This is probably my favorite massage place in town! It was my birthday week and decided to give this place a try especially since it had a beach view, great pool area with cabanas, great food at the restaurant inside resort.. and great reviews on yelp! Cristina the owner of Dames Spa was sooo accommodating, very pleasant, and gave great customer service along with her amazing and friendly staff!!!! I booked it on a weekend that was booked but once I told her it was my birthday week Cristina went out of her way to give me the appointment I requested. It was a bonus that she planned out a special moment of playing a birthday song with a birthday cake and wine walking right out after the massage!!!! That definitely made my day! Lilly was my masseuse and one of the best ever she made sure I was comfortable and definitely focused on the areas I needed the massage on most. My husband and I did the Paradise Couples Massage....so we'll worth it! I give this place 5 stars all the staff including staff from the hotel and restaurant were amazing! I bought a couples massage on Groupon. Christine the owner was super pleasant and got us taken care of right away. We were in separate rooms. We got to pick the scented massage oil, I chose coconut which was divine. The massage was 50 minutes of pure bliss. The spa itself is located right next to the small ocean-view gym and pool area/jacuzzi which we were able to use after our massage, included in the price of the groupon. After our massage we chatted with Christine who offered us complimentary beer and wine, nothing like a beer to go with your massage! We spent a couple of hours by the pool enjoying spicy mango margaritas and ahi tuna toast from the restaurant watching the waves from the jacuzzi. It was a perfect day! read more

My experience at D'ames Spa can only be described as perfect. This was my first time getting a massage and I completely enjoyed it. I paid for a couple of Swedish massages and I also got the add on for muscle and joint relief. As soon as you walk in the receptionist was really welcoming and offered us drinks and then explained to us how the Spa worked. My massage therapist was Kristine, she did an amazing job at making sure I was relaxed and comfortable the whole time. Wow what a quality experience! My husband bought a Groupon for my birthday. We got to the spa a little early, watched the sun set from the jacuzzi and then the office manager offered us wine and chocolate. It's conveniently located by several restaurants. My best friend treated me to a massage day, which turned out to be an entire vacation day! We're from San Diego, but it felt like we were far, far away at this beachfront resort! The restaurant.... amazing brunch with a $12 bottle of champagne for mimosas! The spa treatment... wish it could have gone on for HOURS. Mimosas by the pool, then happy hour 2:30-5:00. I'm one happy woman! My boyfriend asked me if I wanted a massage today... "Umm YES!" I was looking forward to getting a good rub down. My body has been sore from jet lag, my neck was all messed up from sleeping on planes, and my legs were tight from standing for long hours. Flight attendant problems. I get massages often but this one was the BEST I've had! I think God broke the mold when he made Ricardo! His hands are magic! I requested that he focus more on my neck and shoulders. The pressure was great, he broke down a lot of my stubborn knots, and the scent of that lavender lotion had me hypnotized! Most relaxation I've felt in a long time! Came here with a friend who had purchased a living social deal for 50 minute massages. My masseuse (I wish I could remember her name ) was very good! Professional and gave a good massage. The customer service here is great! I was able to book a one hour massage at their Groupon rate, without having to buy the Groupon. The massage was very relaxing and included my choice of scented lotion. Unfortunately they don't have facilities like a locker room or sauna, but I did have access to the pool deck, and ordered a cocktail at the bar. I also appreciated the valet that was only $3! I had a 50-minute Swedish massage which was a birthday present! The lavender lotion and the sounds of the ocean put me right into the relaxation mood! The staff was friendly and the massage was just right. Also, I loved the location! The hotel is incredibly beautiful and right on the water. Street parking was ample (although they will validate). Bring your bathing suit and enjoy the pool which is right on the beach. Thanks to the ladies at D'ames Spa for great massage experience. I was sore from working out and the team was able to work me in for a deep tissue massage. I love the location, you can sit in the waiting room and watch the waves on the beach while you wait your turn. There is water and wine available in addition to a great dark chocolate almond candy while you wait. Roslyn did a good job with the massage, she was very attentive and help address my problem areas, releasing a lot of the knots and painful tightness. I'll be back soon! read more

I went to the spa for a couples massages with my husband. We were each in separate rooms, which is preferable in my opinion, and had a very enjoyable experience. We upgraded our (Groupon) 50 minute massage to an 80 min which was well worth it. We were cared for by Margarita and Adriana who both did an amazing job. We both felt relaxed and that their technique was effective, yet it did not leave us soar after or days later. The location is quaint and has a nice view to the beach from the lobby. My husband purchased a massage for me at Christmas time. I just got to use it last week. Oh my god!!! I have been to many massage therapists and the local massage chains. Deep tissue massages, in my experience, require some pain for a few days before I can reap the rewards of the massage. Jean was my massage therapist at D'ames. This woman is like no other!!! She worked through my massage with strong but gentle hands. The end result was absolutely amazing!!! My entire experience was to die for. The receptionist, Serah (I asked her how to spell her name...I had to review this girl!) was sweet and attentive, the other employees were engaging and friendly when I was in the waiting area. I've been a spa club member for years and always look forward to my monthly massage! I love the new location and my pre-cocktail at Sea180 as part of my routine. They do offer wine and chocolates in the spa but I just love enjoying the view from Sea180. You can choose your lotion (I love coconut - makes me feel like I'm on vacation) and there are plenty massages to choose from too (although I'm one for deep tissue). Treat yourself! Bought two Groupons as long distance gifts from Virginia -- 50-min massage and 60-min InjecStem Epicurean facial. Sarah -- who's either the manager or just someone really nice who works at the spa -- was unbelievably kind and overall awesome. I asked her to please take care of everything and ensure my Mother, who lives in South S.D., had a wonderful experience, as this was her Christmas gift (but didn't let her know we purchased it at a great deal through Groupon). Sarah took care of everything and worked it so the Groupon voucher need not be presented -- allowing our gift to appear more special than we actually paid! Additionally, Sarah upgraded the 50-min massage Groupon to an 80-min one for a ridiculously small upcharge and promised to schedule our Mother with the best spa personnel. Besides hooking us up with a great deal, Sarah came through with scheduling our Mother with her best therapists/esthetician. Apryl the massage therapist was awesome -- very friendly, great customer service, and awesome massage therapist. Our Mother said it was hands-down the best massage she's ever gotten! As awesome as Apryl was, Anna who provided her facial was apparently extra impressive and super-awesome. I'm not familiar with what a facial entails, but Anna and the treatment so impressed our Mother that she spoke nothing but extremely high praises about Anna and the facial experience. Apparently, the spa is extremely clean, well-maintained/appointed, with awesome views of the beach! While feedback of services and facilities are second-hand accounts received from our Mother, feedback on the front office/Sarah are my own first-hand accounts. I've been a member at D'ames Spa for over 6 years. A member before Pier South Resort was built. I absolutely LOVE this place. Christine, the owner, is always so sweet and caring. I go at least once a month and as long as you explain exactly what type of massage you need to the therapist, you'll leave feeling relaxed, knowing it was so worth it. Parking is easy and I try to get there early to enjoy the ocean view. The Spa location is next to the restaurant so if you absolutely need silence I would recommend booking earlier during the day. I now have two young children (newborn and 2 yr old) during my pregnancy they were wonderful and flexible with my schedule. Once you try this place and love it, I would recommend the membership for a better deal. read more

The facial was ok, the service was not good and I will tell you why. If you mention Groupon, they will treat you different. Putting restrictions on you what you can do and what you can't do. I asked to speak with the manager/owner and they gave me the run around. I even spoke with the assistant manager of the hotel because of the type of treatment I was getting.
