Okay here's my review that I have been excited to leave. Why? Because @first contact with Andrew in the office I had that thought (you know the one when we have when feel good about someone) "wow these guys are on it! Please be awesome because I'm tired of dealing with idiots!" Well first the owner Drew arrived exactly when his assistant said he would. I know shocker. Then the best part, Drew turned out to be cool laid back amazing guy. Again I had the thought "I hope he's good". Well he was not only good he was Amazing! He knew 5x more then every other plumber we had at the house. Long story short our ranch property is 4 acres with a lot of irrigation. D. Lewis Co. provides a service that they call Utility Locating. A plumber recommended them to help us find the source of a mysterious sewage smell. I had searched the internet for people who tracked down bad smells in the area, and found nothing. I'm not sure who I would have turned to had I not found the D. Lewis Company. They can send a camera into your sewage lines to see what's up, or put a smoke bomb in there to find leaks. They also use their brains and knowledge. I was prepared for them to find a leak that would require a big plumbing bill to repair. Turns out they found my sewer vents on the roof were clogged, and they unclogged them for me. If you live in the greater LA area and you have a mysterious bad smell and need professional help to find the source, give them a call. read more

Once again my fellow yelpers helped me to find an honest, reliable, and professional company. A few days ago, my gardener noticed some water seeping from my front planter. I thought it might have been a sprinkler line that had cracked, but after I shut off the water supply to them, the water seeping continued. So next up, shut down the valve at my house manifold. Checked the meter, and it stopped. Okay, not the mainline. Next, check the house. I turned off all water at the numerous angle stops and made sure no appliances were drawing water and off to the meter I went. Yep. Looks like I have a slab leak. This sucks! So to yelp I go to find the best leak detection company around. And find the best I did. I called D. Lewis Co. and a very polite Andrew answered the phone. I was scheduled for the next morning, perfect! Not 5 minutes later, Andrew calls back and says the owner, Drew, will be in my area and can stop by now if it will help. Yes please! 20 minutes later Drew shows up. I brief him on everything I did, and he grabs his gear and gets to work. To say he is professional is an understatement. He took his time and located my leak with exact precision, down to the "X" marking the spot and lines for each side of the pipe. He wasn't even off by a half inch! I asked if he could help me locate pipes to help me with my decision on a repipe. He was more than happy to help. And help he did!!! D. Lewis Company was recommended by a plumber for leak detection. Saw the good ratings from Yelp and submitted a quote request. I received a call within two hours from Andrew who explained the pricing and services very thoroughly and what to expect. They arrived early to our scheduled appointment. They were able to determine the leak wasn't in the house and began checking the rest of the property. They found the leaking sprinkler control valve and capped it. I moved out to Thousand Oaks about 5 years ago and didn't know the first thing about how to find a good leak detector or even that there was such a thing. This company was referred to me by Thousand Oaks Plumbing. Andrew called me the same day that I left them a message. He explained in detail as to their process and gave me the best and worst case scenario which I greatly appreciated. He was also very flexible with setting up an appt for me considering I have a very busy schedule. A guy named Tim came to my house to do the work. Very nice guy. He even let my puppies jump all over him and acted as if it didn't bother him. (I wouldn't blame him if it did bother him.) He was able to locate the leak pretty quickly. We found out the day before yesterday that we might have a leaky pipe when a representative from the water company came to the house to let us know that we had had high water usage for a couple of months. I immediately called Thousand Oaks Plumbing who referred me to D. Lewis Co to come and find the leak. Yesterday, Drew and his assistant, Jake came to our home to do their detective work. Although I didn't have any idea where the leak was, within an hour they had checked all of the plumbing in the house and found the leaky pipe. Drew and Jake were awesome and very reasonably priced. Breaking your main water line under your driveway is never a pleasurable experience but the team at D. Lewis and Co and Thousand Oaks Plumbing helped eradicate my problem in a timely and professional manner. We first called Thousand Oaks plumbing and worked with Tony who helped shut off our water main. We were referred to D. Lewis where I spoke to Andrew in the office who was able to arrange Drew to come out at 730a on Friday to help locate the leak. He understood that I had two toddlers and was going to do his best to get somebody to come out as soon as possible so we can get Thousand Oaks Plumbing and their team to eradicate the issue. Drew came on time at 730a and was off by only 9 inches which is incredible considering we had trees trimming and Santa Ana winds in the background the entire time. Larry from Thousand Oaks plumbing came out shortly after and was able to provide my family with a temporary water line which allowed me to utilize my home over the weekend. He also helped me assess a few other issues within our house that needed fixed. Larry was fantastic and I felt like he was looking out for the wellbeing by identifying things that needed to be fixed. Miquel did an incredible job fixing the main water line in our driveway only creating a small hole 2x2 hole in our driveway. It looks incredible and I am grateful that he took so much pride in his work. The office staff was remarkable as well. They were able to schedule quick appointments with the same team and in a timely fashion. I even called the afterhours line and got a call back within a few hours. I would highly recommend the entire team and I appreciate them taking the time to calm my nerves and explain everything they were doing. I just had an unusual experience. I had called to inquire about services but did not make an appointment. I had a nightmare weekend with 2 plumbers trying to discover a leak while discovering water and mold under a linoleum floor while getting a tile job done. After having my water shut off and a lot of plumbing work done, D Lewis came out for leak detection after the whole experience was over. I did not make an appointment but for some reason they thought I had. The young man who came out was very nice and understood. I explained what had happened. He agreed not to charge me for the misunderstanding. He did take a listen with his machine to my sprinkler valves which I think was the cause of the whole problem. There was only a slight almost non-existent leak. I just wanted to say customer service like this, even for a miscommunication is rare. If and when I do need leak detection again (hopefully not!)
