I am so excited. They have a home-school program during the day our girls attend. They just added a next level so the kids can move up. How awesome is that. Our girls now can enjoy growing and still enjoy the homeschooling early day time hours. Homeschooling or not, the girls are still welcome in all the classes. It is just the best time for our schedule, and less busy. This place never ceases to amaze me. My girls and I appreciate them so much. During the summer there is a competition team practicing at the same time as them. They are fantastic and so much fun to watch. read more

I canceled my toddler's enrollment the same day as her first class of the month, right after being charged $100. I was told there are no refunds or partial credits, even with immediate notice. I understand the need for policies, but this felt very rigid and disappointing -- especially for families with young kids who can change their minds quickly. Parents should know: once you're charged, there's no flexibility. Our near year here has otherwise been great. Definitely pricey especially for the toddler classes, but the coaches are great. read more

Disappointed and Disheartened Experience - Not Inclusive for Children with Speech Delays While the facility at Surprise Angels is clean and well-maintained, and the instructors initially seemed attentive, I feel it's important to share our experience so other parents especially those of children with speech delays so you can make an informed decision. I'm a 30-year-old African American mother, and my 5-year-old daughter, who has a speech delay but can follow directions attended two trial classes at the beginning of summer. During the first class, like many curious children experiencing something new, she wanted to explore and ran around a bit. I was told this wasn't safe, which I completely understood and I reassured the instructor that with time and routine, she would settle in. By the second class, my daughter had already adjusted and participated more appropriately. However, instead of allowing her space to grow, the instructor (Julie) held her hand the entire time. This not only restricted her ability to engage in the class properly but also gave the impression that they didn't trust her to follow directions on her own. A week later, I received a call informing me that my daughter could not return unless she joined the "Mommy and Me" class meant for 18-month to 3-year-olds. This felt like a huge slap in the face. My daughter is 5 years old, highly capable physically, and mentally and just needs a bit more patience due to her speech delay not a downgrade in developmental expectations. It was especially hurtful to be told that although it's "normal" for kids to run around on their first day, they simply couldn't accommodate my child. It left me questioning whether this was about her speech, her age or something deeper. To other parents of children with speech delays: please be aware that this facility may not be equipped or willing to support your child's needs, even when those needs are met with communication, progress, and patience. A speech delay does not equate to a lack of intelligence or ability, and it's disheartening that this was not recognized here. Inclusivity matters and unfortunately, our experience at Surprise Angels did not reflect that value. read more

NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY...We went to this gym for 3 years and 2.5 was spent on pre-team with the same girls. We are military and received orders to move this coming summer. I was told that because they have a waitlist for team and my daughter won't be here anyway, they were moving her to Level 2 rec changing the trajectory of her training. Our military kids already have to start over with so much when we move and to have it happen before thats even happened, has been pretty upsetting. My 7 year old daughter still gets upset and asks to see her friends/team mates all the time:( There was no reason she couldn't finish her time here with her team. read more

My son, niece, and nephew love coming here! It's all they talk about! They love showing off their new tricks and are always asking when they can see their coach and friends again! Coach Leah sure is great with handing my high energy nephew, who just wants to see how has he can do things. She keeps him engaged and on track with it come to following directions and doing things correctly. We love it here! read more

My daughter is trying out for High School Cheer and had no experience in Tumbling. We heard about a great gym in Surprise near our home that could help her learn a few things for her tryouts. Just within a few weeks, she has learned SO much and she has almost gotten her back hand spring by herself! I am so proud of her and I am SO grateful for the gym's wonderful coaches! Without the Surprise Angels' Coaches, she would never have advanced as much and as fast, as she has. If you are looking for a gym, either for your beginning tumbler, or your more advanced Gymnast, Surprise Angels is the place to be! Let me start off saying that when we first started, it seemed great. The longer we we there the more shady things we began to notice. They pack the gym with some many classes that the kids don't really have any room to practice. They tried to tell us that we were not allowed to stay and watch our children practice, but according to the USAG they are can not do that. There was a coach that would slap girls in the stomach so hard that they would cry. The team fees for the kids who compete they will not give you a real break down where all your money is going. My daughter and son got kicked out of their facility because I had an issue with a coach. They kept almost a 1000 dollars of my team fees and we didn't get anything from it. They refused to refund us as well. If you can take your child some where else. You will be glad you did. read more

Let me start off by saying that my daughter had a great time during the one class she took at Surprise Angels. The issue that I had is with the front desk and the owner. We had a special request of needing a copy of the coach's certification for private reasons. Prior to registering our daughter, I made sure to email them to ask if they'd be able to provide this to which I was given a yes. What we ended up receiving from Surprise Angels was a copy of the USAG membership confirmation, which doesn't mean diddly squat because anyone can pay for a membership. According to the owner, they would not provide this certification due to "privacy". The owner would not call me back or respond to my emails. Whomever was at the front desk even asked us to show them where we needed this information which I was happy to provide. We still did not get any type of communication from the owner, not even an acknowledgement that she had received our messages even though I specifically asked that the owner give us a call. We were even given the go ahead to have the owner black out any private information as long as the coach's name was visible. Needless to say, instead of responding to our emails, they went ahead and issued a refund. My guess is that the coach may not have had any type of certification whatsoever and instead of being told this information, I was ignored. Though the class was fun, and my daughter enjoyed it very much, I would not recommend this place to anyone for the lack of service given to us. read more

The gymnastics is okay. We had our daughter in for most of the year and she had fun. In the summer months the facility got very hot in the area the kids worked. We asked the owner about this issue and she didn't seem too concerned about it, and we were never told of any plans to make any improvements. After continued days of our daughter coming out sweating (though it was just the 4 year old class so nothing too strenuous) we thought it over and informed Surprise Angels that we'd stop for the month of August as it was too hot for her. We never received any reply and when we tried to attend the following month, we were told that her class had been filled up (her class only had 2 other students at the time we were going). We never received any phone call or email to inform us of this; our daughter had been excited to go so being sent away was upsetting for her. I understand that there is the need to have filled spots but by doing so without even trying to check in with us, or to let us know spots were filling, it shows that the facility mainly cares about the money/filling slots rather maintaining a relationship with the students and the parents. That was disappointing. Otherwise, staff was fine. read more

I really enjoyed this gym. I was referred by a friend and took both my children, (3yrs and 5yrs) They were both in the developmental class until my daughter turned 6 and moved up to the intro level. I loved that it wasn't just rolling around, even the youngest class was learning beginning skills that were obviously building on future higher level skills. The instructors really seem to care about the kids. The facility was clean and classes were affordable. I highly recommend this gym for anyone interested in gymnastics or just exposing your child to the sport. read more

My son has been coming here since he was 18 months old. We started in the Mommy and Me class and now that he's old enough he comes to the Tykes class. He is four years old now and I'm so impressed with how much he can do! His favorite things are walking on the high beam and swinging on the rings. He also loves coming to the open gyms because they have free time in the gym and it's a lot of fun. The coaches are awesome and have so much fun with the kids. My daughter and myself absolutely love this gym. She has been attending for about 5 years now. We started at the mommy & me classes and now she's on the 3IA competition team! She's gone through her fears of certain events, but all the coaches she's worked with over the years are caring, patient and kind. They push just enough, but know when to ease up right when the girls need it. I have never had any negative run ins with any of the staff and enjoy chit chatting with all of them. There is always a dedicated coach to each level, but it is SO amazing to see them rotate additional coaches through each team to help out where it's needed. My daughter is even able to stay connected with her coach that had to love out of state recently which is amazing. The coaches become parent like and care about your child as if they were their own. This has been our first and only gym we have ever been at and I don't foresee us leaving anytime soon. read more

A great place if your child is participating in recreational gymnastics. It is a different story if your child is in their competitive gymnastics program. The owner of the gym tends to make last minutes changes and rules. For example my grandchild was told in a team meeting yesterday that although some children have qualified for their state level meet the entire team will miss out. The owner's explanation, because not all of the team girls have qualified for the state level meet. It was an absolute slap in the face to many parents and children. Parents and grandparents beware. If you are considering moving your competitive gymnast to Surprise Angels. Proceed with caution before you invest a small fortune in a program: - that has an everyone wins mentality - an over extended coaching staff - excessive crowding in the gym - will hold your child back if other gymnasts do not have their skills read more
