    Fish and chips combo
    Jordan H.

Stop at this little fish and chips shack after disembarking our cruise ship. Just wanted to grab a bite so we weren't so hungry walking around. So glad we did stop at this spot. Most people would walk past because it just a little tiny shack but their fish and chips were amazing. We shared one combo and I almost went and ordered another one because it was so good. If you're in Ketchikan, AK I would highly recommend stopping at this spot and grabbing some fish and chips!

When we decided to travel to Alaska, I knew fish and chips would be on our must eat list. Clearly, it didn't originate here but the fish are so fresh you can't say no! D's Fish and Chip Shack is in a prime spot, right in front of the cruise ships! With the quality and flavor of the dish I have to say they are reasonably priced. Ordered the Cod Fish and Chips for $22, it was so fresh, hot, seasoned well and crispy! We met a young lady during our travels, Amy Butcher who was on our ship promoting her book Mothertrucker (add to your book list), done with her tour, heading back home to Ohio (I think) She gave this place extra kudos and said every time they dock there, it's a must eat spot and I have to agree!

Found on the pier in front of cruise ships!

Ambience. B Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on Front street on Pier at end of town. Get right off the cruise ships and get some delicious creamy chunky clam chowder. Served with clam crackers. Also, had the 3 halibut. Small as in your palm. Fried to order. Nice batter and hot flaky fish. Eat quick as wind and cold today cooled off my food quickly. Picnic table avail in great sunny weather. I'm a Fan!

Stopped by to grab a quick bite before we went back to the ship. Ordered 2 Ketchi-Combo and a clam chowder. Everything was delicious, esp the clam chowder. There's picnic tables outside where you can sit and eat. Def recommend!

Great place to grab a quick bite of food near the cruise dock! I grabbed a quick bite to eat here and ordered the Ketchi-Combo, which has halibut, salmon, and cod fish and chips. The wait was a little long, but understandably so given the long line of people/orders. We didn't know until we got our order, but they ran out of salmon but the supplemented it by giving us additional halibut and cod. The food was delicious and served very hot, and it really hit the spot! I wish I was able to try the salmon fish and chips, but that will give me a reason to come back here!

Tried Fish and Chips all over Alaska. All kind of meh. One would think Alaska would be a good place for deep fried halibut. Problem is, we had to wait until our last stop for the best fish and chips. It's pricey, but everything in AK is. It was hot, crispy and tasty. The fries were shoestring style, also hot, crunchy and tasty. Who would have thought a tiny shack right on the dock would give my all time fav place in HI (Opakapaka fish and chips) a run for the money. Almost forgot, the salmon taco was on point! Again, pricey, but hey, we were on holiday. Good on ya mates, way to rep AK!

D's provides a nice taste of Ketchikan at the cruise port. We ordered fish and chips, the fish taco and salmon burger. They have a small staff, so there was a bit of a wait following ordering, but everyone enjoyed their food. I would have liked just a tad more seasoning on my fish and chips (halibut), but it was still hot and fresh. Good stop and opportunity to try out a local item.

Quick, easy and simple fish shack. Had the salmon burger. It was good and the service was quick. Port side so you could see the town and the ships.

    Halibut and chips

The halibut and chips were so good. The fries were cooked to perfect greasy Krispy perfection. Staff working were beyond nice. I loved this place.

Front of shack right outside cruise ship terminal.

Great meal! Low key and right by the cruise ship. The fish was DIVINE! Take the opportunity to stop by and try them. You won't regret.

We paid $22 for two 3" pieces of fish and fries. At least they could give you a decent size portion. Do eat here!

We appreciate the special Ketchikan specific additions of Filipino food and chicken wings, making the menu choices significantly larger than I would assume it is at other franchise locations in Washington or beyond. Considering there isn't many other fast food options in town, it isn't bad! A little on the spendier side but it is Rural Alaska to be fair. My family enjoys when we treat ourselves to a meal here and it's usually busy during weekday lunch. We wish hours were a little later, but we understand the mall closes early so it's partially out of their control.

On a drizzly July day with several cruise ships docked, we waited over 30 minutes during the prime lunch hour to order our food, with the line far outside the door and onto the sidewalk. But the line moves fast and we found seats in the 2nd dining room (there's also outdoor seating weather permitting). The food came quickly, a little over 10 minutes after we ordered. My wife chose the Alaskan Sampler Fish & Chips, with one of each of the 3 fried fish options: Pacific Cod, local Silver Salmon and local Halibut. It also came with a generous portion of fries as well as a side of coleslaw. Of all the fish, the halibut was her favorite. She surprisingly enjoyed the coleslaw, as it was dressed with a house-made vinaigrette and wasn't sweet (like many other places use mayo and relish). There was malt vinegar and ketchup on the tables. My salad had a huge salmon filet covering it, with vinaigrette on the side. It was very filling, and I felt better about myself for choosing a healthier option at port after days of overeating on this cruise. We did order sodas with our meal. There is a self-serve soda fountain with free refills. There is also a small bar inside the dining room where you can order draft beer as well as wine and cocktails.

The place is located close to the pier so very convenient if you are coming from the cruise lines. The place is popular but they do have enough seating that although you may need to wait a bit you can eventually find seating. It's rustic and a fitting place for the kind of food they serve. The crab is ridiculously overpriced. The fish and chips is also expensive but at least you get to pick the fish between salmon, cod or halibut. The breading is slightly thick for my liking but my main problem has to do with the oil. I usually prefer fresher oil. The food is ok. I think the blackened salmon is probably the best bet for most of the items they offer such as the rice bowls or the tacos. You order first and then you get seating. They clean up quickly so if you wait for a table you don't have to wait long. Overall it's a food tourist spot that has overly expensive food but not bad enough to avoid. They have a patio and the interior is rustic fish house style.

We saw this taco spot and figured we'd give it a shot. We ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and garlic butter scallop tacos, served with chips and mango salsa, and both were incredible. We're from Southern California and have had our fair share of seafood tacos -- these were some of the best! The chowder had great flavor and the mocha iced coffee hit the spot too. Great sized beer too. We were rushing to make our shuttle, and they got everything out quickly enough for us to enjoy our meal and still make it on time. Our table was by a kiosk where the waiters come to put in orders and there was a Caucasian guy that worked there that was griping to his coworkers about cruise customers.
