1st time here and kicking myself for not coming before! The space is beautifully decorated. Authentic Italian decor. Makes you feel like you are in the heart of Tuscany! Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was very attentive and on point. Food was outstanding! Felt like I had a taste of Italy with the ravioli, lasagna and stiffed shell dish. 2 thumbs up! Definitely will be back!

Food was AMAZING and so was service! Amanda was amazing and very attentive. Loved the atmosphere and how beautiful the place was! The owner, Sam was very nice and welcoming as well. Definitely a must go in Middletown! I'll be here again. Best bolognese I've had in so long. Definitely looking forward to trying the steak!

I haven't been to Amici since pre-covid, and at that time it was just so-so. I am glad we gave it another try. We stopped by for Sunday dinner and were greeted by a friendly host and waitstaff. Amici has stepped up their game and are offering an expansive menu now. The bread was very fresh, as was the dinner salad. They have a huge wine and cocktail menu with full bar capabilities too. For dinner, I had Chicken Milanese, a classic standard Italian dish. The chicken was breaded well and the sauce was on point. I enjoyed it, and I'd order it again. I also sampled the Tortellini in alfredo with broccoli, which was an excellent vegetarian option. The dessert was tasty too. I had the creme brulee and she had the tiramisu. Amici is a long-time Middletown Italian joint that is holding its own, and this experience made me want to go back. Service was friendly, professional, and gracious for your business.

I've been here countless times and its amazing every time. I strongly suggest if you go here to ask to sit in Peter's section, he is an older Italian gentleman and he is so funny and sweet. Last time I went here we got the bruschetta and boneless wings as apps. The bruschetta came with 3 pieces and it was delicious with melty mozzarella on top. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about wings at an Italian place but honestly they were amazing and a huge portion, honestly it could've been a meal. As entrees, I got the broccoli cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and I added chicken to it. It was good but could have been a bit more flavorful, the chicken didn't seem entirely seasoned. My date got the chicken parm, it was really good and also a huge portion. There were definitely leftovers for both entrees. They have a very good drink menu but I always get a peach cosmo, its not on the menu but they make a great one. In the past I've also had the chicken marsala which was perfectly made and the calamari is always really nice and crisp. The location is downtown Middletown so there is paid street parking but its free after 6pm.

This is my spot when I come back to CT! One of my favorite Italian restaurants and they never disappoint. We came here for dinner on 5/17/22 and had a nice dinner. Our server was very pleasant and our food came promptly. Once again I had the delicious baked stuffed shells.

A very nice meal. Food was good, service was excellent! We sat in a nice round booth.

We were in search of good martinis and found this place. They had quite the list of martinis so we were excited to try this place. It did not disappoint! The martinis were delicious. I tried the tiramisu martini and the almond joy martini. The almond joy wasn't creamy which I'm used to, but it had excellent flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I got the gnocchi with sausage. Everyone I was with very much enjoyed their food. Our waiter was very attentive and fun. Another great place in Middletown!

I went early on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy, which made for a really nice experience. The interior is beautiful, with a mix of seating options bar seating, window seats, and two separate dining areas on different levels that give it a unique vibe. We were greeted right away when we walked in, and our drinks came out quickly. We ordered two appetizers: the octopus and the eggplant chips. I didn't personally try the octopus, but my dining partner said it was amazing, especially paired with the couscous. The eggplant chips were really good. For my main, I had the braised short rib. It was good and very rich and beefy, but I do think it could have used a bit more flavor. I also ordered a wine flight, which I really enjoyed. I got to try the burger as well, and it was delicious. The parmesan truffle fries were also a standout--definitely worth ordering. Overall, a great atmosphere, solid food, and a nice spot for a relaxed night out.

Which we loved ! They had amazing options for happy hour . We tried the Arancini balls ( 2 large balls) , which were my favourite highly recommend . The cheesy garlic bread was also amazing! We tried the humus with homemade sesame crackers .. the hummus was okay a little bland for me and the house made crackers were not my favourite personally . - the lemon shrimp was good to ( but only 3 shrimp ) We also tried the tomato basil flatbread which is a regular pizza size ( perfect for sharing ) - the crust was thin and flavours were good ! Overall we had a great time drinking our $6 sangrias ( during happy hour ) and had a great time trying the small bites and pizza . Service was good and plenty of seating cozy environment. Will def be back for happy hour and to try some more options on the menus

My friend and I started with a glass of wine, and the service in the beginning was good. However things quickly went downhill. This library proves you can't judge a book by its cover. We ordered the calamari appetizer. When it arrived, I opened my silverware from the napkin and discovered that my fork was filthy-- a giant glob of white, crusty food, the size of a dime, was still stuck between the prongs. I waited for my waitress to check in (she didn't deliver the food) but she never came. We tried to get the attention of another waitress and were ignored. After 10 minutes, with my calamari growing cold, I eventually walked to the bar to get a replacement. The bartended exclaimed, "Gross!" -- my sentiments exactly-- when I showed him the fork. By the time I actually sat down to eat, the calamari was cold. It was also super tough and chewy. There were hardly any peppers. We didn't eat much of it. I love French food, and I ordered the duck for dinner. I ordered it medium. When it arrived, it was cooked well done- perhaps in an oven rather than seared. I say this because the skin was not crispy and the fat had not rendered, so the skin/fat remained thick, chewy and inedible. Usually the crispy skin is the best part of duck, so I was disappointed. I had to cut off the skin and thick layer of fat to make it edible. It tasted quite gamey and there was no pink center. It came sliced into thirds, so they knew it was overcooked when they served it to me. I only ate a small portion. The rest of my dish (which came out looking stunning by the way) was also a big disappointment. Although it looked beautiful at first glance, I discovered the delicata squash still had the rough, inedible skin attached. The cherry sauce was heavy-handed and drowned my brussel sprouts, sweet potato purée and carrots to the point that all I could taste was the sauce (a thick, sugary glaze). I did my best to eat around it, because my waitress didn't check on us until much later. In fact we were basically done by the time I saw her again. I had given up at that point and left most of my food behind. There was also an issue with where we were seated. We had a small table in front of a window, but completely blocking a much larger table in a narrow corner. There was a family there when we arrived, and each time they got up to use the bathroom, I had someone's body pressed against my chair to squeeze by. A woman's behind actually grazed the back of my head at one point. When the family left, I could feel them brushing my coat off the back of my chair, resulting in them stepping on it. I can't blame them- it was a tight spot and a very awkward place for a table. I was annoyed that the waitstaff (I'm assuming) took the other chairs at my table, making a 4 seat table into a 2 seater, so I had no choice in where to sit. I didn't understand why they did this, because there was a lovely fireplace nearby and I had my back to it all night. Clearly, they weren't thinking about the dining experience from the customer's point of view. Maybe I could have switched tables but finding my waitress was like trying to find Waldo all evening, so it wasn't worth the hassle. Safe to say I won't be back. If you decide to try it out, be sure to get there early as parking is a pain to find at peak dinner hours.
