Eventually opening up to welcome even more as an all-inclusive open to all large club that puts on a variety of events with huge venue space, lavish full bar, greenroom, wreckroom, stage, parking lot, the list goes on. The Mayflower Club is a Non-Profit British-American Social Club in North Hollywood California. It's slightly tucked away across from the Victory Vineland Park and Recreation Center on the intersection of the same name (Victor Blvd/Vineland Ave). My friend Adam has his 50th Film inspired birthday here recently and Gina, Terrel and Dave were nothing short of amazing in helping us get set up the day before as well as helping keep the flow with Liane + Doug (our bartenders for the night of). Mayflower Club has tons of tables, chairs and even some booth space. A few rules to keep things preserved, clear and safe while enjoying yourself. The form to request and event is pretty detailed and the communication is stellar. It was so amazing to see all Adam's and the M.C. work come together for an magical event. Gina our doorperson for a large of the night dressed up as Mia Wallace!! Pulp Fiction realness! Terrel was really kind and subbed in for her and made sure everything was going okay while Dave was tech support via lights and sound. We had two local friends and drag queens perform for us throughout the night Miss Shell Shock (of The Bullet Bar's twice a month weekday drag show) aka Volta Charge and the Official Lil Blu Pill herself Vi'Agra - great music queues via Dave and that spotlight did it's thing. First, there is parking at the building but it's easy to miss because of traffic but it's a quick enterance and then down a steep tight hill into the lot. Valet is there but I found a self parking spot. For the event our parking was validated which made the parking only $8 which was a relief since parking around the area can be quite pricey! Inside the room all the tables are intimately set up according to how many people were on the reservation, and the room is surrounded by windows where you can see the amazing LA view. I love that according to what you're going to eat you get a color coded candle. Meat is red candle, Fish is blue, and vegetarian is green. When it is time to go dark they announce and you blind fold yourself with a blindfold that you get to keep at the end! There are 3 courses and I will not ruin it by telling you what I ate so you can be surprised. After each course the chef comes in and he tells you what the food was. I honestly expected that because my sight was gone that I would be hyper aware but somehow I guessed wrong about some of the ingredients! It was such a cool experience and the dessert was so good I wanted more. Dining in the dark was such a wonderful experience. If you need date ideas this would be a really great date idea! After the dinner was over, I explored the 51sr floor a little before heading to the elevator and it's really beautiful up there. They have a plethora of work out classes ranging from beginner ballet, sound baths, yoga, Pilates, dance etc. I have been slowly working my way through the different classes to try them all. They also have "circles" which are group meetings. These circles cover things from trauma, hormonal changes, to writing and art classes. I have tried a couple of circles, which has been nice to just be in the community and talk/get to know one another. Lastly they do mixers here-n-there and other events. I have yet to try a mixer, but I am sure I will at some point. The circle is really for everyone and every age ... I will say it does lean towards more 40 and up though. I'd love to have some more younger members join! If you're looking for community, this is definitely the place!
