I went with a Toyota Corolla, which I drive personally. I like to stick with something I'm used to. It was about $250 for four days. I arrived right on schedule and the car was waiting for me. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Customer service was super clear and nice, got all the paperwork done when I arrived, and gave clear directions for pick up and drop off. Cars are located at a garage two blocks up from the office, so adjust accordingly if in a rush or carrying a lot of luggage. Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.

A real greeting instead of the usual "wait over there and hope" routine most rental counters lean on. Nial at the front desk set the tone right away. He walked us through every coverage, upgrade, and option with total clarity, and the way he explained things actually made the process easier instead of overwhelming. No confusion. No rushed vibe. Just someone who knows the system and communicates it well. Jessica who walked us to the Ford Escape kept the same energy. Friendly, patient, and focused on making sure everything was squared away before we pulled out of the lot. You can tell the team here takes pride in doing things correctly. Pickup and return were both smooth. No weird surprises. They even gave us a moment to gather our things at drop off, which matters when you are juggling luggage and wedding clothes. Getting here note for travelers: The address is 1600 Mission, which is not located at the Sixteenth and Mission BART station. If you are coming from SFO, you will need the train, then the bus. If you skip the bus and try to walk from the station, it becomes a solid stretch. Entirely doable, just something to plan for. Overall, this spot is dialed in. Clear process, sharp staff, and no nonsense. I will keep coming back whenever I need a car in San Francisco.

I visited this branch no less than four times in an effort to get rent a car in my neighborhood and support my local business. Because Ms. Jimenez was tied up initially, she handed me her business card and asked me to call or email to follow up. She never once responded to email or called me back before I returned the rental car. 2) Fraudulent practices. Because they did not have the SUV that I rented, Ethan Glober verbally offered me a minivan at the same rate. I made my initial reservation at the weekly rate because it looked to be the same as the what five days would have cost. Mr. Glober scrolled to the signature block on his iPad to get me on my way at the end of the day, as this Enterprise closes in the early evening. It was my mistake not to have reviewed the contract, which he said would be emailed to me. 3) Major issues with contract. I told both Brianna and Ethan that I intended to drive the car cross country and drop it off on the East Coast. I made 3 online reservations with the drop off in Delaware (prior to Ethan writing up a the new contract that I failed to review). Ethan wrote up the contract 1) for drop off in SF, 2) for the daily instead of the weekly rate, and 3) for a higher rate for the minivan (instead of at the SUV rate that he verbally promised me, because they did not have an SUV on site). I honestly thought he had been sloppy and emailed the site manager immediately regarding the error. She did not respond. I genuinely want to support local businesses, and it makes me sad to leave a negative review. It sucks that these guys don't have the integrity to honor their word.

Hey, I'm in my mid seventies and Kyte is an app with little human interaction. I ensured that both my wife and I were verified as drivers, and that my insurance coverage was downloaded. Bruce delivered my car to our hotel. He was great, and he helped load our luggage plus showed us the Audi's particulars. I tipped Bruce $10. He deserved it. Bruce used a scooter to return to the Kyte lot in the Mission. My one mistake was not filling our car up with gas on our return. There were gas stations on the SF side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Kyte charged me more than $8.75 a gallon to fill my car after promising to use competitive pricing. Shame on you Kyte, but all the rental car companies do that. But, $8.75! Bruce came again to pick up my car at the appointed time. He was just as kind, and I tipped him an additional $10.00. I wouldn't hesitate using Kyte again, but I would fill the car up with gas myself on my return.

They also took my $200 deposit, so I was already out a lot of money before I even realized what they did. When I went back in to talk to them, they admitted they made a huge mistake. They said they would credit me back over $300, plus give me a $50 credit for the trouble. They even told me the crazy gas charge -- $180 for gas -- was way too high and they would fix it. After all that, guess what? They only credited me $51. That's it. After promising me hundreds back. Then I called customer service hoping someone would fix it, and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. Didn't help, didn't care, nothing. Sixt is honestly one of the worst places I've ever rented from. I would tell anyone: RUN. Find ANY other rental company besides them. And to make things worse, when I first went there, the employees were trying to do shady stuff. They literally told my husband before that if he gave them an extra $50 on the side, they'd "hook him up" with a better car. That's fraud. That's the type of people they have working in there. This whole thing was a horrible experience. Waiting days for my money back, getting lied to, overcharged, and treated badly by customer service. Sixt is not honest, not professional, and not worth the headache. As soon as you see that orange Sixt sign, RUN in the other direction.

Several issues: 1) I…read moreended up paying more than 170$ than planned (for about 6 days). Their customer service (via phone) couldn't justify some of the fees (eg $16 of "airport transport") and said they were from Booking.com. 2) The rental location is OFF the airport. You'll have to wait for up to 15 minutes for the shuttle to get there. This means you'll queue up with a bunch of other people (To be honest, they moved pretty fast). They charge $25 if you want to be taken back to the terminal directly when you drop the car. 3) I bought a tank of gas in advance, and I was told that they would "refund up to half tank of unused gas". But I was told (when I returned) they meant they refund half a tank if you return more than half. 4) People are reporting high late fees. I actually returned early, and I still don't know why the extra $170. 5) They will try to sell you a $200 weekly plan for tolls, but when I checked online, it looks like you can just pay the tolls on the web with the plate. I didn't try it, so I can't confirm, but now you know. On the bright side, the car was OK, even if a little scuffed and stained, and the return was very quick.
