My daughter recently asked me a question that every sports parent loves to hear: "Dad, where can I go to get better?" So, this summer, I signed her up for private softball lessons at D-BAT with Coach Jayme, and I honestly couldn't be happier with that decision. After just one lesson, my daughter's confidence skyrocketed. She was tracking the ball better, rotating her glove correctly, and finally beginning to understand the fundamentals of catching. In one session with Coach Jayme, she learned more than she had during an entire season of Little League. The biggest change, however, wasn't mechanical. It was her confidence. She enjoyed that first lesson so much that she begged me to sign her up for the week-long softball day camp. As the week went on, I watched her excitement for the game continue to grow. She wasn't just getting better--she was falling in love with softball. As for D-BAT itself, the facility has been excellent. The pro shop is well stocked with softball and baseball equipment, sunglasses, snacks, drinks, and even baseball cards. There are plenty of batting cages available for rentals, lessons, and camps, and everything has felt organized and welcoming every time we've visited. There are also bleachers and sitting areas for parents to watch. We're still new to the softball world, so I don't have years of experience comparing facilities. What I do know is this: My daughter asked where she could get better. We brought her to D-BAT. She left believing she could. As a parent, that's about the highest compliment I can give. Been coming here and very long time. Outside of some weird experiences you are getting what you pay for, a bunch of batting cages, well lit, and a place for lessons. The staff is generally kind and helpful and can answer any questions you may have. I am about the same distance between this dbats and the one in Peoria and prefer this location as they are more consistent. My only gripe is that they seem to always have atleast one or 2 machines down, this last time they had 3. I get it, they get a lot of use and they wear down, still annoying either way. I will continue to come back. I highly recommend a membership if you plan on going atleast once a week, it easily pays for itself. read more

My son has been coming here for years. Avondale location has the best teacher of all D-Bats throughout the country! Coach Valentin Martinez is his name. Not just my opinion, but the opinion of colleagues at D-Bat nationwide. Last year, he received an award for this! Let's put it this way: If he could teach my kid to catch, he could teach anybody. Coach Juan Herrera is also excellent. All the staff is amazing. Alexis, who works there and teaches softball, also found my work bag I left behind and called me regarding. Saved my ass! Nothing but good things to say about this location. Can't imagine a better D-Bat location for instruction. Period. read more

We have been members of DBats Avondale for years, paying $80 per month. However, the business has gone down dramatically over the past year and here are the issues I have observed. Once you step into the business, I have trouble trying to find where I am going. It's not hard to notice why, because when you look up, only half of the lights are working! But I am sure that's on purpose because the amount of dust and cobwebs on the ceiling and overhead A/C units have accumulated so much, you can build Frosty the Dustman in the middle of summer. Half of the cages are always down, including the one on the far south side of the building (which it feels like it has been down since the pandemic, but maybe I am exaggerating). The machines that do work have not been cleaned since gas prices were below $2.50 per gallon. The baseballs inside the machines have clearly not been inspected since several are coming apart, and can be dangerous at 70mph. It seems like owner and staff do not care, or have given up completely. This, in no way, should be a slight for the coaches that work and do lessons within DBats, as I am sure they are frustrated with these conditions as well. Since there are few options on baseball training out in the west side, I suppose we will have to deal with this business. However, some pride needs to be put into this place!!! read more

Well it seems every time we go to Dbats, the machines are not working right. I play slow pitch softball and when I ask for 12' arch with a backspin, the ball doesn't even get to the plate. So I don't really get much practice because I have to go tell the staff and they don't seem to be able to fix it. We live about 40 minutes away so it is a waste of time to go that far and not have the machines working. read more

Over all a great environment for my kids to practice. We participate in quite a few camps they put on throughout the year. My 9 year old always has fun and enjoys going. He has also done 1 on 1 with Coach Jay and Coach Luke. He has a blast every time he steps in the cage with them. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their skills or just get some BP in. read more

0/10 Do not recommend. Save your money! The machines pitch too high, too low or are always out of order. The customer service is trash. If you ever have a problem don't bother asking Hayden @ the front desk for help, he's useless and simply doesn't care. Definitely don't buy into their "monthly"membership. We did and knew the upcoming month we would be out of town and wouldn't be able to use it so we canceled the next month ahead of time. No one told us if you do that they cancel your membership on the day you cancel. Even though you've prepaid them for the whole month, they take your money and you are no longer allowed to use the facility that you paid for. They literally steal your money. When questioned they say, we "should've" told you before you signed the contract. What kind of business would be okay with that!? I've spent so much money here, don't make the same mistake. read more

Love this place! We come to Arizona so many times throughout the year for baseball tournaments and our team always picks D-Bat for BP. We've been to do many of them on AZ but this location is awesome! Clean as I'll get out which as a mom I totally love and respect. The staff was super friendly and helpful, so thank you for that. So many cages which makes it great for our team to spread out if needed. This location might be my favorite... so great job to the owners. read more

I've been to these batting cages a few times before COVID-19 and have not been back yet. It does lack some organization due to people not understanding the process and taking advantage of their times. Needs more structure...BUT it is a great facility. Not sure about other comments but it's better than other facilities. If there are better facilities on the west side, please let me know. Thanks read more

After waiting for over 30 minutes to use an open cage, our family left. It is unorganized. If you check in and pay to use the cages, you should be guaranteed a cage within 10 min of arriving. We would have rather been told, "it's going to be a long wait for an open cage" and then make the decision if we had time to wait. You should not require your patrons to have to ask around and work in with other large groups. If a bowling alley can offer that kind of customer service, so should a batting cage. There were also two cages out of order (with no sign of being fixed) and one cage that was baseball only (so softball patrons couldn't use 3 cages) while patrons lined up and waited to use the other cages. We paid $25, wasted 30 min of our day and left frustrated. read more

Horrible customer service. Called to cancel a membership and they avoided every question I asked and once I cancelled my membership they still charged me for another month and said it's part of the policy if you don't cancel on a certain date . Truly don't recommend this location . read more

Nice facility but some of the people that work there need to take customer service training.

This is the nicest d-bat i have been to. The pitching machines are a separate room from the other cages so they have a lot of batting cages. You pick your speed and pitch on a iPad infront of the cage and can even throw curveballs too!! Very nice facility I recommend it highly. read more

I've seen this place in its worse times and its best times but they still looked the same. Customer service was really bad. They didn't know how to handle multiple customers. The batting cages were horrid as well. They keep the same balls so much that one of the covers were coming off and the ball hit me in the leg! Then in another cage the machine wouldn't throw straight it would only throw 5 feet above the batter. All in all my experience was terrible NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! read more
