I love going to wineries!!! One of my favorite things to do! This winery was super cute! Lovely decor inside and out and some nice food and drinks options. We got the margherita flatbread and the Mango + blackberry slushies. All sooo good! We got to sit on one of the gliders and it was fun ! I took home a cider growler and it was likewise tasty.

Such an awesome day!! The weather showed out for us!! They had a musician out playing live music and an amazing selection of wines and cider!! We got the charcuterie board which paired great with some of the ciders! The store was so cute and had a great selection of wine and other cute items! Honestly I wish one of these was closer to Houston!!

Service is quick and very friendly, and the music they have on weekends is well worth stopping in for. They've had very skilled musicians every time I've gone. I'd pay to listen to their musicians, it was very pleasant to spend a couple hours sitting in their presence just listening and vibing. I don't know much about wine but as far as atmosphere goes, this place is superb. Their outdoor seating is spacious and private, set well back from the road down a very small hill that leaves you feeling like you're at a private country club in a secluded yet welcoming corner of New England. Only complaint would be that the food, for the fairly steep price, is pretty run-of-the-mill. Dipping sauces tasted cheap, one even seemed like canned spray cheese. I wouldn't expect much as far as snack fare goes. But if you're there for the wine and the music, I would highly encourage a visit.

I was pleasantly wowed by this place. I am a winery fan, and I have been to several in CT. Arrigoni is a whole experience. It has a rustic barnyard feel with indoor and outdoor seating. There is plenty of outdoor seating, which is covered too for those who don't want to be in the sun. There are also these super cute private seating areas that can be viewed and booked online. There is frequently entertainment on the weekends as well. The wine is flavorful, and there were obviously wine slushies (as pictured, with floaters!!!). Food can be brought or purchased. There is also a store with the cutest wine accessories and little finds. I stopped here at the end of the day and didn't want to leave. Will definitely return, and I recommend you do too!!

Tried the white wine named Oasis this past weekend and I was very impressed. Perfect for summer, light and refreshing , even better when it's chilled! The live music was nice today, solo guitar, not too loud like last time, definitely made our experience more enjoyable. Service was very nice . I just wished they had buckets with ice so you can keep your wine chilled longer.

This is the reason I'm not surprised I got hit by a dead fly. Don't look up!! Gross.

Servings have gotten smaller. Prices have gotten larger. My last visit was like a horror movie with the bugs everywhere. Including two dead bugs in my mulled wine, which caused me to lose 1/3 of my already tiny styrofoam cup of wine. (Hello, not earth friendly business...please use glasses like you show on your Facebook posts, enough with the styrofoam. It's not 1985.) When I quietly showed the bugs to an employee she took my cup, said "sorry about that", and walked away. Well, there goes $3 of wasted wine. It's just really not all that enjoyable here anymore. If you have to go, avoid the upstairs. If you do end up going up there, DO NOT LOOK UP. You will never be the same if you do. You've been warned! They also need to change their smoke detector batteries. The chirping of a fire hazard waiting to happen kills the vibe a little bit. Especially when you can hear it over the band.

Such a great winery. I was helped by Erin. Her service was incredible! She recommended three wines which were River Bend, Oasis and Pearl. My favorite from the selection was River Bend. I also ordered food which was flatbread. I did enjoy the meal along with the wine. The place is small and cozy with a nice outside patio. I will definitely go back to try other things on the menu. Erin was a big help!

Revisited after 9 years. They've really expanded! Unfortunately, the wine did not improve in my opinion. We also tried hard ciders-- not much better. Nice place to hang out with friends though! Ample parking and friendly staff. Tasting prices a bit more than anticipated and none of us bought anything to take home. Best thing we had was the slushie taster!

First time back at Arrigoni and kicking ourselves for not visiting more often! Huge outdoor space, live music on weekends, appetizer tasting menu, froze, cider, and of course, plenty of wine! And did we mention they're dog friendly outside? They have servers walking around so you don't even need to go inside. You can even bring your own food spread like other vineyards. Great vibes we will definitely be here more often!

Arrigoni Winery in Portland, CT has always been nice but it seems to really improved since I was here in 2019. The wine selection is more diverse, the wine slushies are great and there are plenty of seating options with live music. Service was good! Looking forward tocoming back here soon!

The atmosphere is amazing here! drinks are great and their ciders are amazing as well. I suggest the prickly pear cider they have on tap. The cheese flatbread also is really good and looks great to the eyes too!

This was quite a unique winery to visit! The wines were very enjoyable, I especially enjoyed the Rozy (Pinot Noir). The Sugar House which was a Maple & Apple wine was very interesting as was the Chocolate Love which was a Merlot & Cab Franc infused with chocolate! They also had a Mulled Red Wine that totally blew us all away!!!! It was so darn good! Massive gift shop, from candles, wooden signs, wine bottle holders, magnets, snacks, right down to Christmas & Halloween decor!!! This place had three levels of "stuff"! Plenty of seating and you are allowed to bring in your own food, however we just purchased a couple of their cheese and cracker plates, Yellow Corn Chips, Peach Salsa and Chocolate Covered Cookies! Made for a great treat while drinking it up!

Especially for someone who likes cider and wine, the Meade has a nice, refreshing flavor. The different flavor nodes of the honey make it sweeter and not bitter (personal preference). He first began experimenting with homebrewing when his brother-in-law gifted him a Mr. Beer kit. The first batch of Bergen's homebrew was awful, but the kit came with an interesting book that he read over and over again. He soon became fascinated with the science behind brewing and fermentation. Later on, a friend gifted him a bottle of homemade mead. Bergen's wife Emilie liked it much more than any beer she ever tried, so he decided to try his hand at crafting mead. Mead is a fermented beverage made from a mixture of honey, water and yeast. It is the oldest fermented beverage known to man (predating beer, wine and cider). Like his first batch of beer, Bergen's first batch of mead was also awful. After several months, Bergen finally began making mead that was drinkable. The Bergens later had an idea to open their own brewery. After seeing how many breweries that Connecticut already had, they instead decided to open a meadery. The Bergens found a space in Middletown's old trolley barn building to house their meadery and taproom. Although not the state's only meadery, Bergen House is the only one to have its own taproom for on-site consumption. I recently visited Bergen House for the first time after going for a long bike ride on the nearby Air Line State Park Trail. I was greeted by Emilie Bergen who was very friendly and talked to me about the different meads. There were eight different meads on tap during my visit. Each one has different spices and fruits added for flavoring. I ordered a sampler flight which featured "Crime Scene" (Rye Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sweet & Sour Cherry Mead), "Local Buzz" (Dry Mead made with local honey from Hilltop Apiaries), "Wally" (Off-Dry Mead made with wildflower honey, green tea and Citra hops), and "Grapefruit Meads Business" (Wildflower Mead flavored with rosemary, grapefruit & ginger). The latter two were my favorites! Emilie also gave me a small sample of "Bochet": a traditional French Mead made with wildflower honey caramelized before fermentation. I ended up taking home a growlito of "Wally", which tasted a lot like a honey-infused New England IPA. I had a great experience at Bergen House and I look forward to returning!
