She spent over 6 months at Sierra Charlie Aviation and because of their incompetence, lack of awareness and poor scheduling, I pulled my daughter out of their program and sent her to Scottsdale Executive Flight Training. She was paired up with her instructor Maddie Moles, whom I cant say enough good things about. Under Maddie's supervision and instruction, my daughter, Calie has far exceeded and excelled at this flight school. They keep you informed, aware of progress and have a plan in place to keep their students moving forward at all times. Not only was Maddie instrumental in Calie's progress, the Chief pilot and head of Cessna training, Nick Lane, went above and beyond to make sure Calie was ready to pass her check ride without issues. We got to know about it once we reached the airport. Anyways we had to reschedule and as per availability, got for 2 weeks later. My wife loved it and it was a nice experience overall. Not easy to handle Cessna's but worth the once-in-a-lifetime experience. The pilot who flew with my wife was nice and welcoming. He engaged in small talk and did not let my wife bore me during the flight by answering all the queries. His exercises and activities keep the kids moving, motivated and learning. They get to participate here more than any other studio class we've taken anywhere else. My kids were able to take 3 classes (that's a whole week of classes) to try it out before we owed our first payment. Which, I also think is better than any other studio in the area that we have tried. Come see for yourself and sign your kids up for a trial class. No contracts, just month to month billing. We just finished our first season with CFAZ and feel like I can give a candid review…read more My daughter spent years doing gymnastics through various community/req style programs. Then a year or so through a satellite location of a major valley gymnastics gym. I could tell she was bored, and frankly...she was not progressing. After some research, we decided to try cheer. We went into the season with the intention of joining a non-travel, but during evaluations, the Coaches asked if we would consider putting our daughter on a more competitive travel team and we went for it! If you are new to the world of All-Star cheer as we were...it's super overwhelming at first. There is a significant time and financial commitment from families, however it is pretty well laid out up front in the parent handbook. I've learned in connecting with other Cheer parents (across state lines and other gyms) that this is generally what is to be expected of the sport and not specifically a CFAZ thing. That all being said, reflecting on this last year, my only regret is that we hadn't discovered this program and enrolled our daughter sooner!!! She has LOVED every minute from the very first pre-eval clinic, to the time she finished her last season's performance. YES-- the physical gains from this year are evident. She has grown in all aspects of the sport- but the real value is in the intangibles. Cheer has taught her the importance of team (which as an only child carries a lot of weight with us), discipline, and most of all...it has unlocked a confidence that we hadn't seen before. She (as well as WE) have met some wonderful new friends and families along the way. She has had the opportunity to work with many of the coaches at the gym either from her team, classes or private lessons and they all bring their own unique qualities to the program. If there is one negative to mention its that there is definitely a learning curve for new families. I think many families start in a Prep team to learn the ropes-- so perhaps it was just us jumping right in, but I did wish there was maybe a "All Star Cheer 101" for new families. But even putting that aside, you eventually figure it out. Tips for any new families considering joining this crazy world of All-Star Cheer-- We highly recommend CFAZ!! Recognize that the program's priority is focused around the kids-- not parents. Trust in the process- the coaches will see more of your kids' progress and abilities than you will. Don't be afraid to ask the questions if you have them and find some good veteran families to help fill in those educational gaps along the way.

Fantastic parent/teacher communication. The owner and staff do an awesome job with the schedule and notifications- everything is laid out far in advance. The decision maker was the fact that anyone can walk into the studio at night, doors unlocked, no one at the desk. I waited an entire hour one night had the entire place to myself. Meanwhile the owner skated out the back door, purse on shoulder, leaving no one at the desk. If there were a true emergency, injury, unnoticed offender lurking in the girls restroom or upstairs? Wow! I can only hope the dancers would be ok. Not in this day and age would I ever trust my child with this director.
