I had a very disappointing experience with home inspector Cyril. During the inspection, I personally witnessed him behaving in an extremely unprofessional and confrontational manner toward the project superintendent. He raised his voice and made remarks such as, "Do you know who I am?" and referenced having a large social media following. He also made statements suggesting that the superintendent did not know who he was dealing with and that he could damage the superintendent's career. Regardless of any disagreement that may have occurred, this type of threatening and intimidating behavior was inappropriate and unnecessary. A professional home inspector should communicate concerns calmly, respectfully, and objectively. Based on what I witnessed, I would not feel comfortable recommending him. read more

He was incredibly detailed and careful, and found issues that probably wouldn't have been revealed until long past warranty (for example, shower leak into the dry wall). Because of his attention to detail, we were able to identify the issue before we had mold, and within the warranty period where the builder had to fix. He spent whatever time we needed to ensure we understood his findings and our rights under state law, and has been willing to answer questions and provide guidance afterwards. Absolutely fantastic experience with Cy! He was booked out when we closed, but just used him for our one year. Even when he was initially booked for our closing inspection, he referred us to someone which definitely made us feel more confident. Incredibly detailed, very kind, and really validated us as new homeowners. Thankfully, we were lucky and didn't have any major issues, but some of the structural issues that we had with the house upon closing were brushed off and ignored by the builder. We now know those issues absolutely need to be fixed, (warped cabinet, cracked shower pan, crooked baseboard corners, warped wall, etc.) and we feel supported with proper evidence to pursue those repairs and issues. If you are just now thinking about starting a build, I would book him ASAP. Or at the very least book him for your one year. read more

cy did my 10 day warranty walkthru on my new build. used the AZ ROC. make sure the builder corrects te problems to your liking. For instance, my stucco ledges weren't square. First time they fixed attempting to please the ROC they just smeared a little fresh stucco here and there instead of fixing it right. I asked builder to come see there work. soon after I had rwo peple with hammer and chisels pounding on my home 4 hours. Guess they didnt want to get fined from the AZ ROC. use them. its a free service. Make sure you have a good inspection report in hand and itemize every complaint on the AZ ROC website. read more

My property in Arizona that I bought new in 2004 just recently became vacant. I started looking for a Home Inspection Company to inspect my house for a possible sale. I found CyFy Home Inspection on Yelp and I decided to give them a call. I spoke to Cy Porter and I relayed to him that I live in California and my property is in Arizona. He immediately offered to swing by and inspect the roof at no cost. I told him that I wanted a full home inspection and proceeded to schedule the inspection. It took about 3 hours for the inspection and Cy was very thorough. We had a facetime review and Cy went over what the house needed in details- the roof needed immediate attention. I called a couple of roofing contractors and had quotes on the roof job. I had the work done yesterday, June 15. Since I live in California and there was no way for me to inspect the work done, I called Cy, left him a voice message and asked him if it was possible for him to check the work that was done on the roof for me.
