Was able to experience dinner and the wonderful sounds of Brazillian Bossa Nova and Samba last week. We had dinner reservations before heading to the lounge. Ingrid was our waitress and was incredible. She was kind and personable, and provided recommendation. Rene who was also working the area also had great customer service and was attentive. Food was perfection. The cheesecake 10/10. The drinks, exceptional. The mushrooms and mashed potatoes, wow. If you ever have the opportunity to eat here, do it. I will say the wait staff upstairs in the lounge were the complete opposite of the restaurant. They didn't even say "thank you" or "have a good night" after you paid and tipped which was a bit off-putting. Its a member only club but I would assume staff is encouraged basic etiquette and friendliness. Overall a great experience. Removed a star because I think customer service should be consistent throughout the establishment, especially if you are paying that much money. read more

Gravitas is a members-only restaurant, and I visited for Sunday brunch with my daughter. We joined the Bingo Beats Brunch, which was really fun--my daughter even won a game! The space is big with a nice ambiance, and I can imagine it's even better in the evening, so I'd love to come back for dinner. We ordered the avocado toast, Gravitas omelette, and fries. While I expected something a bit more elevated, the food was still good. I also liked their Women's History Month cocktail, where proceeds go to a foundation. The place is beautiful, but really horrible service and the return on investment on the food is really not there. Paid close to $50 for a tiny piece of salmon and they couldn't even tell me if it was farm raised or wild cut. The salmon did not come with any sides nor any was offered when I ordered it. You need to get a DJ in here on Thursday or Friday nights and make it a thing. The place was dead heavily discount membership for girls and do some marketing to get people to come improve the training of the service staff and at least give some damn sides with the salmon. read more

When I heard a restaurant was opening at the base of our building, dreams of martini lunches danced in my head. Sadly, those dreams fizzled when I found out it was going to be a private "members only" club. We'll lucky for me, my boss got a trial membership and my wish for a martini lunch came true! Designed by Kelly Architects, Gravitas is stunningly beautiful! Co-Founder Brandon Steven put a lot of thought into making his grandiose vision a reality. This 28,000 sq ft multi-level establishment has three bars (the main bar has a retractable roof), private dining booths, a media room, and even a poker room. Temperature controlled wine lockers, a recording studio, and a private chauffeur service are just some of the benefits that come with being a member of this exclusive club. The customer service here is superb. Everyone I encountered was friendly & attentive. We sat at the main bar, which is quite large. I happily sipped my perfect martini with blue cheese olives while soaking in the luxurious ambience. We shared the Oysters on the Half Shell and Shishito Peppers, even though I wanted Caviar Service ($150 an oz). The Oysters were large, plump, and tasted so fresh. The Shishito Peppers were roasted and tossed in lemon, tamari soy sauce, bottarga, & sea salt. They were tasty & addictive. I just popped one right after another in my mouth. Everything was so fantastic! We had another round, which allowed me to convince my boss to sign up for a membership so now my dreams of martini lunches will now be a reality. The space is huge and well decorated and designed. The service here is great. They're very attentive and professional. They will make sure to give you a refill as soon as you finish your drink. They remember your drink orders very well. I was very impressed. The sushi is incredible - I highly recommend it! It's a standout dish (appetizer). The salmon is great - it is so tender. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The polenta was great and the fries were yummy. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, cheesecake, and apple tartin. They were all delicious, but the tiramisu was the clear winner for me. A friend said that it tasted like a European recipe. The cheesecake was SO light and not too sweet. The bathrooms are unique - each stall is an individually locked door with a sign indicating for men or women and then there are communal sinks that are accesible for everyone. It really opens the door to the opportunity for men and women to network or "bump into each other" in the bathroom. We had a great experience here. I'm a member. Everytime I have been it's been extremely boring. Also, when you pay the type of money members do, only to talk to others at the bar that say "oh I'm not a member. They just let us in" makes me feel stupid that I'm the only one who paid. You mean I could have saved myself $8k this year and just came in? This has happened every single time I've been there. People come up to and introduce themselves and non of them are members. Maybe things will change, I sure hope so. It's close to my house, a beautiful venue, and has a lot of potential. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's been were coming up on a year soon. I try and get a few friends to go with me, but they would rather go somewhere that has more of a crowed. I think this place will find its "groove...eventually. A few things I noticed: 1) The decor is confusing, it's like 90% Nobu hotel and 10% Alice in Wonderland/ The Wizard of OZ. Very Bizarre. 2) The food is good but the staff is still getting acclimated (there were a few instances where the wrong dishes were brought to our table). 3) There are a lot of different spaces and they haven't quite figured out what each area is for. The vibe of this place is incredible. All of the spaces are beautifully laid out and the club, in general, feels spacious and cozy at the same time. Everyone who works there, from GM and managers to hosts and bartenders, really treat people like gold. I've been here twice. First time was for a live podcast filmed upstairs, and it's a really comfortable space for any event or live show. The seating is all extremely comfortable, and the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming, without ever getting in the way of the show. Made friends with a couple random folks sitting next to me, and we ended up heading to the bar downstairs after the show for a few more drinks. Second visit was for a date night dinner. Service was awesome, again, and Josh and Katie really made us feel at home. We had shishitos, crab legs, scallops and drinks and everything was on point. Their main dining area has a really awesome vibe. If you're at a table or a booth, you feel like you're at dinner in a high end restaurant, except with a lot more space than usual. I love that the space isn't crowded with tables and seating arrangements. Even from our booth, we could see the TVs around the bar, which I loved because I was able to periodically glance over and see the score of the Lakers game. The entire bar/dining area has a retractable roof, and a portion was open while we were there for dinner. Loved being able to see the sky and smell the fresh air during dinner. Looking forward to going back in the summer, when the entire roof is open. Sitting at the bar is a great place to watch any sport as there are TVs overhead, all around the inside. The drinks are all great and I haven't had to wait at all for service. Another GREAT place to watch sports is the room upstairs where we saw the podcast the first time. It has a huge LED wall, which they split to show different games at one time. Such a great place to watch sports with friends. That room also has full service bar and food menu. Really looking forward to going back, as there's something different happening every time. First time had a couple really talented musicians doing an acoustic performance in the dining/entry area. Really added to the vibe. Have also seen two separate DJs keeping the mood right during dinner. Great place to take a date you want to impress, take friends who are in town, or have meetings with potential clients. Lots of private rooms and spaces, if you need a more private area to meet about more sensitive deals. Restrooms are also beautiful and very well-maintained. The restaurant and bar are gorgeous, and the service was exceptional!--just the right amount of "checking in" without feeling like they were overbearing nor interrupting our conversation.
