I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. This time, the old girl was not going to make it. Ascot made some adjustments so that the noise would be reduced, but, since the unit was so old, the part that was rattling was no longer available. It was time for a new HVAC system. Doug (the owner) came by personally to give me an estimate on a new system. He took the time to explain all of my options and the pros and cons of each. At no time did I get the feeling that he was ever trying to "upsell" me. In fact, he was very straight forward about what he felt, in his professional opinion, was worth the cost, and what might be over and above what I needed. I really appreciated this as I really know very little about HVAC systems, other than what I was able to figure out through my own online research. I got two other estimates, and Ascot's price was right in the middle of the three. Ultimately, though, it came down to relationship and trust. I totally trust Ascot to do the job right, stand behind their work, and to be there to take care of me if any problems come up. Ascot installed my new furnace, chimney liner, and AC coil in October, and it has been working great. With the dip in temperatures this morning, I am very happy to be toasty warm in my well-heated house! They will come back in the spring to put in the new AC system.
