My son and I made it back from the SF Bay Area to the wonderful D'Argenzio Enoteca in December. There was a special 3 night event/Open House for the Randy Rhoads' Birthday Celebration so we were honored to be able to attend. Kathy and Richard, and their lovely family and staff are the most gracious hosts. We felt right at home, as we did during our first visit over the summer. I've not a wine connoisseur in any way but I do enjoy the Randy Rhoads cabernet. Wished I could have imbibed more but I was driving. It's very tasty and smooth. There were food trucks present every night as it was a special event. We ate from one of them one night and it was delicious. The other two nights, we had the homemade flat bread pizzas that the kitchen staff made which were not only very yummy but perfect for the wine and the evening. They were also serving beer and soda and had complimentary cold water for the non-wine drinkers like my son. But the very best thing is the about D'Argenzio Enoteca is the ambiance, atmosphere and spirit. The staff and the other clientele feel like long lost friends. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It's like being in someone's living room, a very personal experience. Richard and Kathy, as busy as they were during a very hectic event, always took time to check on us and others, making sure we were having a good time and had everything we needed. We were celebrating the life of Kathy's brother, Randy, an amazing guitarist, who tragically passed in 1982 which was very special and humbling in and of itself but the night took on a very magical energy. I don't mean to sound cliche but you could really feel the love in the room. And yes, this was a special weekend dedicated to Randy but our first took place just on a regular wine-down Thursday. We felt just as good being there on a "normal" night. If I lived in the area, I would be there frequently with girlfriends or family, just for a nice, chill night out with a glass of wine, some cheese and crackers, good conversation, and some great live music. The Randy Rhoads events are amazing and we will be back for sure, but I would highly suggest giving D'Argenzio Enoteca a try anytime. read more

This is a hidden gem of Burbank. There are very few places to sit and enjoy a decent wine tasting in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. The ambience is adorable. The staff is sweet, informative and welcoming. Most importantly, the D'Argenzio wine is delicious. It's a Santa Rosa winery with a tasting room in Burbank and the wine is different but amazing. On top of that, the prices are perfect. On my first visit, we met the owners and they were so sweet and came up and introduced themselves and gave us a little history in the wine and the family. My husband and I love their Zinfandel and Rose. The wine tasting room also includes a room in the back where they host music and stand up comics. They serve homemade pizzas and Italian appetizers. It's such a great hang. Their winery is in Sonoma County. And, the owners are the sister and brother in law of metal guitar god, Randy Rhodes. Metalheads must make a pilgrimage here. read more

Loved the place.!Ray of the Santa Rosa Winery location, is twins with the owner here in Burbank. The staff was terrific. I just dropped in with a friend to pick up my wine club shipment instead of waiting for my next trip to Santa Rosa and ended up staying for hours; dinner ( ordered in from a nearby restaurant at their suggestion because it wasn't a night they had a wine down event!!) and the delightful guitar music they had that night! I had the pleasant experience of dining with some friends while attending the "Paint Nite" event being hosted here. I've live in the valley for over 20 years and have passed by this very streets thousands of times, but never really realized this was a restaurant/wine tasting place. It's a very small and humble restaurant. The storefront has a few tables and a small bar to sit and drink. They have a menu with some small finger foods that pair well with their different wines. The owner was super friendly and gave us the background of the different wines they were offering for the wine tasting. Each had its own personality. It was great! After our tasting we proceeded to the back room where the painting would commence. Overall the experience was wonderful. We had a fun night. Everything was reasonably priced. I would definitely come again. There's not parking lot so you'll need to find street parking. read more

We came in around 8pm on a Friday and asked if we could bring our baby in with us. It wasn't too crowded and they were very nice and said yes. We did the red/white tasting and it was very good. I would recommend anyone who likes wine to try this place. read more

They took my credit card when I got there to open a tab (for a $10 pizza) but never brought a bill or gave my credit card back even though I was almost the last one to leave the event. I am NOT impressed. Now I have to drive back to the restaurant when it opens to get my credit card!! If a restaurant is incapable of returning people's credit cards before they leave, they should not be taking people's credit cards at all. read more

This is a lovely wine bar restaurant. It is a tiny place but it is very cozy and comfortable. The food is really excellent and the wine is wonderful. The wine is from a winery in California. This place is actually the tasting room of that winery. This is a wine tasting room essentially so there are no cocktails. The pizza is excellent I highly recommend it. They also have small dining room where occasionally they have live performances of singers and bands. It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it! read more

I'm used to wineries in Napa and in Temecula. That being said, one of my girlfriends was having a bachelorette party and wanted wineries. We stopped at this one and were the only ones on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The girl behind the counter was nice, knowledgeable, and very generous with the pours. We were so tired and a little buzzed from other wineries we had visited earlier, but it seemed like it was a pretty mellow place to come. The girl stated that they normally get busier at night and that the crowd is pretty lively. It's one of the few places in Burbank that you can actually taste wine or have a glass of something nice (D'Argenzio wines only), have some quiet conversation, and even enjoy a cheese plate! Have wanted to check out this little nugget for some time since it is in my 'hood. The Randy Rhoads' Birthday Celebration seemed like a great opportunity to do just that and I was not disappointed! My friends and I went on the first night of the festivities and had a wonderful time. The wine is fantastic! I am a lover of deep reds, but even my friend who is not impressed with reds (opts for white wines primarily) loved the Randy Rhoads 2005 Cab. It is a fantastic wine. Went here on a whim and it payed off. This was great little place to get a wine tasting fix in the middle of Burbank. The wines We tasted where not the best or the types of wines I usually like but the Chardonnay they had was really good. They also had a cupcake tasting going on at the same time with wine pairing but I am supposed to be on a diet so I passed but the girls next to us seems to enjoy it a lot. I accidentally stumbled upon this place on a Saturday night - it felt like heavy metal hair night but I thought this was pretty cool. My husband and I were able to sample a few whites before deciding on a glass, and decided to head back and enjoy the rock music. I enjoyed the Moscato and bruschetta while rocking out to the awesome musicians. I personally enjoyed the atmosphere as this was not usual for a wine bar. The D'Argenzio Enoteca Tasting Room offers an inviting, artisan atmosphere while providing some of the best boutique wines that hail from Sonoma County. Thursday night happy hour is a must see event: from the weekly food truck or catering to the live music to the interesting and down to earth people you meet. The quality of service is top notch. D'Argenzio wines are one of my favorite winemakers and while all of the wines are solid, my favorite has to be their Zinfadel. The D'Argenzio Enoteca Tasting Room is one of Burbank's treasures. This place is top notch for atmosphere. They're a local extension of a vineyard run, if I got this right, by the owner's brother, and they also serve classy food. Great place for a date night or to catch up with friends over some wine. The red wines were really tasty; I ended up with the Barbera. This place has a low key atmosphere! Met the owner and his wife. They walked around and chatted with us. Their pizza is AMAZING. We got the sausage and pesto for $12 and it's plenty for 2: their apps are $6 and perfect too. They have wine flights for $10 and you get generous pours. I recently went to a private wine tasting event here, and it was fantastic. This was for a non profit I'm involved in, and was a charity event. The wine is made in Sonoma County (Russian River) and they have some awesome wines - Pinot Noir, Zin, Cabernet, and great Chardonnay. This place, D'Argenzio, is our own little world where our pasts and walks of life don't matter, might as well not even exist. When you first set foot in D'Argenzio Winery and Cabinet shop, its a bit overwhelming. More people than you would expect all hanging about in a small front parlor and larger back room. A moment passes and suddenly it feels like coming home. There are no strangers here, merely old friends whose names and faces you've forgotten. That's alright though as they are all more than happy to remind you, so long as you return the favor. The décor speaks of old-world Tuscany, but the view out the windows is all urban Southern California - the juxtaposition doesn't reduce the feelings of comfort and community though, if anything it enhances them. In the back room, softly lit by candles and strings of white lights, long wooden tables filled with former strangers enjoy guitar music played by a single artist. This may be a place of business, but it is also a beating heart, a home filled with family. A community coming together in its simplest form.
