Our little leagues season just kicked off and I couldn't be happier... We missed last season due to Covid, so I'm thrilled the kids are able to play this year. That being said, my kids are definitely over due for some batting practice and need to boost their confidence when it comes to batting. So, you guessed it... enter D-Bat Scottsdale. I had no clue that this place existed until I received an email about it from our Little League... and to think they've been open since February 2020 and I had no idea. I sure missed out on a ton of solid batting practice! Well... my kids did ;) I took my son and his buddy to D-Bat Scottsdale and was super impressed with the facility. It's clean, spacious, and covid cautious. The staff is friendly and the technology is impressive. The boys hit 3 different speeds of baseball pitches - both fast balls and curve balls. I jumped in to hit a couple of different softball pitches too. We all had a blast and cannot wait to return. I am hoping my son will be up for a pitching lesson or two in addition to continuing to use the batting cage! If you're looking for a fun activity, D-Bat is great... there are also a handful of other great activity options in the same shopping center. Enjoy!

Love this place. Clean, cool temperature, fun. The only thing I can't stand is having to collect all the balls to refill the machine. But at least it forces me to get some more exercise. One suggestion: make the floor slanted slightly to allow the balls to roll back down towards the machine to make things easier. Great family fun and I'm always sore afterwards! Lol

I will sleep at home said last

It was the only riding school I could find that would take my daughter, who was 4 at the time. Janice told me that as long as it was her choice to ride, her age wasn't an issue. All the other places I contacted had a minimum age of 5. Since then she has had the same horse, Lucky, and instructor, Julie, who's been really great. Julie is patient and knowledgable. She also gives compliments when needed and is firm when warranted, which my daughter has responded really well too. And Lucky...he's just the sweetest horse ever. Overall, I've had a really good experience with Twin Acres and those I've interacted with the past few years. I also wanted to mention that when my daughter turned 5 I threw her a "horse" themed party. I asked Janice if there was any way she could surprise my daughter with a visit from Lucky. She wasn't sure because the school had an event that day but the Saturday afternoon of the party, Janice and Julie arrived to give the birthday girl a special ride. Lucky looked amazing with ribbons in his hair and glitter on his hooves. It was a party my daughter still talks about.

She is incredibly knowledgeable about all things equestrian and she's unbelievably patient with riders. Her horses are well cared for (you might even say spoiled) and even tempered so they are great for beginners and those who already know their stuff. If you are in the Phoenix metro area and have any interest in riding, this is the place to go.

I have family members who are Valley of the Sun JCC members though. I have always been impressed with their facilities, thought highly of the staff there, and have enjoyed occasional meals at the onsite restaurant.
