The last year I brought my second wedding ring in to get fixed , a few days later, it broke. He decided that it could not be fixed so then we decided to make it into a charm. Then we had to put it on a sterling silver necklace, which was way too expensive. That was kind of a shit show ,the whole process. My other engagement ring needed to be fixed and when I showed it to him, he said it was fine but it's not. There is a crack in it. I think the biggest issue that really made me mad was there was a bracelet in the vintage section. It was pretty. Silver hearts held together by thin bands. I asked how much it was. He said 100 bucks. I,I Knew it was too much. But I have a spending issue when it comes to jewelry . He would not go down on price even though I've been a great customer for so many years. It was a little different so I decided to buy it. Two days later, it got hooked on something and broke. I was mortified. Three days later, I went into a resale shop, and I saw the exact same bracelet for five bucks. Did he scam me? Idk. I guess I think of all the money I spent in this place and it makes me angry. I won't ever go back.

Truth be told, I tend to be an indecisive person and was all over the place sometimes -- what to involve my partner in, what to decide on for myself, which diamond to get, etc. Any time I felt overwhelmed by my own over-thinking, Priscilla and Villi were there to guide me. And every single time, they knew exactly what to do. It was magic. I am so appreciative of their patience. I was in love with the final ring, and I was impressed with how well it fit and how it ended up being exactly what Sarah wanted. If you're looking to purchase an engagement ring for an upcoming proposal, or even looking for any other custom jewelry, I would not look anywhere else - they are the experts! Thank you again.

We clicked with her right from the start- she's the best combination of easy going but also passionate about what she does. She was extremely helpful during the whole process. We first went just to get an idea of design and she went above and beyond- taking notes of exactly what small elements of different rings I liked to ultimately create the most perfect design. We had visited one other jeweler before Numined and the sales person there said that we would need to make a separate appointment for any "custom" work. We didn't feel valued at that location. Going to Steven's Jewelers was honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made, hands down. I…read morewas nerve-wracked trying to figure out how to get my wife the best ring that I could, not being well-versed in the diamond industry, and I can honestly say that I could not have stumbled upon more upright, principled, intelligent, honest and talented Jewelers than Steven and Kathy. They literally personalized the entire ring, down to the smallest details, just for me, and saying that they went above & beyond to make sure that everything was perfect for my wife and her ring would be the understatement of the century. I am honestly blown away with the level of thoughtfulness and care that they showed to me, let alone the exquisite craftsmanship and skill that they exhibited!! Steven is definitely one of the best artists in the industry, and it really showed in just how expertly he crafted my wife's ring. The precision he used when breaking the diamond, and the skill he exhibited in shaping it to give it just an awe-inspiring sparkle (the colors of the rainbow literally dazzle the eye & shine when my wife walks around, even at night... I saw it catching the eyes of unawares passersby multiple times on a night out downtown) is simply unmatched. And Kathy is in a league of her own in terms of her artistic ability to match design and functionality in the construction of the band. She designed it specifically for me and my wife, even utilizing its own curvature to shape out the first letter of our last name in beautiful fashion. I was simply blown away. Not only that, but she went way above the extra mile and got me a box to present the ring in, fitted with a small light so that the full radiance of the diamond could be shown in the crucial moment when I present the ring to my wife. My wife was simply floored when I gave it to her, and I owe that 100% to Kathy & Steven--THANK YOU!! The level of care and attention that I received, and the overall genuine concern for making this the best possible experience for me is honestly something that is, to use a phrase, as common as finding a diamond in the rough for consumers in this industry, and when you find people like that you are truly appreciative. I wanted nothing but the best to propose to my wife with, and yet was ill equipped to do that on my own. Thank god that I found & went with Steven's Jewelers! It is unquestionable that if I went to a normal jewelers, a Macys, or other kind of windowshopping that I wouldn't have gotten half the quality that I did and surely would have paid double the price. Steven went out of his way to explain to me the ins & outs of the industry, and what criterion to use to measure the quality of a diamond, in a way that no average jeweler could--or if they could, would--do. But Steven just cared that much about making sure I made as informed a choice as possible. I honestly feel like I could teach a comprehensive course on the industry & diamond quality now! If you are just going to a Kay's and asking about color & clarity trust me that you will be wholly uninformed. You need a stand up, family-owned company like Steven's to give you the attention & honesty to make a truly informed purchase when it comes to diamonds. I am honestly so blown away with the service I got from Steven & Kathy--I never write reviews, let alone long diatribes like this, but felt I had to let people know what a truly fantastic company this is. And on top of everything, Steven & Kathy were so nice! From the second I walked in I felt as though I was being treated with the same care and respect that would be given a close friend or family member. I was a bit nervous about being able to find the right ring and Steven's lighthearted joviality and passion and dedication to his work simply washed all of that away! Honestly if you are in the Chicagoland area and are looking to get an engagement or wedding ring to give to your significant other and you were lucky enough to stumble across Steven's page, absolutely DO NOT look any further. And this isn't a sales pitch or anything for them, I just truly know from the bottom of my being that you will not find a more dedicated, honest, good-hearted expert craftsmen that will commit 100% to personalizing the best ring for you and yours than Steven & Kathy. They are truly a special breed, and are in a league of their own. Do yourself a favor and go to Steven's Jewelers, you will not be disappointed.
