    Salmon entree

The place is beautiful, but really horrible service and the return on investment on the food is really not there. Paid close to $50 for a tiny piece of salmon and they couldn't even tell me if it was farm raised or wild cut. The salmon did not come with any sides nor any was offered when I ordered it. You need to get a DJ in here on Thursday or Friday nights and make it a thing. The place was dead heavily discount membership for girls and do some marketing to get people to come improve the training of the service staff and at least give some damn sides with the salmon.

Beautiful space, delicious food, wonderful service! With sushi, pasta, pizza, and traditional entrées all on the menu, Gravitas might seem unfocused at first glance--but everything we tried was surprisingly well-executed and absolutely delicious. The major standouts were the Spicy Tuna Roll and cheesecake! The ambiance exudes a sexy, upscale vibe with an air of exclusivity. Gravitas is a spot that feels both indulgent and memorable. Definitely worth a visit.

Perfect martini with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives.

When I heard a restaurant was opening at the base of our building, dreams of martini lunches danced in my head. Sadly, those dreams fizzled when I found out it was going to be a private "members only" club. We'll lucky for me, my boss got a trial membership and my wish for a martini lunch came true! Designed by Kelly Architects, Gravitas is stunningly beautiful! Co-Founder Brandon Steven put a lot of thought into making his grandiose vision a reality. This 28,000 sq ft multi-level establishment has three bars (the main bar has a retractable roof), private dining booths, a media room, and even a poker room. Temperature controlled wine lockers, a recording studio, and a private chauffeur service are just some of the benefits that come with being a member of this exclusive club. The customer service here is superb. Everyone I encountered was friendly & attentive. We sat at the main bar, which is quite large. I happily sipped my perfect martini with blue cheese olives while soaking in the luxurious ambience. We shared the Oysters on the Half Shell and Shishito Peppers, even though I wanted Caviar Service ($150 an oz). The Oysters were large, plump, and tasted so fresh. The Shishito Peppers were roasted and tossed in lemon, tamari soy sauce, bottarga, & sea salt. They were tasty & addictive. I just popped one right after another in my mouth. Everything was so fantastic! We had another round, which allowed me to convince my boss to sign up for a membership so now my dreams of martini lunches will now be a reality. Next time we come back he's treating me to Caviar Service. *Membership: $2,500 Initiation with $5,500 annual dues.

Tiramisu, cheesecake, and apple tartin. All delicious, but the tiramisu was the winner for me.

The space is huge and well decorated and designed. The service here is great. They're very attentive and professional. They will make sure to give you a refill as soon as you finish your drink. They remember your drink orders very well. I was very impressed. The sushi is incredible - I highly recommend it! It's a standout dish (appetizer). The salmon is great - it is so tender. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The polenta was great and the fries were yummy. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, cheesecake, and apple tartin. They were all delicious, but the tiramisu was the clear winner for me. A friend said that it tasted like a European recipe. The cheesecake was SO light and not too sweet. The bathrooms are unique - each stall is an individually locked door with a sign indicating for men or women and then there are communal sinks that are accesible for everyone. It really opens the door to the opportunity for men and women to network or "bump into each other" in the bathroom. We had a great experience here. And the valet parking has a daily max of $32.

We had a great experience at Gravitas. The food was very fresh and authentic. It's a nice place to hangout with friends and grab a bite to eat. Highly recommend that people join the club if you enjoy spending time with your friends and family.

Very professional and friendly. I had emailed over a list of music to play throughout the night as a guideline and she stuck to it but also had remixed versions of some of my favorites which made it more fun. Throughout the night she remained professional (in the past I'd witness DJs at events act like fools near the end of the night. not good.) and pleasant to my guests. All my guests commented on how fab the music was, it definitely added to my event. I also had Nguyen along with Tessa deejay a corporate holiday event. Again, arrived on time and remained professional throughout the night. They were able to read the crowd (ages ranged from 30-60 yrs of age!) and kept the dance floor going - everyone happy and having fun. Tessa was also a great emcee when needed - she spoke clearly and projected! From set up to breakdown - they were fantastic! I highly recommend Blackbook Social Club for all your party/event needs!!

Having just recently completed a master's degree at UCLA, I continually found myself thinking that the growth I've achieved from my 2 hour-per-week commitment to my club far exceeded my feelings of accomplishment at the more formal institution of learning. I first showed up at Club 21 because I suffer from what sometimes feels like a crippling fear of speaking. Prior to joining Club 21, I HATED public speaking, and my feelings of anxiety extended to other forms of formal speaking as well- such as conducting myself in interviews and meetings. While I can't say that my speaking-phobia has disappeared, my feelings at the lectern have become more nuanced; rather than experiencing pure terror, I now feel a mix of fear and sheer exhilaration at the opportunity to address a room of attentive listeners. It is such an incredible feeling- I often drive away from meetings feeling more confident and empowered than I ever had before. The club members are quite an interesting mix of people. There are folks of all ages and from many walks of life, but they all share one common characteristic- everyone is incredibly supportive. If you decide to attend a meeting, your hands will get a workout; we do a hell of a lot of clapping. Not only that, but the Toastmasters program offers countless opportunities for evaluation and feedback. After presenting a speech, you will receive a formal spoken evaluation, a written evaluation, and feedback cards from most members of the club... not to mention a lot of pats on the back. I really can't emphasize enough how wonderful this club is. I think the Toastmasters program in general is pretty fantastic, but I like to think that our club is exceptionally special, as well. But the only way for you to discover that is to come check it out for yourself. So please do: Tuesdays at 7PM at Delores Bakery and Cafe in West LA/Santa Monica. I look forward to seeing you there!

If you DO ever decide to sign up (like $60+ bucks for a t-shirt, be assigned a team & meet cool people for about 10+ games), sign up for a team with a group or at least a couple of people YOU ALREADY KNOW & HANG WITH...... it's kind of "clickish", in a Dungeons & Dragons way. My girlfriend and I were looking to find a league to meet some people and have some fun. What we…read morefound instead is a system built entirely around greed and profit at the expense of its customers. There is nothing that these guys do that is in the interest of their members and everything is for stuffing as much money in their pockets while they laugh at the idiots (myself included) that join their leagues. First and biggest problem, there is a minimum of TWENTY-SIX PEOPLE ON A TEAM!!! Let me reiterate, TWENTY-SIX. When I asked at the beginning of the season why there were so many people on a team, their response was "because people tend to quit or not show up". How right she was. You know why they quit and don't show up? Because there are 26 people on the team and you spend more time watching than playing! Lets do some math. The games are five innings. There are three outs in an inning, which means there are 15 outs per team in a game. There are 26 people on a team. That means, it is possible for 11 people on your team to not even get to bat once in a game! And to ensure that everyone gets an at bat, you need to get a minimum of 10 hits in a 5 inning game. I NEVER once got more than one at bat. The league cost $70 and I got a total of 7 at bats for a cost of $10 per at bat. Ridiculous. The league makes $1,820 per team so they hire the best referees possible. You know who those refs are? YOU! Thats right, you get to pay money to play in a league where YOU have to work! And if you don't want to ref, your team has to forfeit games. This leads to wonderful things. People who are being forced to referee games that don't have even a basic understanding of the rules. Referees making calls that are biased and favorable to their team. And even worse, people extracting revenge on teams that either beat them, or made bad calls against them when they get to ref their games. But the greed and fun don't stop there! How can you make more money from one field? Waka figured it out! Put TWO games on the same fiend at the same time! Genius! So, one game would be going on on an actual baseball field (you know with crazy things like bases and foul lines?) and the other game would be played at the exact same time in the OUTFIELD! The two games proceed simultaneously with the games kick at each other which results in balls flying into your game while you're playing which is not only stupid and annoying, but dangerous. The outfield games had bases that were placed arbitrarily and turned into an absolute mud pit by the end of the season. I am ashamed to say that I gave my money to these crooks, do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes.
