The D'Nuez crepes are amazing! I've gotten my whole family addicted! First restaurant to ever offer Lechera and Cajeta! The D'nuez coffee is also my favorite. It was a rainy Saturday and I was in search of some good coffee. I didn't think I would have any luck but lo and behold D'Nuez. I can't count how many times I have passed this spot. It's kind of tucked away.I'm so glad I decided to stop in. The service was very good. The house special coffee with cinnamon was muy excelente and my chicken & artichoke panini with a strawberry side salad was definitely delicious! The food is great, and if I could rate the food alone I'd give it a five. However, their service absolutely sucks. I've been here about 5 times and each time there is something: others get seated before me ( His has happened 3/5 times I've gone. they take forever to serve/take orders and forget whenever I do ask for something. Today I wanted to give them another chance, was sitting there for 15 minutes and no one came to greet us. The restaurant was full and not a single waitstaff for at least those 10 solid minutes. Decided to look into new places for a quick bite. Very impressed. Had the Mexican Club & my wife had the Buffalo Club. Great flavor on both sandwiches, creative serving them as clubs. Super cute little place. The staff is nice and very attentive. The menu has everything! And it's all natural and homemade. I ordered the D' Nuez crepes with lechera (condensed milk) they come with three crepes they have strawberries, kiwies, bananas, really sweet mangos, and whipped cream as a filling. They are to die for! Not too sweet but I was full with half. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles with salsa verde. Those came with a side of eggs, rice and a small salad all on one plate. "Well I forgot to put in your order" wow!! If you enjoy waiting hours for food and dealing with arrogant ownerships and bad customer service practices, you want to check this place out.. I NEVER EVER really write reviews on yelp because I never really feel to moved positively or negatively to do so, but i just had the worst experience with some of the staff from this place including and especially owner. I ordered about $30 worth of food through their online ordering system roughly around 12:45pm. It did state that it was between 45-60min wait, which I didn't have a problem with. The estimated time of arrival was 2:08 based on the restaurants confirmation. At 2:20pm still no sign of my order. I contacted the restaurant via online at that time and they said it was going to be about another 30min. Which by then I was a bit upset, so I decide to give them a call, the young lady who picked up the phone related to me that, she did see my online message and will get the food out to me in 30min. I told her that would be unacceptable because I had to leave for work in 20min. She then stated it would be about 15min. Against my better judgement of me even wanting to give them my money I asked, how much would it be including tax, she stated $33 and some change plus a delivery fee. I was blown away that after such horrible service they were still charging me the delivery fee I asked "why did it take so long" and first they said "well it did say about an hour wait," which it had been well over after I pointed that out to them, the manager stated "well my cashier simply forgot to put in the order." I couldn't believe it. Now I understand mistakes happen, but their attitude made it all that much worse. Finally the owner arrived to deliver the order at 2:56pm. When I explained the situation, he simply stated, "yea that happens sometimes" as I was talking to him, he was rushing me to give him the money and kept on repeating.. "it's busy on weekend." I am writing this review as i go , first of all nice little place so welcoming and clean, we started with a cappuccino and a Mango milkshake, cappuccino so tasting and strong they have a variety of flavors (eggnog caramel and chocolate ) the shake was ok. Ok just got my D NUEZ MIX its Crepes with fruit and Nutella they are AWESOME its a Bomb on every bite. Love this place! Wasn't expecting it to be anything great but I was wrong! My husband & I are foodies so things must be top notch. I had their chilaquiles de mole. Loved them! I don't usually ever go for mole but the waitresses recommended them so I gave them a shot. They're sweet and not too spicy and the sides weren't bad either. Good portions. Also! Ive came here twice. The first time was great but the waitress me and my friends had didnt even offer us coffee refills. I passed on that though cus I loved the food. If I could give 0 stars I would. Service is mediocre and the waitresses never come to even check how everything is but yet the charge their tip on the bill starting at 4 ppl. Never has a restaurant done that for 4 people! Min. is usually at 5people. To top it off I ordered my daughter a simple grilled cheese 5mins after placing everyone's order. They never brought it the entire time we were eating. I assumed they had forgotten and it was fine since I shared my food with her. Once the bill comes they charged the grilled cheese and I tell the waitress she goes to the back and brings my grilled cheese in a to go box saying the cooks had just brought it out. The thing to do would have been to take it off my bill and called a day specially since they gave me a milkshake that they mixed with a dirty blender (this was told to me by a waitress since I had sent my milkshake back because it tasted like cucumber and yet it was a CHOCOLATE milkshake.) YES the own waitress tasted and told me it probably tasted like this because they probably had left some of the water from the previous mix in the blender. Yuk! . But now I am stuck paying for a "to go grilled cheese" and terrible service. Oh and to add on their restaurant is extremely hot and it made eating there that much worse. Sad to say, but this is my last time coming here. I was a regular at this spot since they first opened and I would come here for their cafe de olla and strawberry salad. But today, was the worst experience I've had here. I've had bad experiences before but I overlooked them because I really like the food here but today was just about enough I could take. We walked in and there was empty tables, the waitresses all looked very busy in the back near the kitchen and still we had to be seated in the waiting area and waited 40 minutes to get a table. Even though there were three EMPTY tables. I went to go ask how much more time we had to wait. And the waitress was very snappy and told me in Spanish "you're not the only one waiting... and the tables need to be cleaned" there was only a lady with her dad waiting before us. (We could have both already been seated) so when we finally get seated, the table she sat us in was really dirty! It had fries all over the floor and pieces of food and the SAME waitress had the nerve to ask me "do you want me to clean that?" I at that point gave her the death stare because she had just snapped at me telling me she couldn't seat me because they were supposedly cleaning tables. We then sat there for 10 more minutes with no menus and she comes and asks us what would we like to order... ummm we had no menus.. so then when we ordered and received our food. The strawberry salad I ALWAYS get didn't have fresh strawberries and they really cut back on the chicken. It felt like they just rushed and threw it together. My husbands chicken avocado sandwich also looked like something I would make him at home.. overall it was a bad experience and I could tell they didn't put any thought into the food this time around. I'm assuming they had a bunch of online orders and couldn't handle both seated customers and online orders. One of the waitresses also was running in and out of the restaurant to go buy ice at the little store next door. And then she ran out again and came back with a pineapple. That made me feel uncomfortable as well. I just wouldn't go back. Especially with snappy waitresses, dirty tables, and food that isn't the best quality I know they could give!
