I had a late opening for my pool this year and after having two huge trees removed from around the…read morepool this past winter, there was a thick layer of fine silt sitting on the bottom of my pool. My usual opening routine didn't work well, and I decided to seek help. I left messages at a handful of pool services in the area. Mike was the first to return my call. He asked specific questions and listened as I walked him through what I had already tried. I was surprised when he asked me to get something to write with and follow his directions. He walked me through a plan, made sure I knew what I needed, and the timelines. He could have charged me who knows how much, but he heard me tell him that I've always been able to work through caring for my pool on my own. He told me to try the plan and call him if it didn't work. I shared my surprise at his willingness to give me guidance when solving others' pool problems are how he earns his money. He laughed and said he'd rather be known for being helpful and honest when someone is asking for information. I told him he's probably earned a customer for closing and opening from this point on - and for anything else that is beyond my capabilities. In today's world of no callbacks, no replies, no-shows and poor communication, dealing with Mike gave me a little bit of hope that there are good business owners out there.

He was flexible about the time of the appointment and VERY accommodating! Once he arrived, he and his associate (I'm sorry that I don't remember his name) were fast, efficient, and friendly. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and answered all of my questions (and didn't make me feel stupid about asking them, which is a pleasant change). Mike told us to call or message him with any questions, and he actually responded promptly and courteously every time. He has since checked back (unprompted by us) to make sure everything is still running smoothly. You can trust Mike to do good work and to STAND BY IT. I will call him again (without hesitation) in the Fall to close our pool down for the winter. Thanks, Mike!

Since 2021, we have worked with them for regular maintenance, service calls, questions about balancing chemicals, purchasing supplies and more. They are knowledgeable, kind, patient and accommodating. That was immensely helpful when I was getting the hang of the new hot tub. I highly recommend this business. They stand by their product and provide support to the customer for years.

This is an industry full of questionable service providers. Ethical vendors are tough to find and ethical ones that do what they say they are going to do when they say are going to do it are nearly extinct. M&G checks that box. I've used 4 or 5 other vendors in the city and they have universally disappointed. Matt and his team are great at what they do. Now that I use them, I no longer have anxiety when I need to service on my pool.

One day he could be very nice and the next day not so much. He has an arrogant intimidating way about him at times. With that being said, I don't always feel comfortable calling him first. I usually call the technician that was assigned to my house. (I wasn't even aware he was no longer there since I'm not home when they come out). We had torrential rains a week or so ago, and it messed up the balance of the Pool so I reached out to the technician that was assigned to me and he informed me that he's no longer with this company. I told him I was not aware of that situation I said sorry for bothering him, but that I like to call him first because I don't feel comfortable calling the owner since he's moody. This former technician then told me that there were other customers that felt the same way that are no longer with him. The next morning, I get a text from the owner telling me that he doesn't know why I called. my former technician to complain about him and because of that he's terminating my service. Didn't ask me what happened or asked me why I feel uncomfortable to call him just assumed. (the conversation was obviously repeated back to the owner) The owner has a you're YOU'RE WELCOME attitude not a thank you for your service attitude. That in itself is a reason that I would not recommend this company. I am a small business owner myself. If I had a customer that compained to my husband about me or me about my husband, the last thing I would do is tell them to get out of my store. I would call them and say, why do you feel this way? How can I fix it. That's why we've been in business almost 50 years. We and cherish our customers . Without them you don't have a business.
