Post-partum my feet just continued to suffer - every shoe felt uncomfortable after just a short wear and I found myself wearing slides or nothing at all instead. Frustrated I started googling for shoe store that would give my feet a real assessment. I found Miles Ahead Sports and was encouraged by positive reviews. I showed up 30 minutes before closing and still felt I received the utmost service. My feet were measured, my arch assessed and my walk observed to find the best solution. It turns out my feet grew a whole shoe size. Three options were given and the toe boxes checked for the appropriate amount of room. We found a shoe we both felt worked best and off I went. I am normally a discount and outlet shopper but I was happy to pay full retail to get a good fit and the service needed to make that match. I plan on returning when my shoes need to be replaced. read more

My feet had been suffering long enough - ordering shoes online that I thought were right for me resulted in hip pain, a very ugly corn and one very unhappy runner. I am so happy I stopped in to see Keith @ Miles Ahead. He was knowledgeable, patient and found a GREAT shoe for me. This was such a wonderful experience at this store, I will NEVER order a shoe online again. They have my support for life. Thanks Miles Ahead team! read more

As a nurse on my feet 12+ hours a day with a big foot. I was looking into walking specific shoes for work. Many shoes my size are only online and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of trying on and returning. I found this local store online and they were very helpful and friendly. I came in told my situation to Jay and he got me set with a great pair of shoes. From proper fitting, and analyzing my walk and educating me on sneakers he really took the time to get me what I was looking for. Probably the fastest amount of time it ever took for me to find a shoe. #shoplocal read more

Great selection and helpful, knowledgeable staff. Not pushy. Bought a nice pair of running shoes and shorts. Thanks!

Kate was patient and great and fit me with a new pair of Brooks shoes this afternoon. Very impressed with her and the store. She knew her stuff and my orthotics did not scare her! read more

I don't bother even looking anywhere else for my running shoes. Although I am not a runner, I do walk a lot on the boardwalk, in my neighborhood and on the eliptical at the gym. After spending months last time looking everywhere for shoes that fit properly, I went to MAS upon a friend's recommendation. The super nice salesman assessed my feet and gait and found the perfect shoe for my feet. I did not feel rushed, and knew that I was in the hands of someone who knows feet and shoes! Turns out the perfect size was a size larger than I thought I needed. Sigh... Today I went back and got the current model of the same New Balance shoe. Ten minutes and I was done. Even got 20% off for the President's Day sale. Miles Ahead has a customer for life in me! read more

I was at this store yesterday for new running shoes, and was super impressed with the individual attention I received from Keith! He was patient as I tried on about 10 different running shoes looking for the right fit. I was there for about an hour, and he made it bearable as we chatted about school, life, etc. He truly wanted me to find a pair I loved rather than one I could live with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new pair of running shoes! read more

Knowledgeable staff. Knew the perfect shoe for my foot structure, and I discovered I have been wearing the wrong shoe size all these years.

Miles ahead! The place to go! Totally recommended with FIVE BIG STARS!! Wow! Wow! I just came back from such an enjoyable shopping experience! I go running often, and one day I started suffering from terrible shin pains. I walked into miles ahead and they were extremely nice and caring. They looked at my foot, evaluated the shape and arches etc. than they ealuated the style of my run-manually ( not a computer). They told me what the probablem was and than fitted me exactly. They gave me different styles and cuts all for my situation what I needed for my foot. They were not pushy or aggressive in any which way. They helped me out, not merely to make a sale, rather they cared that I had the right shoe that would fit me comfortably and endure the running that I do to the best degree. Mild ahead is extremly recomended and anybody looking for people who know running, People who know how to fit shoes, People who care about the health of your feet, shall give mile ahead a try. I promise you you will not regret it. I was so very happy. God bless them for giving my feet a second chance to run! read more

Well..... Back in the fall of 2012 I had purchased a pair of running shoes (Asics) from Miles Ahead. I was recovering from spine surgery and wanted to try a sneaker with a softer sole and get back into running. At that time money was kinda tight and being out of work for a while $99.00 dollars was a lot of money, but they where to help me on my way to recovery. Within 3 months, 60.2 miles BTW these sneakers where only used for running, they started to fall apart. I immediately called the store on a Saturday and explained what had happened. The guy on the other end of the phone asked me if I had my receipt, I said yes and after a moment of awkward silence he told me there was nothing they could do about it and rushed me off the line. I AM ASSUMING HE WANTED ME TO SAY THAT I HAD NO RECEIPT SO HE COULD TELL ME, SORRY NO RETURNS WITHOUT A RECEIPT. I hung up the phone and about an hour later ordered a pair of sneakers from the Z company online. I put the defective sneakers in my closet till this spring. I was going to throw them out and thought to myself, hmmm let me call asics. Asics took the sneakers back and sent me a new pair, unfortunately the pair they sent me was the new mode and the 13 4E ran narrow. So I had to send them back and now I am waiting on next years model, hopefully they will be wider. BOTTOM LINE ASICS WAS SURPRISED AT WHAT I TOLD THEM ABOUT MILES AHEAD, THEY SAID MILES AHEAD SHOULD HAVE TOOK THEM BACK AND SENT THEM BACK TO THEM "ASICS". Now I am at the mercy of Asics to get a shoe that fits. This store is about 35mins away from me, I happened to be in the area and stopped in today, I needed a lighter wicking shirt, it's been in the 90's everyday for the last week. I explained the story to the guy at the store, he kinda looked at me with doubt. Overall I don't think the guy gave two crapps about my situation. This is a terrible way to treat a customer, I will take my business elsewhere after today, to the big box sporting goods stores and the internet, where returns are done for defective merchandise without any hassle. It didn't quite dawn on me how bad they treated my situation till I was driving home. It's a shame these little mom and pop stores like Miles Ahead used to the heart of this country, but with this kind of attitude it's no wonder why mom and pop stores are being crushed by corporate America. read more
