I'm vegan so I had their marinara pizza and it was the best pizza I had during all of my Italy trip! The sauce was incredible! The pasta dishes that my family ate were okay but the pizza was the highlight. The restaurant is a bit short staffed so would be helpful if they had a little more help. The views are beautiful but worth going to the restaurant for the pizza even if you don't get a table with views. Also, it would be nice if they added more restaurant shuttles as we waited for quite a bit of time before car came to take us back to our hotel. read more

To those that call this a tourist trap-Is it possible you were just having a bad day? As a "tourist" there's nothing I liked more than being picked up from my hotel and taken to one of the best views in Positano (you're right the view from their bathroom was also nice). Luigi - one of the owners and local grandpa - was extremely friendly. The pasta was fantastically delicious. We had a great meal and then the driver took us back to our hotel. If this is what is considered a "tourist trap" I'm happy to be trapped any time. We also met a local family and asked them where they'd go and without mentioning any names they recommended this restaurant. This restaurant was everything I could have hoped for while visiting Positano. I would definitely recommend coming here during your stay. They offer a free shuttle that will come to your hotel and pick you up and then drop you off after dinner, which is great. The restaurant is pretty out of the way so without the shuttle, it would be hard to get to. Onto the food, we ordered the mozzarella pressed between lemon leaves, and a seafood pasta and a meat sausage pasta for our entrees. The mozzarella didn't do anything for it. We couldn't really taste any of the lemon in the cheese and because they kept the windows open, it was cold and the cheese quickly hardened. It was just like eating string cheese. I wasn't impressed at all. The pastas were OK, I actually don't remember much about it, except they were both on the salty side. I am not a big fan of salt and that's one of the issues that I find in most restaurants in Italy. The food is simply too salty and you can't taste any subtlety or even the ingredients. Too bad. The pasta itself was cooked well, but I just didn't like the sauce. We also got a slice of the lemon cake for dessert and that was the best part of the meal. It wasn't too sweet and was light and lemony. We also got free lemoncello. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the place. If we came during lunch, maybe we could get a better view but not much to see at night because it's so remote and not a lot of lights at night. read more

We were brought here for lunch by our driver during a day-long tour of the Amalfi Coast. I had relatively low expectations, since I assumed that drivers get a commission for bringing "captive" customers to the restaurant during these sorts of tours. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. First, the view from the restaurant is amazing -- but as other reviewers have pointed out, this isn't surprising considering you are high on the mountain overlooking Positano. Were seated near the windows (with a view) and the service was very prompt and courteous - probably the quickest service we've experienced during our two weeks in Italy. The house bread was rustic and very fresh and our meal was a starter of grilled vegetables followed by a pasta. Everything was very good and the price very reasonable. All in all, it exceeded my expectations and we would visit again. I expect that this would be tough to get to if you are staying lower down in Positano -- but you certainly shouldn't panic if your driver brings you here during a tour. read more

Fantastic location atop a hill overlooking the Amalfi coast. There is a shuttle bus to take you to and from the restaurant, which takes roughly 10-minutes to get to from the center of Positano. The view of positano was amazing, great new perspective to look down on the city from way up high. Service was attentive. Food was good, the spaghetti and meatballs had a sauce you wish you could bottle. The seafood pasta was great, seafood very fresh though the past could have been cooked a touch more for our liking. Oh, Positano, I miss you already! We accidentally found this restaurant while we were driving through Positano. This is up the mountain a little bit from the town center, but definitely worth heading up there. There are spectacular, aw-inspiring views of the city. There was no one there when we walked in right about noon. Within 10 minutes of our arrival the restaurant filled up. We took this as a good sign because tour buses were even coming here. We guessed we had found a hidden gem. We were right. We took a seat, ordered some wine, an appetizer and our entrées. The food was really good. I had Arancini as an appetizer and penne Arrabbiata for my meal. I have the house red wine which was good and her entire meal was fairly priced. Our service was really good and the views just topped it off. Definitely make this one of your stops when you're visiting the Amalfi coast. read more

Best meal we have had in both Florence and Positano! We were in the mood for pizza so we ordered Margherita pizza coupled with spaghetti with clams and gnocchi with pomodoro and mozzarella. It was extremely fresh, everything was delicious, and best of all, very inexpensive. We had those three dishes and a bottle of water, beer, and carafe of house red for 60 euro. This may have been the best meal that I had while visiting Italy, and I had many outstanding meals. I made reservations with them for Easter Sunday in advance from the states, and they were very helpful in setting things up, even sending a driver to pick us up at our hotel in Positano. Mama cooked excellent food in the kitchen, Papa was running the front of the house, and their daughter was our waitress. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and the view from high up in the hills was fantastic. There were four of us and everything we ate was without fail outstanding. They even brought little extras to our table grown in their garden for us to try. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes to visit Positano or nearby. A bit out of the way so you will need a cab or call the restaurant for a driver. We have been to 5 restaurants since arriving in Italy and this has been the best. First off this restaurant offers a shuttle!!! Which is awesome since it's so high up. Unfortunately though the meal wasn't that great. We ordered the house wine which we didn't care for. For appetizers we ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and the Margarita Pizza which was good. For dinner we had the spaghetti and mussels, grilled steak with garlic, gnocchi, spaghetti arrabbiata, and a side order of meatballs. The meatballs were absolutely horrible. You can see in the picture that they look different. In others reviews. The steak also unfortunately wasn't good either which stinked since it was the most expensive meal. The only thing we liked was the spaghetti arrabbiata. The atmosphere was nice here but the staff wasn't that friendly and the food isn't worth coming back or recommending. read more

This is the only review I have ever written on Yelp -- that is how much we loved Da Costantino! It was our first stop on our honeymoon, & the family was kind enough to hold our luggage while we waited to check-in. My husband said the seafood pasta was the best pasta he's ever had, and the tagliatelle was so comforting that it made me wish I were sick, just so I could eat it in bed to feel better. This place is honestly mind blowing. Aida, the owner, is amazing and loves what she does and that is really reflects in her restaurant. While in Positano I was staying two houses down and decided to come here because I didn't want to walk all the way down. I loved it so much the first time that I came two more times. I tried the grilled mozzarella, and the eggplant parmesan for appetizer and the eggplant was insanely good. For entrees I had manicotti? and the spaghetti al pomodoro. They were both perfectly made and the homemade pasta was to die for. I preferred the spaghetti just because I like this a little more plain so I would go for that. Now on to the dessert, my true love, my life. I ordered the tiramisu, but they were out the first night so Aida recommended the pear and ricotta cheesecake. I cannot begin to describe how delicious it was. It was descendant, creamy, smooth and the hazelnut crust gave it a nice bite. I had it three times in the four days I was in Positano and I cannot wait to return to Positano just to have this dessert. Da Costantino is the best restaurant in Positano, better than bruno, and la taglieta. Their house wine is also a must have, only €9 for a L, I'm no wine connoisseur but it was yummy. read more

Don't waste your time going anywhere else for the best home made foods and local wine! My husband and I like to get 2 or 3 dishes and share. We had home made Gnocchis (potato dumplings) and grilled sausage (you HAVE to squeeze the lime on it, there's a reason it comes with it) local red house wine, tiramisu and the best local pear cheesecake. This was one of the only places that felt authentic to me during a trip to Positano. Most places we went to seemed to heavily cater towards tourists (USA) espcially. e.g. when I would order un caffe I would inevitably receive un caffe americano. Here however it seemed for real. We went on a very very very rainy day/night so it was semi empty. The driver who came to get us was fantastic. His english was very limited but he tried very hard to get us to talk with him as much as possible so he could practice. The dinner was fantastic. Food could not have been better. As we ate it was about half people speaking English and half speaking Italian. It seemed like there was some form of a party going on with a group of ~10 Italians. We came here as a couple but this place seems very family friendly too. Also, they even will send a private car to come pick you up from your hotel and drop you back after your meal. So very convenient.
