Visited Cycles 54 several times over the course of shopping for a new road bike. Very friendly staff with no pressure at all. Patiently answered all of my questions and seemed to understand when sometimes you just want to look around and think before making a decision. Large selection of many different types of bicycles and several brands. Sales person suggested 4-5 different ones for me to test ride but I ended up testing only the one that I felt was the best value out of the brands that I had considered. Lots of accessories and clothing. Service department checked over the bike just before I took it home. Good experience and even 'though they are a little bit of a drive from me I will return there for any future needs. read more

Cycles 54 is a little bit of a drive for me but I have been planning on visiting for sometime. I finally had the opportunity to visit and as luck would have it I also needed to have some work done on my bike. Cycles 54 sells Specialized, Look and Felt bikes. They are also an Indy Fabracation dealer for you fans of custome steel and Ti bikes. The showroom is packed with new bikes and has a cool vibe. The staff is friendly and helpful. My local bike shops did not have time to take me in but Cycles 54 took care of my repair needs right away. The missed the broken shifter cable initially but that is kind of understandable given the circumstances. They quickly corrected the problem and now all is good. read more

These guys are great, seriously. We've been to maybe 15-20 different bike places (looking for the felt zw3), never have we had such amazing service. They had then bike, I nearly lost it when I saw it. Ha. Anyway, they fit me BEFORE I bought the bike and then they did a complete fitting after we bought it. The whole time we were there, we asked millions of questions, they were so patient with me and answered everything. I learned so much in such a short time. I am a technician at an Apple Store, where customer service is something we take major pride on. These guys also knew customer service. Thanks to Christian and the team for everything!! 5-stars is not enough to describe the professionalism, kindness, knowledge and friendliness that we received from Cycles 54. We called to make an appointment for a bike fitting on a Monday morning for a same day appointment. They confirmed a 1:15 appointment for two bike fittings. We arrived a little bit late and they still took us no problem. The owner (didn't catch his name) took his time really making sure the bikes were the perfect fit. He also provided some great insight on other gear and answered questions we had. We didn't know that they were supposed to close at 2pm and he worked on our bikes well past 2:30 without complaint and never rushing. We will be back without a doubt! read more

I decided to take the trip down to Cycles 54 to purchase a road bike based on a recommendation from a friend. Yes I drove from Staten Island, but it was totally worth it. I'm a beginner at this sport but wanted to dive right in and never look back, and their staff helped enormously. They have a great selection of road, triathlon, and cruiser bikes to name a few, as well as biker apparel, gadgets and accessories. A man named Christian fit me for the size, then helped me pick out whatever else I needed to get started. The guys in the back gave a quick final tune up so it was ready to go when I left. These guys were professional, good workers, and they are very informative. I will definitely drive down here again for whatever else I need along the ride. Awesome experience. read more

Great bicycle shop, wonderful staff. I purchased my first serious bike here and the guys at Cycles 54 have been instrumental in my development as a cyclist and even helped me greatly when I decided to make a bid for an Ironman distance triathlon. Recently got back into bike riding after taking a 24 year hiatus from my college days. I researched a lot of bike stores in the area and called Cycles 54 to ask about their inventory. The store rep, Lou was exceedingly helpful answering all my questions so the next day I went to the store and met with another rep, Andy who was AWESOME helping me pick out the right bike. There was no pressure to buy any particular model, and I tried out 4 different ones and even got to test ride them on some adjacent streets behind the store. I must have been there a few hours but I walked out with the right bike for me and I cannot thank them enough for taking the time out to make sure I was completely satisfied. read more

First time looking at a mountain bike so didn't know much of anything. I asked the sales associate if prices were negotiable and his boss said "he's not a charity" a simple "it's a set price would do" terrible way to run a business. I walked out and would never recommend anyone to go there due to their arrogance. read more

The staff was extremely rude. I came in and was completely ignored. No one asked if I needed help finding something, when I was clearly looking for something specific. After wondering around and finally finding what I needed, I stood at the check out and was completely ignored by TWO salesmen. Both didn't even look at me. No greeting, no "I'll be with you shortly", nothing. It was so obnoxious that I left the item on the counter and walked out. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Best shop, period. Great owner, great mechanics, great selection of bikes and gear. Customer service superior to any other shop I've been. Christian (the owner) personally took over an hour with me to get me on the right bike based on my riding abilities. I placed an order for SPD pedals to be shipped to the store. The prices were VERY well matched to online prices (which were claiming 40 percent off) and they were knowledgeable about the products. I was told it was possible my pedals would arrive several days later, but more likely the following week. I called that Friday to check up on them and was told they hadn't come in, the employee told me he would track them to see where they were and call me back. I didn't receive any call back and ended up going direct to the store the following Wednesday. Apparently, the order was misplaced, which happens, I wasn't upset about that. Yet if the employee on Friday had followed through. I wouldn't have been hanging around for 5 days doing nothing and could have taken a different approach. read more
