bar sales in addition to the restaurant, but they should keep those areas and clientele separate. Other than those little issues mentioned above, DaCapo is a great spot for the area and I will definitely return next time I am home. read more

The food here is delicious but the manager Julien is not interested in resolving issues with a good attitude and a respectful tone. The restaurant uses a 3rd Party App Slice which I have used to order a monthly Friday night pizza for pick up for at least 3 years. Last night I noticed my pick up time changed 30 mins but I figured sitting in my car for 30 mins with 1 kid would be fine. When the pick up time came with no notification I called and was told 10 mins... 20 mins later I called again since it was now 1.5 hours since I placed my order and I saw many people coming out with their orders. The lady on the phone said it was ready. I walk inside and both young ladies at the counter were staring at themselves and couldn't seem to find the order on the screen. Julien came over found it immediately and blamed it on the app and said "wait I'll take care of it" and went to help guests. Not sure what that meant but I told the girl to just refund my order. I reached out to the app latter and they said my order was picked up and I called the restaurant and they said they would call. Fast forward the next day I had no expectation that this would be resolved and believe it was a failure on the restaurant not the app. I called Julien who already had a crap tone "what do you want, it was the app" I told him my issue wasn't the app it was his employee who told me twice that my order was being worked on. His response "what do you want, it's Friday, it's busy, mistakes happen" ... somewhere in the convo he said something about a free pizza on the house... I mean I paid for a pizza but after the nasty attitude response basically saying $hit happens. I told him I'm all set. I can always dispute my credit card. I think employees should be held accountable. My family enjoys this restaurant but really the manager let me know that I really am not $hit. So please improve Julian. read more

DeCapo has been one of our favorite family restaurants - however recently there is a new manager (or a manager who is taking a more prominent place at the front of the house) that has made our last three experiences with the establishment miserable. He is rude, disrespectful to patrons and lacks any customer experience. Ordered an apricot sour drink to be told the bar had no apricot liquor so we asked for a peachtree sour and was brought something in a martini glass! Third time around we got some drink that tasted nothing like a peachtree sour but rather a lemonade drink! The steak was very small piece for $21 about half inch wide. We wanted pork special but they were all out! We had to ask for butter for our bread. Meal and service were unlike anything I ever experienced. The calamari was good! Thank God! read more

Did take-out tonight and had a great meal with a lot of leftovers. For $83 we ordered five items. First, we shared a Family Style House Salad that could have served 6 or 7. One oddity though, it was advertised on the website as having roasted peppers as one of the ingredients. Our salad had none, but in its place was a ridiculously disproportionate serving of sliced radishes? Our four entrees were chicken parmigiana with penne, lasagna, Penne al Forno (with sausage), Chicken Parmigiana with Penne, and Mussels Fra Diavlo. I had the mussels- I love mussels and I especially love Fra Diavlo. These were very good -nice and spicy and perfectly cooked to plump perfection. They weren't the best Mussels Fra Diavlo I ever had (that distinction goes to Vito's in Newington) but they were very good on all counts- mussels, broth, and quantity. The excellent DaCapo rolls perfectly handled the mop up duty. My dining companions all enjoyed their dishes and there was quite a bit of collective left-overs. All in all, we had a highly satisfying experience tonight. The young lady that took our order over the phone was courteous and efficient, and was a delight in person. She gets high marks for customer service. Nice job Da Capo !! read more

Tonight we ordered take out (2 dinners and a salad for around $70.00). We gave an 18% tip prior to leaving. When we got home we discovered that one of the dinners that we had ordered was wrong. We called to tell them about their error, and to request the original dinner as a replacement. The manager said that they couldn't verify who took the order for us, so they couldn't refund us, but we could order the dinner again, and pay another $30.00 for it. This lack of customer service was a huge let down for our family, as we had been patrons there for years. We will not be going back. read more

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves here--from the pitch perfect service, to the pleasant atmosphere, to the truly delicious food and wine. Everything--but especially the brick baked chicken and roasted vegetables--was infused with flavor and expertly cooked. Moist, crisp, and seasoned so each bite was balanced and satisfying. The caprese salad reminded me of July with fresh, abundant basil. Again, nothing was over done. Restraint means so much to a perfect dish. If I lived in the area and sampled this place at least three more times--and it would be my pleasure to do so--I predict this would be a five star rating from me. Alas, I don't foresee a return to Connecticut for a long, long time. Sad about that. This is an easy area to fall in love with. I came to this restaurant a month ago and had a pasta dish that was out of this world. The overall experience was great! Fast forward a month later everything was the complete opposite. The food was very disappointing. I asked the waitress if there was a new chef because the food wasnt the same. Clearly no one at our table even touched their dinner. First of all, I want to clarify that this review is based soley on what we watched at the restaurant, not for our service or our dining experience. The good: The restaurant looks very clean. Our server was a lovely young lady who took great care of us and was very attentive, even though they looked very busy. The apple salad is one of my absolute favorite salads. I order it almost every time we come here and it never disappoints. I recommend getting it with the grilled shrimp. The bad: The disgruntled male bartender completely ruined our night out as a family. We watched him not only put his hands in a woman's face but also swore at her several times. What kind of establishment lets a male employee put his hands in a woman's face like that and still has his employed there? As a mother of 2 teenage daughters, I can wholeheartedly say that we will never eat there again as long as he is working there. Completely unprofessional and ruined our night out. Unfortunately they have gone downhill in the last couple of years. I use to love it here. Recently we went for lunch with my daughter and grandson. We ordered just before noon and the child's meal came out almost immediately. This could have been OK, except that 45 minutes later our main courses (which were NOT complicated - 2 salads and a lasagna) were still not ready. We ended up asking them to pack ours to go because at this point our grandson had been done eating for 30 minutes and was done with sitting quietly (not to mention it was now his nap-time so there's no way we could have eaten / enjoyed ours). The waitress never even came over to apologize for the wait and the restaurant was not busy. Ten minutes later (an hour after we ordered) our meals were brought out in a to-go bag. To add to it all, when I got home to eat my salad, it was wilted and drenched in dressing like it had been made hours prior. We had asked when we changed our table order to takeout that both salads have dressing on the side to avoid this. read more

When we first got to DaCapo I was a little bit unimpressed. The hostess basically told us to pick a table and we sat down. We were brought water but nothing else for a little bit. Thankfully the experience only got better. The restaurant itself is a bit quaint - seems like at least the part we were in was an old house. The dining room in that part of the restaurant is a bit cramped, especially when people stop to chat with friends and get in the way of the wait staff. Also, as a perfectly able bodied person, I was really annoyed that people would park in the handicap spot in front of the door to run in and grab food or idle for some reason. I'm sure they blocked people who needed that spot from using it, and I noticed this both on the way in and out. We got the Parma pizza as an appetizer. It was one of the best I've ever had. Prosciutto, mozzarella, parmigiana reggiano, arugula, basil. Simply delicious. The crust is thin but not too crispy and the flavors are heavenly. It was seriously amazing. I ordered the shrimp and gnocchi special and it was one of the best Italian meals I've had. It was served with a cream sauce and some spinach and I just couldn't stop eating it. The gnocchi melted in my mouth and the sauce was perfect for dipping bread in. My partner was really excited about his chicken Marsala but ended up taking it home because he had half of my dinner. We had it as left overs the next day and I wasn't too impressed but that's fine because he loved it. Then, to top it off, they brought us a slice of chocolate mousse cake on the House. It was delicious - and really pretty. I forgot to take a photo before we dove in. It was just a really great meal and at a really reasonable price, too. Will definitely be back. read more
