This spot used to have amazing, high quality Hawaiian food- giving us respite from chain Hawaiian like Ono or L&L... Fast forward to today, Jul 2025- their food has gone downhill. Rice was dry and hard, kalua pork was undercooked, bbq beef was chewy and dry, and they give the tiniest little servings of haupia and poi. Oh they also forgot to include the lomi salmon in the Hawaiian plate. Mac Salad is flavorless. I didn't mind their pricing when the food was great but we won't be returning due to their decline in food quality. Their poke was fresh and delicious though. And the folks are very nice, shame their food is awful. Quality is now below ono or L&L.

We came in first thing in the morning. Not busy at all. This place was huge, loved the decor as well as the different items available for purchase. I.E snacks, gifts from Hawaii. Was not impressed with the food. Mac salad was flavorless, the pork belly lacked flavor as well. Short ribs were decent.

Great to have a place to get a plate lunch in Temecula and they even had mini size on the menu. The ambiance was better than any Hawaiian chain out here, making you feel a bit of home here in CA. We went at dinner time and it was empty, so hoping this place stays for the long haul, and we just went on an isolated slow night. I got chicken Katsu, with two scoops rice and Mac salad. Everything was ok considering it's a mainland restaurant. Being completely transparent, I felt the Mac salad was a bit bland and a bit harder texture than it should have been. I want this place to do well, so I gave it 5, but if you read this far, maybe they will improve the Mac salad and Katsu breading. Looking forward to going back and trying the Teri Beef!

My one & only go to for my BBQ mix plate! Not only do they sell food, they have iced coffees (in which I had in the last), snacks and merch! Sometimes they hold local little markets in here too and have music performances! I ALWAYS get the Mix Bbq mix plate! The macaroni salad, 2 scoops of rice with beef teriyaki, bbq ribs and teriyaki chicken- all the flavors marry each other! My husband got the katsu plate along with the mac salad and rice. We got fhe spam fries for my kids! The spam fries were my first time trying and the dressing on top delish! My kids can't handle the spice from the Sriracha mayo but to me it was fine! The chopped spam pieces were great! Btw they give military discount, big +! Service is great as always every-time I come here. Very nice & patient. Checking in on us and how the food is.

With a name like Da Coconut Cafe we expect a certain level of quality, and Da Coconut Cafe delivers! When you walk in you are greeted by a large and well decorated dining room, plus Hawaiian goods and snacks for purchase! Our cashier went above and beyond in service, helpfulness, and human kindness. We were offered samples of butter mochi, a new potential menu item. How wonderful! We were also informed of a few ordering ideas for next time ;) The food was delicious. Creamy mac salad, delicious teriyaki chicken, and a spam musubi with the proper proportions of spam, seaweed, rice, and sauce! My vegetarian lady was able to have the vegan jackfruit plate and enjoyed the juicy saucy fruits. Come here for a wonderful time and wonderful memories!

The place is very big and clean, great for family or big groups. Fast service and yummy food. The chicken katsu was crunchy outside and soft inside. The grilled salmon was done nicely, moist and not overcooked. Would come back to try other dishes.

Being married to a local from Wahiawa, it's hard to make dinner that he likes. To cheat, I like to grab his favorite Hawaiian dishes. Must haves include teriyaki beef and short ribs. To Die FOR!!! Not too salty or saucy. Chicken wings were perfectly crispy and sweet. Perfect appetizers along with some spam musubi. Make sure to get it with a drizzle of their sauce and furikake. For desert, we got the malasadas. Another must try! Perfectly crispy edge and soft sweet bread like yumminess! They offer a 10% military discount, too :)

Decided to try breakfast today, we ordered the breakfast combo $12.95 which states on the board that it comes with spam AND Portuguese sausage, the cashier asked us to pick one meat. That was actually the Island combo for $10.95. After reiterating a couple times that the board says BOTH, she insisted we just choose just one. So we were charged for the breakfast combo, but given the island combo instead. The food took over 20 minutes just for rice, eggs and Portuguese sausage when we were the only ones in the whole restaurant. Service was definitely friendlier today, but food was still a let down, especially for the prices.

Met up partway between San Diego and LA to see some relatives. We were all so hungry, and were in search of good food (after being turned away by another spot). It was fate that we found ourselves at Da Coconut Cafe! We were so hungry, and we ordered so much (except the roast pork/lechon because they were out of pork). After placing our order, we sat down, but only after going back to look at all the merch for sale. The food came out pretty quickly. Portions were generous, especially at such reasonable prices. Everything came in plastic clamshell containers with disposable utensils. This way, if you don't finish your food, you can take it with you and eat it later. The interior is clean, spacious, and welcoming. There are even 2 rooms for private events available. The staff provided excellent service with warm and friendly attitude. Restrooms are located at the rear of the restaurant . The women's room has 2 stalls; one regular and one handicap accessible with plenty of room to maneuver for a transfer. If there was any recommendation , see if you can make it so the door doesn't stick or maybe lighten the tension because it was hard for me to open the door while using my walker. We're definitely adding this spot to our rotation for the next time we are in town/passing through and have a craving for ono grindz.

This place is tucked behind a barber shop but there is a sign to show where it is. It's a small cafe and the decor was good. I came here to get some poke. I got the Kimchi Poke and it was so good. The bowl was colorful and full of flavor. It was so delicious. I will definitely come back here. Good job Da Coconut Cafe! read more

My son-in-law Tommy introduced us to Da Coconut Cafe, I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first didn't want to pre-judge and not be disappointed, however I was more than pleasantly surprised.Authentic Local Kine Hawaiian Food. First the people Cheri and Saul the owners are wonderful hands on cooking and serving. Please Support this military veteran who is now serving those who serve and their families.As well as their staff and crew are fantastic.Nice Process points rewards system and Product outstanding true Da Kine taste great. Plus very involved with the community, very active giving back truly Ohana give this place a try you ,will not be disappointed. I keep coming back and I'm accumulating my points Great value breakfast lunch and dinner and if you have an event that needs to be catered this is the place. Really enjoyed our meals here tonight, especially the teriyaki chicken, garlic fried shrimp, lumpia, and pork. It might seem silly to mention, but the rice is SO, SO good! I should have ordered extra to bring home. My kids absolutely loved the chicken and rice mini entree that came with lumpia (hooray!). Looking forward to trying the breakfast next time! read more

Came here to grab a Masalada. Was craving them ever since I had them in Hawaii at Leonard's Bakery. This little spot happened to be near the casino so we dropped by. Great spam musubi and the pork cutlet was amazing. Macaroni salad has to be on point especially for Hawaiian style pork cutlet and theirs was the perfect balance of flavor. Super friendly staff that was more then generous to offer a new Maslada when it was over cooked. Not far from Pechanga so a quick and affordable meal. read more

So glad to have an Authentic Hawaiian place to get a good Poke bowl and REAL Malasadas in Temecula . I had a Half & Half Original Poke bowl with the traditional Sesame oil and Shoyu and a 3 pc Lumpia with chili oil. It was a perfect portion for me. My Hubby had the Hawaiian plate and said it was great too. Prices may be a bit higher than the fast food versions, but the Fish was higher quality and very fresh. Crab and seaweed salad side and good sticky rice, The hint of ginger and the crisp cucumber slices were a nice flourish. I'd say its "Ono Da Kine!" This is a Family run place and the Owner was super nice. We talked about Our many trips to Kauai and Maui with her And hope to make this place one of our local faves. Its a tiny place tucked back off the main street. But if you know Authentic Flavors you will crave this place!! They are also adding some new items to the menu, like Katsu Chicken. They have Hawaiian brands of soda and jelly and more for sale in the tiny gift corner. We welcome them to our town, I know we will be ordering Malasadas for the holidays!!!! read more

I lived in Hawaii for 11 years. Now that I live on the mainland, I miss Hawaiian food. Found this little place from yelp and the food was great. Loved this place! Had the loco moco single size and a side of lumpia and I was stuffed!! My wife had the poke bowl with the house sauce and it was some of the best poke I've had. The service was so friendly and everyone made us feel so welcome. Don't forget to grab some malasadas! I really like the filled ones, especially the coconut. I need to comeback and try everything else because I know it's going to be awesome! read more

I loved everything about this restaurant. My wife and I shared an ahi tuna poke bowl, and the fish was fresh and very delicious--especially with their great sweet and spicy sauce. The bowl came with sides of seaweed salad, imitation crab, and rice, and it was more than enough for the two of us--all for only $10.95! We just stumbled on this place as we were shopping nearby, and I am so glad we did. One of the best lunches we have had in recent memory. read more

This is my favorite place to splurge on food. Lol. I paid a lot of money on one meal, $25 one plate.. But DAMN.. That plate was ono!! I had the Hawaiian Plate with some Poke! The best part was the LAU LAU!! Damn the buggha broke the mout!! Rice was bomb! LOMI LOMI was bomb! Poke was BOMB!! And Da POI!!! Oh man.. Taste of home for sure!! I'm not a fan of the chicken long rice, my mom's is mo' beddha, but eh.. Overall, delish!! Will return!! read more

Found this place on Yelp when we finished our morning at the Alpaca Hacienda. We got the short ribs, spam masubi, and the Loco Moco. All were delicious. There is plenty of seating and they have mobile charging stations at each table. It's located in a food plaza so there are many other options if you don't find what you're looking for here. They have all the Hawaiian sugary fruity drinks for you to choose from. They also have a small merchandise section. read more

I genuinely hope this business succeeds. The quality, personality and charm is that of a perfect small owned business. Everything you see is meticulously planned and thought out. The menu items, the small Hawaiian "shop" and displays are near perfection glorifying and proudly displaying all items even the macadamia nuts! I'm on a poke bowl kick but the spam and eggs combo is calling my name. I wish nothing. It the best for this small business and will continue to support and spread the word! Ohh the food is perfection. Poke bowl was perfectly seasoned and I could bathe in the malasada. read more

Thank you for being in Temecula! The food is delicious and authentic. Had the mini plate with Kula pork. Malasada, spam Wasabi , and Dole whip for desert. Everything reminded me of being back on the island. Plus souvenirs if you want to take a piece of Hawaii home with you. The owners are Hawaiian too!!! Prices are fair and service was quick and friendly. Perfect for the family. Definitely coming back. read more

This place has a great variety on their menu. I used to live in Hawaii and visiting their store always brings me back to the island. I'm a fan of their poke, breakfast platters, and malasadas! I am a big fan of this little Hawaiian restaurant because the food is very authentic. I have spent a great deal of time in Hawaii and I always craved the food when I came back to the mainland. This place has helped fulfill those cravings. The owner, Cheri is delightful and it is always a pleasure to see her. My guilty pleasure here is the haupia malasadas. If you never have had one you are missing a life pleasure. For lunch I usually order either the teriyaki, chicken katsu, or marinated beef. The Teriyaki is about $7.00. The sides include lumpia, rice and macaroni salad. The restaurant itself is tiny with not too many tables but the food and wonderful people more than make up for it. read more

The staff displayed extremely rude behavior, the food was mediocre at best, and the prices were exorbitant. Our bill for two plates and a side of dumplings came to a staggering $79. We visited on a particularly slow day, full of anticipation for our first experience at the restaurant, as it had been recommended by a few friends. When I was in the area I heard about it a lot there was peoples who always were planning their meeting or hangouts in Da Coconut Cafe. So I thought its not a bad idea to try it once and that one time visit made me visit it often. So the first time when we were there we enjoyed the mini plates which was quite enough for us. My family is from Maui and it's so hard to find good Hawaiian food in the Temecula, Murrieta area. When I first saw Da Coconut Cafe on Merchant Monday I knew my husband and I had to try it especially since they have my favorite two Hawaiian yumminess. Spam musubi and malasadas my grandmother used to make them on Fat Tuesday but she unfortunately has stopped. The food was super yummy the musubi was amazing and the mini malasada was yummy. I really have no idea how this place has 4.7 stars. I'm originally from HAWAII and the food here is a knock off and not in a good way. Kalua pig is so oily and so salty it's uneatable. The spam musubi has no Teri glaze in it at all, just spam and rice. The katsu has no flavor at all and always looks like it's been cooked in dirty oil. And the katsu sauce is probably the worst I've ever had. I hate to say this but I'd rather eat at L&L then at this place. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Just delicious, I love the decor, I love the food. Best part is that it's family owned, family loved, family operated with family recipes. Most island flavor chains provide an overly sweetened sauce on a boring bowl of normal food.
