First I want to start off by saying. I review everything and everyone. Being that I'm an entertainer I thought of doing a fundraiser for a friend's grandson who has cancer. I met with Serra the owner. She gave me a tour of her venue. Then Showed me the menu. Hummus and pita appetizers, Lentil soup which i tried right then and there. It was the best lentil soup I'd ever eaten. Fried calamari, chicken kabobs, Steaks & all types of salads including a full bar. I knew the venue would be perfect. I asked for a rehearsal a few days before the event and Serra accommodated me . Well It was a sold out event raising money for Kevin. And everyone ate and drank. It was a win win. Thank you Serra. Everything could improve! We were with a group that paid in advance. Service took two hours to get appetizers. Main course took another hour, and was inedible. Owner treated us terribly and servers took their cues from her and argued all night. Sign on the table included the sentence "your support and business are appropriated" (sic) that part is accurate... Never again! read more

I would like to share my experience with Serra's Dine & Dance Club, which is now a lovely restaurant with excellent food. Recently I have visited at Serra's Restaurant a few times for dinner and for drinks with several friends lately ( during COVID ) and each one of my friends and myself, we had an amazing time and enjoyed the personal attention of the owners Serra and Hilda.. Also each one of us truly enjoy the tasteful & delicious Mediteranean Cuisine. I even had the blessings to get personalized menu delivered to my home during my COVID episode gor 15 days ... They cooked a special healthy meal every day for me... am so very grateful!!! Also due to Covid they had to make some changes and it really looks beautiful outside I will attach some pictures that I was able to take that nice. Where to begin! This awesome place has the best crew making fabulous drinks and delicious foods. With COVID now there are some changes like before Dj Serra would make you dance the night away while you sip on their yummy cocktails and eat the delicious foods. But now no Dj or dancing (it'll be back soon) however music playing in background, seating is outside still great atmosphere and same good foods and drinks, you can shoot darts outside or some other games pretty cool! I've read many of the reviews for this place and I cannot speak for them, since each case is different. Fair disclosure - i didn't order food so i cant judge the food but the level of service even for my first visit impressed me. I came alone on a Thursday night at 10pm for a school assignment to experience world music. Thursday nights is Greek Laiko & Buzuki night, so they had a band performing a blend of pop tunes to Latin & Greek instrumentation, as well as Greek dance and folk songs. It was a pleasurable experience watching the performances. My night got a bit interesting when Serra (the owner) approached me and asked if i was alright. I hadn't ordered anything up to then and I came alone, so it seemed a little off to a casual observer. I thought the least i could do was order something, so i did. The drink costed $14 for a couple ounces of cocktail. Not a great deal from a customer standpoint, but there are worse things to deal with in the world. While enjoying the music from the bar, Serra gave me a treat on the house. That was very kind of her and in my mind, a bit unnecessary as I was just there to enjoy the music, i graciously accepted it anyway. That was really cool. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews cause I completely disagree. We honestly use Serra's Dining and Dance as our venue for our Exotic Male Dance night. And the service and bar and food are great. We've already done several shows and have only gotten good compliments on service and so forth. We use all her in house service as far as waiters and bartenders and there all great. And we have nothing but compliments from our clients. I think a lot of outside people use her venue and those are the people that are unprofessional and negative. The owner Serra is an absolute sweetheart. Went here for a friend's bday. It was nasty - the food was TERRIBLE, the restroom smelled like burnt grease and cheap air freshener, and there was visible dust on the cheap, chintzy decorations. I asked for a refill of my water and the server acted like I was asking her to run over to my house and mow the lawn real quick or something. She growled at me that after this refill, I could just walk over to the bar to buy a bottle of water instead of making her come back over and over. (Isn't that her job? Isn't that why they are called "servers"?) There is a super-loud speaker on the patio outside which is annoying, since I went outside to get away from the noise inside. When I told one of the women who works there that the bathroom was out of soap, she just looked at me like I had sprouted another head and was speaking in tongues. What kind of establishment is this place, anyway? Don't waste your time or money. I'd have rather gone to In-N-Out or even Denny's. And we all felt the same way. read more

I wasn't aware the party got cancelled and when I showed up I was told that they were still expecting the party and that the guys had to pay cover even though it was for a private party. This is a minus 3 (-3) star review. I have tried repeatedly to give this place a chance because people I know sometimes perform there, but 3 times it has been an EPIC FAIL and this last time just did it for me! Love my friends but I'll never, eva, eva step foot in this place again. Here are my 3 stories: 1) I went with a friend and her daughter to this establishment to see a friend perform. The daughter was going to be 21 in 3 weeks. We were there for a dinner and the show, but they made us leave because the daughter was not 21. She was not drinking, she was 3 weeks shy of her 21st birthday and her mother was there. We tried to reason with them which was futile, so we left and went to their competition down the street, Cafe Cordial, and watched their show and had dinner and the daughter was never an issue with them. 2) I went back to this establishment for someone who was having an event there. I went by myself. Several times I tried to flag down a waitress to take my food and drink order. I was finally able to order a glass of wine and a chicken salad. After 50 minutes, YES 50 MINUTES, of waiting on my food and drink I just walked out. 3) THIS ONE WAS THE FINAL STRAW!!! This past Sunday I went back to this place because friends were doing a show. I ordered a glass of wine and some humus. As usual I had to flag down someone to take my order and then flag them down again when I wanted to close out my check. The next day I get a phone call from a friend, who I sat next to the night of the show, but I couldn't answer the call. It was then followed by a call me ASAP text. When I am finally able to call him back he tells me a friend he was with that night, WHO I DIDN'T KNOW, called him and said he had my debit card!!! I look in my wallet and sure enough I have this guy's debit card - THE STUPID WAITRESS MIXED UP OUR DEBIT CARDS!!! Luckily this guy was honest or else he could've wiped out my bank account. This guy lives in Bellflower and I live in the valley so it was no easy trick to getting our cards back to each other. On Monday we did a 3-way call to Serra's about this inexcusable mix-up and left a message. It is now Thursday and do you think they called us back - NOPE! Not even the decency to apologize. If I could personally shut this place down I would. They are horrible, horrible horrible. Just look at the reviews - they are all 1 star! read more

My experience with Serra's has been great. We run a small dog rescue and for our fundraising event , we needed it food donation. We talked to owner of the restaurant Serra's , she didn't even think twice and said YES happy to help..She turned out to be a big dog lover herself, opens her home to homeless dogs. Review is based on WEBSITE and the other 8 negative reviews. I am rather taken aback at the negative image Serra has garnered intself. It does appear the service is awful, food bad, the place dusty and the outside patio too noisy (common themes in these reviews) A neighbor of mine, who happens to contract through Serra, informed me of this place and I was researching for some useful Yelp info. to guide my first visit. And now the website.... This site has more grammatical and spelling errors than any website I'm familiar with. It projects a poor image of what - per the photos - appears to be an upscale and well-frequented nightclub. However, looks may be misleading (read other reviews) I'm very much into eclectic and EOE themes and performaces and was interested in attending one of the 'alternative shows' performed there. However, the reviews (and said website) have me feeling that if I go I'll be harrassed, taken for my money, sneezing with itchy watery eyes, and deaf by the time I'm done. ...hmmm....don't think so! If one (1) ....JUST ONE.... positive review makes it on Yelp, I'll give the place a chance. Till then, clean up your website and stop pretending that one or two busy nights (as observed in photos) consititutes a successful venue. Do what it takes to earn positive reviews, even if it means firing some staff and hiring better ones, or turning to a better cleaning crew with vaccums and feather dusters. And one more thing - I don't drink, so free water and/or soda is appreciated by those of us who are relegated to driving home those you do squeeze for exorbitantly priced libations - maybe 'not your problem' but is a gesture of 'good business etiquette.' read more

Very rude staff, there was this girl who yelled at everyone in the very bad manner and awful attitude, that the club is closing and we have to leave the padio. She could've said that in the nicer manner. Never again. You pay to get in and you buy drinks and all, but at the end you get yelled at. I paid $90+ for 2 tickets to see a show on Valentines day with dinner included. Prepaid. We sat for 2 hours while people around us were served food.We asked the server how we were supposed to order as we had recieved 2 tickets for the dinner we had prepaid for and the server told us someone would come by to to take our order. No one ever came to take our order. We had to go to the bar to order our drinks and still no one came to take our order. The people around us all recieved their dinners and still no one came to take our dinner orders. At this point I was done and jus jot wanted my money back so that we could go and salvage our Valentines day dinner somewhere else and all the bartender would say was "We are doing our best." So we left, after paying $36.00 for 2 drinks on top of the $100 we paid for basically nothing. Just want to say this is not a reflection on the show. The show (what we saw of it before we left) was amazing. 5 stars for the show. We went to the Christmas show (no dinner included) and had an amazing time. Well, after reading all the positive reviews about Serra's I was really looking forward to attending my best friend's birthday celebration there. Yes, sure enough, there was a dance floor but not a very big one. It's pretty much your typical (older) bar with the cement flooring and dancing area with small tables and chairs surrounding it. Overall, I'd give it a 5 on a 1-10 scale for appearance. No ambiance to speak of. It was uncomfortably "stuffy" and hot. I was not dancing and while simply sitting at the table I broke a sweat. I asked the server if she could turn down the air and she was very rude. She yelled, "what do you want me to do!" And walked away from me. Apparently, this individual had quite the same reputation among my other friends there that night as well. I purchased a drink from the bar and..;...again, I was served by the same mean lady. I ordered 2 shots of Kettle One Vodka, chilled, with lime in a glass. She gave me 1 shot of Kettle One Vodka in a shot glass. When I explained to her, again, what I wanted she raised her voice and said, "what is it that you want? Be clear!" This lady was beyond rude with the manner in which she addressed me. Given the expression on her face and the tone in her voice she was very obviously very annoyed. To say the least, it was pretty uncomfortable. Ok, here's my grand finale.....2 shots of Kettle One Vodka cost me $32!!! $16 for a single shot of Vodka! I don't think I would recommend this place. read more
