DON'T PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! I called to schedule service for my daughter and I. Since today is prom, I decided to change the time for my services but, I still sent my daughter for waxing. While my daughter was at the salon (without me), I called to reschedule. No one answered. So, I called my daughter's phone to have her relay my reschedule request. The guy asked if I could call back on the store's phone. I did. The woman answered and said there was an opening at 4:30 but, didn't see an existing appointment for me. She then asked that I speak to the guy to see who's lying. Since the guy took the initial call, I agreed to speak to him. He acknowledged my call but, didn't schedule the appointment. What should've happened was he acknowledged the mistake of not recording the appointment. Schedule the new time and service my daughter. Instead, it was a complete waste of time! read more

I was a walk-in, and they turned me away. I was told by the owner that I needed to call on the phone and make an appointment. I stated that I was already there and wanted to make an appointment. Again, the owner replied, " I need to call to make an appointment. At this point, I felt somewhat upset. Because I didn't understand his Business etiquette. The owner told me that I didn't agree with the decision. I need to take my business elsewhere. I was shocked by his attitude and business etiquette. Please, avoid going there. Treated so terribly, attitude was of so much disrespect and hatred toward us because of our skin tone. Literally the transaction was canceled because I asked "you want me to pay proof to receiving the service? Okay" with no attitude or anything. This owner seemed to not want to do it regardless. First-time customer, I made an appointment for myself and my daughter several days before. The first red flag is that they asked me to pay for my nails in advance to being serviced! It was odd, but I still tried to give this business a chance. Once we arrived on time for our appointment we were poorly greeted and dismissively told to pick a color and wait to be seen. After several minutes we asked what time we'd be serviced so that we could determine if there was time to make a run to the atm for cash (being that this location charges an additional $3 for credit card use). Before we could fully explain that, the nail tech receptionist assumed we were not returning and had a very apparent attitude about it. We tried to explain that we were willing to wait, but wanted to know for how long the delay would be since we did in fact have an appointment. Once we explained, the nail tech receptionist immediately accused us of constant complaining and expressed her annoyance about us wanting better communication as to when our our service would actually begin. She said "we are short staffed and can't guarantee that you'll be seen at your appointment time. Why are you complaining...what? You don't want to talk with me anymore?" She then yelled that the earliest either of us would be seen would be at least 30 minutes later. Mind you, there were two of us waiting for one nail tech, and we did not have the time to wait indefinitely. My granddaughter who happened to be waiting in the lobby areas for my daughter and I recommended to me "perhaps we should leave now and make an appointment here for another day when they're better staffed." By this point, another male nail tech overheard this conversation and jumped in by yelling "maybe you all should just leave! If you have a problem with my receptionist, then you have a problem with us all!" This reaction was a total shock and certainly did not come off professional. Ultimately we left with our money still in our pockets. The customer service at D Nails in Smyrna, DE is horrendous! I would rate this zero stars if I could. I do not recommend. Getting your nails done should be a pleasurable and relaxing experience. Don't waste your time or money at this type of establishment. There are plenty of other salons around that would appreciate your business. read more

Staff is rude... I said hello when I walked in and no one responded. Asked for warmer water in the pedicure tub and it immediately started a barrage of non English conversation among the staff-but still no warm water. Asked for my misshapenly filed nails to be corrected and was switched to another station. And upon returned from the sink with a napkin I placed in the table... I was asked why I didn't throw the towel away in the back and accused of giving it to the tech to dispose of. I always keep the napkin so I can get the water from under my nails as I walk to my seat AND keep it to go under my nails when my service is complete. Once my service was done and I asked for change I was met with a loud chastisting for throwing the towel at the tech... ummm no I put the stupid towel on the table in the opposite side of the arm rest because there was zero room to put it on my side. So needless to say I kept my tip and left. While the services are reasonably priced, it's not worth the weirdness and rudeness of the staff. The worst nail salon. Made a appointment waited 3 weeks. Got there a little early, they allowed me to soak my feet. Then she finished her customer, came to me proceeded to do my feet. She took tools and lightly touch my feet. I looked down at feet, she didn't cut cuticles, nothing. I asked her to at least cut cuticles. She said you don't like, I said you're not finished. She then demanded me to pay before she completed her job. I said you didn't do anything, she demanded money. I said I wasn't paying. I got up, left. I told I was going to report her. ried to charge full price for a pedicure when they didn't do hot towel, lotion, or massage, seven I brought it to there attention and asked that they just take $5 off the price. They got extremely rude called me a liar, and said that security footage showed that he did do it, I then asked for them too show me the footage and they refused, because they know I caught them in a lie. Then owner purposely gave me a botched full set, which next day my nails started to pop off. Also I scheduled a 1:30 appointment they didn't start till 2:30. Don't come here! They are rude! I noticed that they are ruder to some more than others. I noticed that white people who come through the door are greeted where as black and brown not so much. They don't know how to do basic designs that most salons know how to do. Don't waste your money here. Extremely weird behavior here. I was visiting this salon from out of town and wanted a pedicure. The salon wasn't the cleanest but I was trusting the recommendation of a local so I stayed. I received a mediocre pedicure and really didn't have any conversation with my nail tech. The strange part is there was another nail tech here (a female) that kept recording my sisters and I. We didn't discover until we were leaving but I clearly saw her holding her phone up and in my direction with the phone following we were walking. I quickly turned my face and my sister so we wouldn't be in the camera. I said loudly " I have to go it's getting weird and I don't like it". After paying, I left with my younger sister and went outside. My older sister was still inside so I called to tell her what happened only to find out the same happened to her when she first arrived. Most horrible pedicure of my life! The guy doing the pedicure was so busy watching the tv and talking to his co-worker that he cut me with a nail clipper. It wasnt even my cuticle it was the side of my toe so that clearly shows he was not paying attention at all!! I was completely disgusted and as much as I wanted to get up and leave I sat there and let him finish after making him spray my toes with rubbing alcohol. He barely cleaned under my nails, did not scrub or exfoliate. I am doing this review the same day I got the pedicure and I just got done scrubbing dead skin on the bottom of my feet. Waste of my $20. Would of been better to let my dog lick my feet, same effect.  The guy doing the pedicure knew I was upset and didn't speak to his manager regarding the incident. I went here just to get two fake nails removed. I was turned away because "they don't know how to remove and they didn't originally put them on and there looks like blood on your nail". After 4-5 excuses and even after I told them that I painted my deck yesterday-- no blood, just paint---they still refused. I even offered to pay for a full manicure, and they still refused. We arrived on time for our appointment, only to find that several others were scheduled at the same time. When I inquired as to whether we were both going to be able to be serviced at the same time, I was told that we were not and there was no guarantee of when the others service would be started. Of course I asked why even accept an appointment if you can't honor it. I was then rudely told that it was Easter weekend and if I didn't like it, I could leave. I absolutely love this place! They always do quality work and are super friendly. The atmosphere feels so much more intimate than most nail salons, which makes it way more relaxing. I occasionally take my young daughter with me, and she always has a great time and the staff are always so accommodating to her. I took my twelve yr old daughter there to get her first set of acrylics for an event. I asked for 3-4 diamonds on one finger of each hand it to make classy. The female nail technician loaded my daughters nails up with all diamonds which made it look really gaudy. When I asked the technician to remove it, the manager told me it was an extra $10 to redo of the nail. He was very rude and offensive because I asked for a redo.
