After having a rough time this morning with our toes, I decided to take my sister to the only other nail place I really knew in Ogden. D&T Nails. We called and were told we could walk in which was a nice break from this mornings experience. We drove down and waked in, immediately we were greeted by the owner and our temperatures were taken. Once he was sure we didn't have a fever he took his temperature to show us that he as well was fever free. They asked what we wanted, gel color for me and French tips for my sister, and then we were seated with a workstation between us for social distancing, offered water, and they began. And it was wonderful. The gentleman I had was very kind and carried on conversation well, even going so far as to polish the silver ring I always wear in my finger when he was prepping my hands. read more

I went here to get my nails done for my birthday. They were all crooked and the acrylic was even all over my nails. I took my aunt outside to tell her I dont like them, she told me to go tell the lady and see if she can fix them. I go back inside, the lady sits me down, CUTS OFF MY NAILS, and tells me to get out. I have to say, this is one of the worst nail Places I've been, to date. I wish I had read the reviews first but I was driving all day and couldn't. I am not a frequent nail Salon visitor but have been to enough salons over my 56 years to know a good manicure/ pedicure. First , the massage chair for pedicure was old and didn't provide the relaxing experience I was looking for. The pedicure was just meh. At least the polish on my toes seemed to be decent . But the manicure...my goodness. I do not wear nail polish usually but appreciate a good clean up of dead skin around my nails and a proper buff. He argued with me and kept trying to use that electric nail file that salon uses to thin down acrylic nails. (That nail literally peeled off when I got home from the file) I just wanted a good buff with the creme and buffer which they acted like they had never heard of (and I've always gotten this). I left so disappointed that my visit was a total Waste and had wanted a special visit prior to my only sons wedding. I won't ever go back ! I really wanted to like this place because the owner and his wife are lovely but I went for a gel polish change only and how my nails turned out lumpy is beyond me. If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a frequent salon goer, and wanted a quick place to take my daughter to get our nails done because my normal salon was booked for the day. Not only did it cost $10" for a simple pedicure and gel manicure the quality was HORRIBLE. Honestly there were some points my jaw dropped. I honestly don't even think the man who did my nails was a nail technician. My gel was so lumpy and uneven, there were literally parts that were peeling up when I got into the car. My pedicure was the same story, and he cut off half my toe nail. My daughters top coat was all over her fingers, and when I would voice my concerns, they would just talk over me. I went to them because they were near. I got fungus in my nails and even with medication from the doctor, it was taking forever. The man who works there knows how to treat it and he is very clean-conscious, too. I have been going about three months and my nails are looking better every time. He knows how to clean them properly keeps his equipment well-sanitized. He just got a little gizmo to that can file down the tops of the nails. I do not know how they do on polish and that kind of thing, but I do know that if you are having problems such as fungus he is worth is money. read more

The lady was nice enough but didn't care enough to finish each step properly. I immediately had to go buy some files and file the excess acrylic off of my cuticles and by that time the nails had already begun to show air pockets from lifting. My thumb nail was put on crooked and is sticking up in an unnatural way. So much so that I have kept it hidden when possible. I'm not a fan. Their prices aren't very transparent nor worth what you get. They advertise a basic pedicure at $22, and getting gel nails is only $10 more. Tell me why my total was $59 then? Especially for the wrong color and poorly done nails. The color I got looks hardly anything like the color I picked out. To top it all off, there was a long, black hair (I'm blonde) on my leg after a towel was placed on my leg. Ew. Pretty disappointed overall, we won't be returning. read more

Terribile experience. My bad for not noticing the 2-Star average review before I went. - I arrived on time for my 4pm mani-pedi appointment. They put me in the pedicure chair where I waited for AN HOUR for the guy to come over to start my pedi. - I "upgraded" to the most expensive option but it wasn't worth it. He went really fast and my heels were still really rough when he was done. - He did not shape my toenails at all, even after I asked him to pay more attention to it a couple of times. They were uneven and crooked he missed polishing the nail in many places, yet overshot the polish to get it on my cuticles. - Like the other reviews, the woman who did my "manicure" skipped steps and barely trimmed my cuticles and hangnails at all. She started putting on the gel before she trimmed or shaped my nails -- said she would do it after she put the gel on which I have never seen done before. - Now for the worst part... She put the gel on 4 fingers and ran out of the color. Ok, so just go get another bottle, right? They didn't have another bottle of that color or anything even close. I had chosen a deep green color and I wanted (and told them in advance) the same color on both my toes and hands. So now I have my toes dark green (even though it was a shitty job) and no more color to match my fingernails. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT BEFORE THEY EVEN DID MY TOES. - I ended up leaving, after TWO AND A HALF HOURS, with a shitty pedicure, no gel on my fingers, and having to pay $57 just to get out of there. I came here simply because I got ripped off at my other nail place. Twice. Lesson learned. OKAY so, I came in on a Monday afternoon and called ahead to make an appointment. My babysitter was running late (why does this always happen?!) So I called them back to let Them know. They were nice about it... Didn't matter tho...know why? UGLY JOB, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD PLACE. I took my two nieces here to get their nails done and they did a horrible job. One of my niece told the lady she wanted coffin shapes, but the lady made it round. Then with my second niece, her lady didn't even file the acrylic under her nail!! I didn't know how horrible the nails were until the next day when my nieces told me and showed me their nails. The guy that helped me didn't change his gloves. He went from helping one lady to me without changing them. He rung her up with the same gloves and answers the phone. Really unsanitary. I went here when I moved to the area and got a full set as well as a pedicure. My nails were not the shape that I wanted and my cuticles on both my toes and fingers were not cut. I decided to give them another chance later on being that they are so close to my house and the second visit was the same if not worse. My sister in law and I wanted to take our daughters out to get our nails done, she got a pedicure, I got acrylics and the girls got their nails painted (all which took only 30 minutes!). We were the only ones in the salon and were tended to for about 10 minutes then 4 Caucasian women walk in and were treated like royalty, offered bottles of water, given special treatment, and they just left us sitting there. The lady finally came back and started again on my acrylics when I asked her if my sister in law and daughters were gonna get finished and she says oh they are finished! they only took 10 MINUTES on a pedicure and 2 nail paintings! Then when doing my nails I noticed that it wasn't what I asked for (ombré pink to white squared oval) so I tell the lady and she says no I do silver and I said no when I came in I asked if you could do ombré and she kept going and said no I do silver! Walk ins welcome, but an appointment will make sure you don't waste too much time. They prefer cash and it's written all over the walls, but they'll still accept credit cards. Stereotypical Asian nail salon where they do a great job for a great price. $35 for a deluxe pedicure that includes a soak, a scrub, a lotion massage, a paraffin wax treatment, and painted nails. They have cheaper and more expensive options but that one rocks. I've never had my nails done here, but I'm sure it's typical for what you find around town. I like this place because they don't rush you out too fast and they take their time with your pedicure. But they also don't keep you there all day. read more

I went in today as a walk in; they got to me very quickly. The salon is very clean and welcoming. The staff is amazing! Very friendly and really care about your experience and pampering. Pretty average mani/pedi- Sun who started my pedi was very nice, and so was the woman who did the polish and my nails, which got them 3 stars but otherwise my nails themselves aren't that great. Toes look good but some of my finger nails have bubbles (she already fixed two of them so I kinda gave up), there's blobby thicker areas of polish and in some spots the polish overlaps my cuticles or on to my fingers. There was also confusion about how much extra it was for gel but they were nice enough to go with what they quoted me (10$) instead of 15$ posted. They were very nice here but I'd probably save the extra spent on the manicure and do my own nails next time. read more

I recently used a gift certificate here to get a gel manicure and "normal" pedicure. The cost for both was about $40 which is standard for this type of strip mall nail salon. I was pleasantly surprised by D&T Nails. When I walked in I was skeptical because the building and equipment seem a bit old and dated but it wasn't necessarily a bad experience. I am really particular about the massage chairs in these places. These ones seemed old and shabby but they worked great. The selection of magazines was fine and they offered everyone water - which was nice. Four stars for the staff. They were engaging without being overbearing and they were very pleasant to talk to. The quality of the mani/pedi was fine. You get what you pay for, right? I'm being picky here but the temperature of the basin for the pedicure was cold. The temperature of the water to soak my hands in during the manicure was scalding. These little things detracted from the experience but I'm not one to expect the Grand American spa experience for $40. Two stars for cleanliness. I definitely wasn't grossed out because, generally speaking, everything was fairly clean but like most of these budget nail places I noticed that some of the tools were not cleaned between clients which was off-putting and unsanitary. read more

I got a pedicure and gel manicure last week. The pedicure was okay but I was horrified when I realized that they were not sanitizing the foot tubs between customers - all they did was rinse it off with water for a half a second and fill it up again. No soap, no cleaning solution, nothing. Absolutely disgusting. The products they were using for the manicure were really cheap. The swatch I picked out turned into a totally different color when it was actually on my nails, and after 3 days, they started peeling off. My nails look terrible plus they cut me around all my cuticles. When I got home I put hydrogen peroxide on my fingers and it bubbled and burned everywhere. Plus only one lady actually does nails, so they will sit you down, prep your nails, then have you wait a hour before she even starts. So gross here. Do not go. Worst place to get your nails done, I called ahead to make an apt, I got told it wasn't busy and that there wouldn't be a wait. When I get there I get told to pick a color, they seat me and I wait about 30 mins maybe 40 to get my nails done. The lady is doing my nails and she going back and force which is fine I don't mind but I've things to do. I asked her if she could straighten out two of my nails because they were looking uneven. She "fixes them" but they still looked back so I just decided I'd fix them at home. I asked for a very simple design a candy cane. She starts doing it and from the start it's looking terrible. She "finishes" it but I look nothing like what I asked her to do, I ask her if she could just paint all of it and she and why I tell her because it's not was I asked for it looks nothing this it. She asks why again I tell her I don't like it. Then she involves the guy and he tells me that she did what I asked and I tell him it looks nothing like what I'm asking for. So they both start arguing and I'm simply just want her to paint over it and she got mad and started arguing with me ( I gave no attitude) but she decided to involve another lady that was a CUSTOMER into our situation so I stood up and showed her what I asked for vs what she gave me and she agreed that it looked nothing like what I was asking for. She starts arguing more and I walked out because I was getting frustrated because they didn't understand that it's not what I wanted. (My boyfriend was still in god store) I go back in the lady locks the door so we can get out which is dramatic and I get yelled at saying that I've to pay and that they're going to call the cops, ( I never said I wasn't going to pay) they start yelling at me telling she works over an hr on my nails (Because she was going back and forth) that I needed to pay for the labor, I NEVER SAID I WASNT GOING TO PAY. I just didn't find it far for me to pay for a crappy design. Tried blaming it on the shape of the nails but let's be real you should know how go do them regardless of the shape. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing none at all. They're thing their half ass job it worth what they're charging. Mother of god, worst place to come to for waxing. The lady had NO CLUE what she was doing and I had to teach her. She did very small strips at a time, and waxed in blotches instead of from up to down (for ex: she would do a small part on my upper leg and then on my lower...wtf?) thus, she missed a ton of spots and I had to keep showing her where she missed. She also just tapped the strips instead of smooth them out with her hand when pulling and pulled up instead of straight across causing missed hairs. Then she tried to pluck some of the missed hairs and kept missing! I showed her how to do the toes properly, and eventually she got it. Took close to two hours for her to do my full legs and didn't finish bec I was too sore from her going over some places 3 times that cause my skin to become red and raw. I had to clean myself up too bec I had tons of sticky places to clean that she also missed. They need serious waxing training. read more
