We scheduled private lessons with Heidi, which she conducted at our apartment building's pool. Our daughter is only 17 months old, and we were very nervous about the lessons, but Heidi took the time to talk to us and explain what she would be doing before each lesson. She also taught my wife and I how to reinforce what she had been teaching our daughter between classes. This helped us understand the importance of what she was doing and helped put our concerns at ease. As instructed by Heidi, we only watched the last 5 minutes of the first several classes. It was difficult not to be there, but very rewarding to see the progress our daughter made. On our fourth class we joined Heidi and our daughter for nearly the entire session. I cannot express how amazed I was at how well my daughter was doing, and how much she was enjoying herself. She was diving to the bottom of the pool with Heidi's assistance and picking up toys. This was initially scary for me, but as soon as my daughter came up she stared laughing, and took the toy and threw it back into the water for another go. I knew we had made the right chose in hiring Kidtastics. It may seem hard to believe, but I can tell that my 17th month old has gained a sense of pride and self worth from the classes. Whenever we watch or join in on the swim classes my daughter has the biggest sense of pride, and is so proud to show off what she has learned. The only problem we have now is the other parents who go to the pool with their kids; they are constantly trying to recruit Kidtastics, coach Heidi, to teach their kids during our daughter's class time. My twin toddler boys just finished their first-ever swim lesson session with Miss Laurie, and I am very pleased with the experience! Laurie went out of her way to make accommodations for our group when needed, beyond what I ever expected. The first time my sons got into the pool with her, I immediately felt safe. She is incredibly knowledgeable, confident, and thorough when it comes to water safety, technique, and navigating all the toddler quirks/challenges. Her consistency in teaching style allowed my sons to quickly learn their cues (for example, "up and under"), therefore showing them what to expect ahead of time, making them much more comfortable with being in and under the water. Not only did my sons gain confidence and new skillsets, now I feel confident enough to continue to work on their exercises and technique at home over the summer in our pool. It was only a few weeks ago that I felt helpless and overwhelmed by the daunting task of finding how to start teaching my kids how to swim. Kidtastics was recommended to me by both a neighborhood mom group and my pediatrician. I would highly recommend Kidtastics on-site, private swimming lessons. I used them for the first time this summer for my 7 and 4 year old. Prior to contacting Laurie, we had taken our two children to the city public classes. While they do the best they can with the various children they teach, there is no comparison to getting one-on-one attention in the comfort of your own pool. Within days, Laurie was able to get my son who did not know how to swim and would not leave the comfort of the baja step without hanging on for dear life to diving in to the pool and swimming from one end of the pool to the other. It was an amazing experience to see the transformation within such a quick time frame. My daughter already knew how to swim but Laurie took what she knew and helped her perfect her technique and learn several other forms as well. It really helped her build her confidence. Laurie is very patient, knowledgeable and made it fun for both kids to learn. Next year we will be adding our 18 month daughter to the roster and I cannot wait to see how she progresses. I will hire Kidtastics lifeguard services again. Having Jacob as our lifeguard made the party enjoyable for me, my husband and children. My son who is turning 6 asked for a swim party. I was glad to accommodate, but had one deep concern, allowing 15-20 children of varying ages and swim levels in our family pool. I wanted all the family members to have fun, but knew that what often happens is every parent is focused on watching their child and doesn't get a chance to interact, eat or even get up to use the restroom, leading to a less than fun party experience. Plus, personally I worry so much about someone getting hurt that often my husband and I alternate lifeguard duty just to be safe, leaving us less time to enjoy the celebration. with Kidtastic's Jacob on life guard duty, I was in the pool having fun, my husband got to socialize, other parents were able to eat, laugh, look away for a moment and trust that their child was safe. My children have been involved with Kidtastics in both swimming and gymnastics for several years now. We have worked with great teachers like Amber and Nikki. I couldn't be more pleased with how great they have been with our three boys. I was very impressed in how safety was the number one priority regarding the swim instructions. All three of boys are now swimming with confidence, and I feel so much more comfortable with them around the water. All of the instructors have been gentle and caring, and my boys absolutely love all of them. They look forward to their time spent with Kidtastics. On a more personal level, one of my sons has trouble with low tone and Nikki went out of her way to research exercises she could do with him both in the pool and on the mats to help him. His physical therapist was amazed at how much he improved in a very short time. I am so grateful. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Fantastic Swim Lessons! I loved working with this company on a recent vacation to Scottsdale. They had an accelerated training program and were happy to come to my hotel pool each day to work with my sons - giving me more time to relax. The comapny was very easy to work with right from the start, filled out my info online and set up appts all very quickly. I love the fact that you can do a 2-week accelerated lesson. Unfortunately we did not have time this trip. The 4-day program was great. When Heidi the instructor arrived one of my 4-year old twins did not want to swim. She immediately enaged with him and he was off in the water swimming and mommy and daddy disappeared. In the 45-minute lesson my 2-children were able to noticeably progress and we could practice the day's lesson on our own. Our 2 1/2 year old son is on his second swim session with Laurie and he is doing amazing! He started off afraid of the water, he is now in the first week of his second session and is swimming underwater, he goes under water to get rings, he jumps in the pool and turns on his back, he is able to get out of the pool on his own and is comfortable in the water. She has also taught him safety rules like he needs to sit on the edge of the pool until an adult is in the water and he respect that with everyone. Laurie is great at making my son feel secure and she goes a great job cheering him on. There has been time when my son got scared because he drank too much water and Laurie acknowledge his fear in a way that he knew she understood but was ready to keep trying. We are amazed with his progress and truly believe Laurie is amazing. read more

My 5 year old son recently completed one semester (8 lessons) with Taydem. He is naturally more reserved and slow to warm up to new people. He started with very little swim skills and had always been a bit fearful of the water. Taydem made him feel super comfortable and he looked forward to lessons with her each day. She was always very friendly and professional while also making the lessons fun for him! The techniques she used were easy for him to catch on to and remember. I am very pleased to say his safety and comfortability in the water improved greatly over the course of his lessons! We will be doing another semester this summer just to allow him more time to build upon the skills he has learned. We have used Kidtastics for almost 6 years. My daughters started at 1 year old and each summer they improve significantly. My oldest is a strong swimmer but she literally begs me to enroll her in lessons every summer because she learns a new skill, has the best time, and enjoys Laurie and Ashly very much. Each lesson is unique to my daughter's personality and skill set. It's pretty special to see their confidence shine in the pool and also how it affects their self-esteem. The price is worth it! They do their best to accommodate time which is everything to Mom's life and the kid's nap schedule. We have tried AquaTots and Hubbard in the past but nothing comes even close to their instructor skill set and how they challenge my girls to master water safety. read more

Laurie has worked with our 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter over the last two summers and has done an absolutely fantastic job.
