This restaurant was one of the highlights of our visit to the Amalfi coast. The view was gorgeous, service was incredible and the food was phenomenal. Dishes are prepared using ingredients from their organic farm located below the restaurant. Recipes are family secrets and as a patron you feel so lucky to taste them. They are family friendly. My 6 year old enjoyed his meal very much. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

This restaurant is amazing, definitely one of the best meals I've had in my life, if not the best. Luigi, our private driver recommended it as a local favorite. The restaurant has been operating since the early 1900's and we met many locals who have been going there their whole lives. Family owned and operated, the three brothers took very good care of us. They let us in early for cocktails and then we had the traditional five course meal and were also given a ride home by one of the brothers. One course we had was a seafood pasta baked in a bag, locking in the flavor and moisture. Do not think twice about eating here, it is superb.

The house made limoncello and melon liqueur at the end of the night made it even better.

What a fun beachside restaurant! My family chartered a boat on a recent visit to Marina de Cantone…read moreand the captain suggested we stop in at La Tonarella. What a great experience. We all split an assortment of fresh seafood appetizers. Everyone got a pasta dish. And all split their house wine. Everyone finished with a clean plate and the owner even brought us out a crab on the house. The story of the restaurant is super. From the family owning and operating to the former First Lady stopping in. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting.

They never glanced in our direction. They tossed our plates down without looking where they put them. At one point, a server threw a bag of bread on our table after we'd finished our dinners. She was walking by, didn't slow down, and tossed a bag of bread in front of my son. When we first arrived, they asked if we had taken the boat from Amalfi. We hadn't, and after that, everything seemed to change. If you do decide to eat here, maybe say yes to the boat question. I'm thinking maybe they charge a table fee for the people who take their water taxi, and that's why they didn't want us there. Who knows. Overall, I wish we had gone somewhere else. I can't remember ever eating at a restaurant that felt so dismissive. It wasn't just passive-aggressive--it felt like they were put off by us being there, which was really weird. We spent a lot of money there. I'm at a loss. They were getting on very well with the tables near us. I loved Italy so much; this was by far the worst experience we had on our trip. There is another restaurant right next to this one on a dock. If you have the choice, I'd definitely go to that one. 5 stars to the one on the dock.

We came late in the season and it was a bit cold so some heat lamps would've been nice. The service was also very slow. We were the only ones at the restaurant. If you are staying in Amalfi you definitely have to experience one of the restaurants on the beach!…read moreRistorante Santa Croce is reachable only via water, they do have a private boat service that picks you up at the harbor in Amalfi and takes you right at the restaurant. The restaurant is family owned, Raffaele is the owner and his son Salvatore helps out both on the beach and with the boat service. The specialty here is obviously seafood, seafood pasta was bomb as well as the grilled calamari. At the bar they sell Algida ice creams as well as sun block and towels (5 euro or 10 euro depending on the size and quality). If you want you can hang out by the beach for the price of only 10 euro for 2 tanning bed and a ombrella!! Pretty good deal considering you are in one of the most expensive areas in Italy! Whenever you want to go back to Amalfi Salvatore will take you via boat - the boat service is included in the restaurant price (2 people having appetizer pasta and grilled calamari was not even 50 euro!!!) amazing!!
