Last October, I took my bike in to Cycle World to have the tires replaced and an annual tune up. When I got the bike back, I noticed that bolts were a bit rounded and hex screws had burrs. Not a good sign of good wrenching. Once I got home, I looked closer and noticed that they had put a rear tire on my front wheel! I new that because the tire said "rear wheel use only" on the side wall. Not too good from a safety standpoint.....and not rocket science. I brought the bike back and they replaced the tire. When I got the bike back, it had a large fresh scratch on the front fender. I pointed it out to the service guy and he said, well if you hang around, I can show it to the service manager, but I don't think there is anything we can do.....and they didn't do a thing. Not a biggie, I touched it up. Last month while riding, I started to leak oil from the rocker panel on the rear cylinder. I took it to another shop (having vowed not to go back to Cycle World). It seems when I had the tune up done at Cycle World the bolt was stripped and over time, worked itself out a bit. Apparently, the Cycle World mechanic hadn't torqued the bolt and overtightened it causing it to strip. So if you want good wrenching and want safe riding, look to another shop. read more

Literally the absolute worst sales team I've ever met. I've sold cars in the past and have never encountered a more incompetent group of people! The salesman was nice but every time I went in I was told a different amount I would need to put down and it kept climbing. They said it was credit based but I have no issue with lenders in any other area. And even if that were the case, make a call before I come waste 3 hours of my time. When I said I was going to pass on buying the bike , David the finance guy acted super annoyed and kept making loud comments and rolling his eyes about how I was difficult enough to get financed. Haha! Really? The cycle center 7 miles down the road didn't think so. Neither did my 20 k navy Federal card, 18k discover card and 30 k jeep loan. Good try though. I had an awesome experience here today buying my new bike. The staff is very laid back and willing to answer all of you questions and needs. They don't push you to buy and let you move along at your own pace. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly so feel free to ask them all of your questions. If you are looking for anything in particular make sure you ask about it because it may be in the back showroom. Lots of quality bike to choose from here. You won't be disappointed. They are by far the rudest dealership I have ever dealt with. They told me they had a refurbished jet ski saying "their mechanic went through it." And also told me I was going have a 30 day warranty . Then they day I picked it up I put it in the water and it wouldn't go over 25mph. After calling them and bringing it back, they went over the jet ski to find the problem. After telling me what's wrong they then told me I was liable for the damages! After the sales rep telling me on two separate occasions it was covered by a warranty. I then talked to the manager and said I was not able to bring my jet ski back and cussing me out after trying to lie to me about not knowing the problems and said good luck call your lawyer. So I ask how much to diagnose my jet ski. 96.00 dollars they reply. I say no problem. I pick up jet ski and the bill comes to 112.00. I ask why is it more than I was told. Shop supplies they said. I said what shop supplies. They couldn't answer. Be careful. They are tacking this on to every bill whether shop supplies are used or not. Typical sheister service company. *** They actually had the nerve to find out who wrote this review by pulling the ticket and calling me on the telephone about my review. That I did not mention that they took the charge off the bill. He then insulted me further by calling me petty for leaving this review. So now I'm editing my review. Yea, that's a way to deal with a customer. Insult them. He also threatened to post my bill online if I did not change my review to reflect that they took the charge off the bill. Why would I care about that? The point was to let everyone know that they try to put it on every bill. He stated that the computer automatically generates that charge on every invoice and that it was a mistake. That makes no sense. All you have to do is change the computer to not do it. Anyways, they did take it off the bill after I argued with them for 5 minutes and threatened to dispute my credit card. Next time do not threaten me nor call me petty. You do owe me an apology for that. **** Another addendum. Instead of apologizing he insults me again by calling me petty again. Wow! Back at you. Simply put. When someones ask how much something is going to be you quote them everything including shop supplies. That is why they are asking. Not so they also have to make sure they look at some board for even more charges. You don't say it up front so that you can try to slip it in on the bill. WORST CUSTOMER EVER. Owner treats customers like they have to come to his store to buy a motorcycle like you don't have a choice. Very cocky attitude and over priced. Do your self a favor and STAY AWAY. I will NEVER step foot in that establishment again. I wish I would have read the reviews before I came here to spend my money. Thank God that the owner showed his true colors before I spent my money. I ended up going to sunrise cycles on Military Highway and was greeted and treated with the utmost respect. Walked in today with cash in hand to purchase a brand new quad. Salesman flat out told me he wouldn't sell it to me????? Guess I will take my cash down the road to buy. These guys need to realize that customers are what makes them money. Their poor customer service and bad attitude costs them a lot of business (Just take a min to read the reviews on here). They are also not the only game in town. A 20-30 min drive in any direction will yield about 5-6 other dealers with much better customer service. Remember, You are not doing me a favor by selling to me. I am doing you a favor by choosing to come in your dealership. Had purchased a Kawasaki (private), was having issues starting, and staying charged. Came there to purchase a headlight bulb. Came out, bike wouldn't turn over. Walked into the service dept., asked them to give it a once-over, see what my problem was. Picked up the bike the next day, they tell me it's a stator....$1000. job! Spoke to another local shop by phone (Precision), quoted me 4.5 hours labor if I buy the part, about $450. total. Okay, much more palatable. My mechanical friend checks the bike, runs a wire with a diode from the alternator to the battery, VOILA! A $20. fix! The bike has been purring ever since. Returned to Cycle World to explain this, telling them of their mis-diagnosis, but they stuck to their assessment, and refused to return the $77. I paid for them to do so. I may come there for parts, but that is it. They have lost a customer in me, and I wouldn't recommend them to my enemies. Not the way to foster business, guys. read more

I feel pretty sure any other 1 star review is spot on. The winner for me was telling me I had to pay sales tax on shipping and services. I am familiar with sales tax on hard goods, but pretty sure you don't pay tax on destination and setup/service cost. Found the facts on my phone and showed the employee.where there was no tax for the aforementioned. "Well there is here" was the reply. As a local I know this dealership has been here for years, but after my experience I figure they stay in business from dealing with either the very dumb or the very rich. When in to ask about new/used sport bike, they told me that what I was looking for what dumb and why would I get it (anti-lock brakes) why a salesman would talk down about motorcycle safety is beyond me. With rising gas prices motorcycles sales have increased significantly. Buyers beware ordering accessories for your new motorcycle and prepare for long delays on receiving the items. Do not try to hold Cycle World in Virginia Beach to the terms of the agreement for it is your fault that you expect them to fulfill their end of the deal. Once they have your money you become an inconvenience. I purchased a Suzuki Boulevard C50 from Cycle World in Virginia Beach Virginia on June 16th 2008. At the time of purchase I ordered a windshield, back rest, saddle bags and passenger floor boards. I was told that the order will take 3 to 4 days. With that understanding, I purchased the bike with a pre-approved check from a lender plus over $1,000 for the accessories and the extended warranty. For the windshield this was delivered close to promised time. After six weeks of waiting for the remainder of the accessories I was informed that I would have to wait until August 15th 2008. That places my order to 8 weeks or longer from the time of purchases. I still do not have the documentation for the extended warranty. Both Cycle World and Suzuki gave me the impression that it is the customers issue and that the customer should cheerfully give them your money and wait for the product when it is convenient for them. You will quickly become a difficult customer if you insist on receive your purchased items in a timely manner. Do not let them bully you. Contact your local Consumer Protect agency, your state Consumer Protection Agency and the Federal Consumer Agency. There are laws to protect you and laws they must follow. The sales manager David at Cycle World treated me with contempt, and tried to get over on me by trying to sell me his personal 2011 GSXR 750, after he sold the 2013 GSXR 750 that I was in the process of FINANCING. He never told me that a down payment on the bike had been placed until I drove an hour 20 minutes to get their under false pretenses. Cycle World didn't try to be reasonable or customer friendly. I was given the impression that they were doing me a favor, instead of being grateful for the business. Never judge a book by its cover, and stop trying to get over on women. In the words of Jeff E. I purchased a bike from Cycle World of Virginia Beach in 2012 and called to get help with my warranty and a braking problem. I spoke to the Owner, Dan, who likes to raise his voice when his is told of poor service and bad attitude I often receive in their parts shop. He suggested I was the problem and terminated the call. The Owner! I tried to report him to the BBB but the BBB doesn't concern itself with assholes, which apparently, is not illegal, just a bad business model. read more

I brought my master cylinder to these guys to rebuild it. With my lack of knowledge I tried doing it myself but installed one of the washers backwards which did not allow the hydraulic fluid to cycle through the system. So for $175 Cycle World gets me a new rebuild kit and their certified technician Took my master cylinder apart and replaced the new parts I had already installed the same way I did it which was wrong. So I get home I install my master cylinder and I have no pressure I take it apart I decided to flip the washer and it worked. I call Jeff the maintenance supervisor at Cycle World and his poor customer service showed 100%. He would not refund me all of the money he only refunded me for parts so I still paid $100 in labor. Does this make sense no but what do you expect from a garbage dealership/repair shop like Cycle World. And to top it off today I went to go pick up spark plug wires that I was told they carried and when I go into the parts shop they say oh we don't carry them in store.
