    Beef carpaccio

Overall very nice meal. The wait staff was funny and clearly had practiced their lines. The food was fresh and flavorful. Started with beef carpaccio which was full of flavor. When to the spaghetti and rabbit stew. The only seats available were outside but with the heaters it was ok. Worth a visit.

Had the white truffle fettuccini and loved it! The texture of the fettuccini was perfectly chewy and the truffle sauce was well seasoned. The portions were enormous!

This was recommended to us and did not disappoint. A very Roman experience in the Trastevere part of Rome. Very much a Latin Quarter vibe. we were able to sit outside on a lovely evening. Of course being artichoke season, we had the fried artichokes and calamari as antipasto. We also had the veal chop and the lamb riblets (after the osso buco a la Romana ran out). Finished off with side spinach and a salad mista. Worst thing about the menu is there are so many good things to choose from. Really nice place - not too touristy and with great service. Would definitely come back.

When we went here there were two little tables outside so we asked if if could sit at one of them. Best decision because people watching in Trastevere is so fun. For our appendix we, we had the Roman fried artichokes. We were introduced to fried artichokes here in Trastevere. There are three ways you can get them: boiled, fried, or boiled and fried. According the the server, boiled and fried is the best. I haven't tried the other ways that they serve them, but boiled and fried was pretty awesome. For our main entree, I had carbonara and my husband had gnocchi carbonara. (We love our carbonara in Rome!). We had a satisfying and delicious meal at a cute little restaurant that I wouldn't mind coming back to again the future.

It a must. Home made food with a perfect menu, divided by type of food, type of pasta and very good wines to accompany the meal. We stopped as we were wondering around Trastevere and saw this place was full with many stickers in the door from yelp and trip advisor. We waited some minutes and the table was ready. The plates are huge, the service was great and the wine too. We could not even get to the desserts because we were so full! We loved and will be back when we visit Rome again. Great Italian ambience too.

Ate dinner here on a Sunday evening at 8:30 pm. We had a reservation, but there were a few open tables. We started with the fried artichoke, a Roman classic. Not sure I'm a huge fan of fried artichokes, but it was good to try. We then ordered the gnocchi pomodoro and the carbonara. YUM! The gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the carbonara was some of the best I've ever had. Oh, and did i mention there's 10 euro liters of house wine? Definitely come here!

Prawn risotto! So, so, so tasty! Incredibly rich, but a subtle flavor.

We came to Da Massi in Trastevere for our last night in Rome with our nearly 2-year old son, looking for a last good meal before the next leg of our trip, and wanting some seafood for a change from the more typical Roman fare we'd been eating. We couldn't have been more pleased! We ordered the fried anchovies as an appetizer. They were delicious, fried perfectly and just mildly salty. For our mains, my wife ordered the seafood risotto, which was full of clams, shrimp and mussels. I was unsure exactly what I wanted and our waiter Daniel recommended the prawn risotto. I'm SO glad I listened to him, the dish was delicious! Perfectly cooked and incredibly rich, but delicate at the same time. It was almost 8pm when we sat down and knowing our son was on the border of meltdown, Daniel was especially attentive towards us and our little one, which we really appreciated. They say Italians love children and Daniel epitomized this. Great food and great service in a great neighborhood, made for a wonderful final meal. Highly recommend Da Massi, and if you get Daniel, you'll be well taken care of!

We had heard good things about the food found in this neighborhood, so without a reservation, we went looking for a quick meal and a famous fried artichoke. Unfortunately, we were quick to learn artichokes were out of season. Whomp whomp. That being said, it is a neat little ristorante. We had the pasta carbonara and the gnocchi. Both were very good. The service was better than most Italian stops and the menu provided many options. We sat at a table on the street and enjoyed all the activity and people watching. In a pinch, we would do it again.

Pleasant surprise to find while visiting the places in Travestere. Comfortable dining room with table cloths that match the accompanying napkins. Good service and very tasty Roman cuisine.

Probably my favorite meal in Roam! Staff was super friendly and gave me an excellent recommendation. We had the melon and prosciutto then the gnocchi with egg, pork cheek and sheep cheese yummmmmmmm!!! If im ever back here I will definitely come again.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

But overall, I would recommend to go here. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.
