My 5 year old son recently completed one semester (8 lessons) with Taydem. He is naturally more reserved and slow to warm up to new people. He started with very little swim skills and had always been a bit fearful of the water. Taydem made him feel super comfortable and he looked forward to lessons with her each day. She was always very friendly and professional while also making the lessons fun for him! The techniques she used were easy for him to catch on to and remember. I am very pleased to say his safety and comfortability in the water improved greatly over the course of his lessons! We will be doing another semester this summer just to allow him more time to build upon the skills he has learned. We had an incredible experience with Kidtastics, specifically our instructor Tori Fraga. We decided to commit to two weeks of 1:1 swim lessons at our home for 2 weeks, (8 lessons, 30 mins each), because despite almost 2 years of weekly group swim lessons at local swim schools, I wasn't confident my 5-year old was truly water safe. I worried about her overconfidence in the pool (thinking she could swim because of the lessons), yet not knowing how to get herself to the side of the pool and out, or swimming without assistance safely. The local swim schools seemed to focus on specific skills like floating on her back and wouldn't target other skills without her doing this, despite her having ear issues that made this very uncomfortable. At the end of the day, that wasn't going to keep her from drowning and I wanted her to be water safe, then start learning strokes. Tori listened to our experience and goals for Michaela and exceeded our expectations. By the end of two weeks, Michaela was not only completely water safe (able to swim to the side of the pool and get out without assistance), but also learned freestyle, backstroke and butterfly, two types of dives and able to dive for items at the bottom of the pool without issue. After the lessons concluded, Michaela swam in our pool for 45 mins with zero support and even practiced strokes and dives. This level of skill would have taken years of weekly lessons and much more money spent in a swim school. This was absolutely worth the investment and daily time commitment for two weeks. Michaela and our whole family adores Tori; her enthusiasm for swimming and teaching was palpable. She built a lasting relationship, connection and impact on Michaela, beyond just advancing her swimming skills. Thank you, Kidtastics and Tori!! We've used the Kidtastics folks to teach each of our grandkids to swim going back 13 years. Our grandsons now 12 and 16 are both excellent swimmers and our other two grand kiddos 3 and 5 had there first week of lessons last week. Coach Rob had his hands full with the little ones who had to overcome fear and reluctance. Rob's patience and fun approach worked wonders and after 5 half hour sessions the 5 year old was happily going under, coming up to grab a breath and swimming half way across the pool. The 3 year old was going under and swimming up to the surface on his own and is now well on his was to being pool safe. I had the privilege of interacting with Dave and Ashly of the Kidtastics staff. Both interactions were extremely satisfactory and I give 5 stars from the start to the end. I signed up my 4 year old to their 8 lessons (2 weeks) at-home private lesson. Dave was very responsive via email to my inquiry and I was able to get my daughter lessons that same week! The online application allowed me to share with the team my child's unique needs. Ashly, the swim instructor, was very attentive to those needs and I wholeheartedly believe this resulted in my child having a very positive experience! Ashly was very professional, consistent, reliable, patient, reassuring, and made sure my daughter felt safe throughout it all. My daughter was taught to get familiar with the pool (we just moved in) and all about pool safety. She was also rewarded at the end of each lesson, which for a kid is very motivating! As a parent I was also supported by Ashly, she shared with me water safety techniques to keep practicing with my child, and gifted us a safety whistle. My daughter's lessons ended yesterday and today she sang all the songs she learned with Ashly and showed great confidence in the pool. We are 3 weeks in to swim lessons with Laurie. I selected Kidtastics after a couple of negative experiences with group lessons that really set my 4 year old back and created a fear of water, especially regarding submersion and getting his face wet. Laurie has a lot of experience working with kids that have a fear of the water and swimming. I could tell immediately after the first lesson that this would be entirely different. She made a point to remember his favorite things and forged an instant connection with floating car tracks and racing cars along the first step of her home pool. By day 3, he was going under. Now, by week 3 he is going under the water many times per lesson and is actually asking to go under the water. He is so confident and proud of himself. This has been worth every penny spent. I am so happy with his progress and so impressed with Laurie! I cannot recommend enough. read more

We have used Kidtastics for three summers and have had great outcomes each year. Our children have gone from crying and not wanting to get into the pool, to swimming and diving to the bottom (ages 5 and 6). Our baby, 21 months old, cried at first but our instructor was so great at making it fun that he loves to get in the pool now. He learned to blow bubbles, go underwater, back float and get out of the pool after just a couple of lessons. We have also used Kidtastics to lifeguard a pool party and he was wonderful. read more

What an amazing experience! My 3.5 and 5.5 year olds could not swim on their own at all. After one session, my 5.5 year old could swim all on his own and is so confident. After a second session he is doing amazing at freestyle and breast stroke. My 3.5 year old was so fearful before beginning and can now swim to and from me to the steps and can float on her back and flip over. I feel so much safer around pools now. We used Kidtastics to teach our kids to swim last summer (ages 2 and 4) and by the end of the first week they were competent in the pool. By the end of the second week I felt comfortable not having to get in the pool with them when they wanted to swim! We did a refresher "semester" again this year at the beginning of the summer and my kids (now 3 and 5) are so comfortable and capable in the pool. I am SO glad we gave up the weekly lessons for the 2 week daily program Kidtastics does. It got them pool safe so much faster, less costly (when you factor in how many lessons we spent on months of weekly lessons) and it was so much fun for them! I recently threw a swim party and decided that I wanted a lifeguard to keep the kids safe. My guard showed up on time, wearing his lifeguard gear. He also had a rescue flotation. Oh, we was in his late teens, but was very polite, professional, & respectful. He made his way out to the pool. I filled him in on my concerns etc and then he took his place in a chair at the edge of the pool. He stayed there the three hours, interacting with the kids. It ended up being a pretty calm party so nothing crazy was needed, but having him there was a great peace of mind. read more

A friend of ours referred us to Laurie at Kidtastics. Our son was about 1.5 and eager to get into the pool and we wanted to ensure he was taking swim lessons to get comfortable with the water and worked on key skills. Laurie and the team at Kidtastics are great - they are knowledgeable, patient, very instructive, fun, and take a genuine interest in your child. Over the past year, there have been two or three times when my son was having "a bad day" and was unwilling to go into the pool or swim during our scheduled lesson. Laurie really tried to get our son calmed down, worked with him to try and go swim, and if he wasn't up for it she'd reschedule the lesson for us at no charge. Our son is now almost three and has made great strides - he has developed great skills, really loves the water, and has learned many basic safety skills (always counting before jumping in, not swimming without an adult, turning and swimming back to the wall if he jumps in, etc.). Obviously he still must be monitored at all times but it's nice to know that he's learning the importance of certain techniques around the pool. Kidtastics also does gym programs and other activities - both at community centers and schools. I would definitely recommend Laurie and the Kidtastics team to anyone interested in swim lessons for their kids, activity programs for their community, or activity-based parties for kids. read more

A FANTASTIC business run by fantastic people. Our son, who is developmentally delayed, began taking gymnastics at his school last year. The instructors are kind and patient, but importantly, have rules that the kids need to follow. The environment was structured, fun and creative. It was amazing to watch the progress the kids in class made. Gymnastics went so well that we signed up for private swim lessons at our home this past summer. Again, amazing. In a few short weeks, our son went from very little pool skills to swimming by himself, diving, and kick-boarding. We are so thankful for finding Kidtastics!!! Our 4 yr old daughter has had tremendous results under Laurie's swimming instruction! She has had a fear of water, and Laurie has spent the last two summers getting her comfortable with the water, gain basic skills, and learn important water safety. This week, she has had her "breakthrough" and is now eager to get in the pool and show everyone what she can do! She is diving underwater, jumping in, working on stroke development, holding her breath underwater, and flipping over on her back. We are absolutely amazed! We had our lessons held at our home privately, which was wonderful and very convenient. I do know they also provide classes at community centers in developments around the valley. They also have dance, cheer, and gymnastics lessons at schools and we're certainly looking to add them to our daughter's lineup of activities in the Fall. Will was our lifeguard and he was very nice! Our party was at a community pool and there were more kids there than expected (kids not with our party). He took it all in stride. It was such a relief to not have to worry about watching everyone else's kids around the pool and we were really able to just enjoy our party knowing everyone was safe! I absolutely love this company! Laurie and her swim instructors are amazing. We originally hired them for private swim lessons with our neighbor, 45 minutes for two weeks. My 3 year old son LOVES Mr. Juan!!! My son immediately went right to him, honestly I was hesitant at first because a male instructor and they tell you to not be outside with them because it's distracting, my son did amazing and Juan was so professional! My son was a champ by the end of the two weeks and was so much further advanced than the 2 years we did 1xweek swim lessons. We have just hired Juan again for another two week session because he went from just jumping to dad to full on swimming in two weeks so this last session is to perfect the breathing and swim strokes. My 3 year-old son took the Kidtastics gymnastic classes and really liked them, so I signed him up for the 2 week- intensive swim lessons over the summer. At the beginning of the 2 week period, my son couldn't swim at all -- he hated to get his face wet and didn't want to go under water. By the time Laurie got through with him he was swimming the width of the pool under water, floating on his back by himself, retrieving rings from the bottom of the pool (assisted) and loving swimming like he never had before. I can't say enough good things about Miss Molly and Kidtastics! My kids are three and five, and they are SWIMMING! We actually live in San Diego, but were visiting grandma in Scottsdale. Miss Molly and Laurie were very accommodating and were able to fit us into their schedule during our visit. The techniques Miss Molly used were EXCELLENT and focused on safety in the water. She was also incredibly patient, and kept the lessons fun. And after just six lessons, Miss Molly was able to accomplish what the Y was unable to do after months and months of lessons!
